The new mechanic for some Mondstadt character, that's not only for new ones but some old ones too, the current majority of hexen characters are old ones and you don't need to use the mechanic to play the character, mavuika can be played without other natlan characters, people complain but any character can be played with the team you want if that's what you want

I would disagree that it is too late. While the meta has changed, to be sure, the game is still amazing. I have barely scratched the surface of Fontaine, Chenyu Vale is gorgeous, Natlan was absolutely awesome to play through, and Nod Krai is beautiful. The game, for all that has changed, has stayed pretty consistent. Every place you go has its querks, but they are always enjoyable. I recommend returning if you have the time. You can even continue to use Raiden. Hyperbloom is still a powerhouse for the general content, and when you get to your free Aino, you can upgrade it to Lunar Bloom. Don't let the meta changes deter you from enjoying a game that is consistently enjoyable. The story, the locations, the characters. They are the reason the game continues to be played. Not the meta.

It's not really about the new meta on characters in all that i don't return to the game. its because the feel isnt the same anymore (just for me). specially because life did change a lot since i last played genshin, i dont get the same excitement to play the game, it just feels so repetitive and like a task for me. :)

but don't get me wrong, this is not to hate on the current genshin. it is to just reminisce on the times where it felt so "alive". that being; being excited for new characters, the satisfaction you get from getting your favorite character and building them, and most specially, playing with your friends. i think that's the big thing that i miss about genshin, back when we would all gather up in the game and get them artifacts together after online class. my friends already quit too and that's what made it so different. we're just busy with work and university these days :).
