What did the traveler come to teyvat in? (Image unrelated)

So in the beginning of the game we see the traveler flying and get consumed by cubes, but in Nod-Krai it says we have a spaceship we’ve never seen before. So I’m confused, did we come to teyvat in a spaceship or by flying?

It used to be believed that the twins traveled to Teyvat just by flying. It has been confirmed that the twins can fly. That said, it never said actually how the twins came to Teyvat until the ship reveal.

The most plausible timeline is that the twins came to Teyvat using the spaceship. Then, during the cataclysm, they tried to leave Teyvat by flying, because the spaceship was crashed in NK, and was likely beyond repair (also, during a catastrophe, I think there really was no time to tinker with the ship and try to repair it). That's when the cutscene at the beginning of the game takes place, with them flying away from Teyvat and then being stopped by Asmoday.

Their opponent at the start of the game is the Shade of Space. It's possible that they were fleeing toward their spaceship, but Asmoday yeeted them to Celestia to deal with them.

I think the travellers flew up to Celestia and that is where they met Asmoday.

I have no idea why they the sibling couldn't repair the ship while the other was still sleeping but suspect Khanria were doing something dodgy with the sibling.

At the beginning of the game, Traveler was flying to try to leave. But Travelers came to Teyvat by spaceship.
