They're different games. Do you want open world or...actually I'm not entirely sure how ZZZ plays. Fast paced action RPG?
Anyway, it's up to you. If you really have no preference, just flip a coin.

That’s always fun

Fast paced RPG’s are fun ngl

Then give it a try! They're both free to download. If one doesn't grab you, the other one will always be there.

Maybe tell us what are you looking for
a_multi_nerd2026-01-08 06:46
The better of the two? Idk tbh
TeriApocalypse2026-01-08 06:49
The "better of the two" is whatever you enjoy more, unless you have some specific metric or measure of "quality" you're looking out for.
Others will give you suggestions based on their personal experience, but you may have a different personal taste for entertainment.
Aegillade2026-01-08 07:04
This isn't even an apples to oranges comparison, my brother in Christ you're asking us to compare apples with a hamburger. You gotta give us more to work with, the two games are completely different.
DrDeadwish2026-01-08 07:09
you are comparing 2 different games only sharing monetization and cool/cute/sexy characters. It's not about which is better, rather which elements are you searching for.
StickMick012026-01-08 10:09
So you just asked this question because you wanted people on a Genshin subreddit to give you an "objectively" better game between the two? We don't know your tastes blud
a_multi_nerd2026-01-08 14:30
Well in my eyes the “better” of the two is what I’ll enjoy more. So I’m weighing the options
lawlianne2026-01-08 06:58
I think the strongest selling point of ZZZ is its high octane fighting game-like action combat. Parries, assists, perfect dodges, combo chains, switches, animation cancelling etc.
For just about everything else things like world exploration, story, character development, lore, music, it has to go to Genshin and it's not remotely close. ZZZ is a mess of a game outside of its combat.
This is a Genshin sub, but if you had to make comparisons with Genshin, you should compare a respectable and closer alternative such as Wuthering Waves instead, since they are more comparable in nature. Personally, I think that game respects its player base more, "W, that is so player-friendly", and is brimming with potential and brilliance. I love to see an earnest underdog (when compared to MHY) try so hard and pull off a success story. Perhaps I am also more forgiving for their mistakes in that regard.
In my personal opinion, of all the big finale patches of late 2025 across the MHY games, WuWa's Rinascita patch finale topped every single one of them by a mile. It was no accident that it won the Player's Voice award (popularity vote) in the recent Game Awards. With banger after banger major story patch updates leading to it's finale... It was simply inevitable.
Nevertheless, I am down to see Genshin from launch day to its very end. Nodkrai's story has been building up to a huge climax going live next week, and I am absolutely hyped and cannot wait to see peak Genshin once again. It's been a very long time coming.
StickMick012026-01-08 10:15
Alr lads we found one of the Kuro marketers here, let's give em a round of applause yea? ᗜ◞ ᗜ
lawlianne2026-01-08 10:29
Sure buddy. Or just maybe like most gacha-genre players, we play a bunch of great gacha games from launch and have different taste and preferences.
If you want to be a die-hard fanboy of a single one, by all means. I happen to play (and spend in) a bunch of them and can endlessly list pros and cons of each one I play. So can many other players.
WuWa is a good game, but anyone who plays it can tell its garbage on mobile and its graphics optimisation is horrendous on PC especially in its recent update.
Think a little more critically. If you’re so narrow-minded, you arent worth having any fruitful dicussion with, but at least OP can make that decision for themselves after reading what I shared, and that’s what matters when responding to them.
StickMick012026-01-08 10:54
Ah it's alright love. I know how choppy and crappy the game runs, even on PCs. Renashio or Renocheeta wasn't the peak of Wuwa, the Cyberpunk era will be (or not, it's a gacha game after all so the higher ups might screw this one up). But no matter, OP is OP themselves so they can choose, but I didn't see them ask about WuWa did they eh??? There's no need to bring that up, only YouTube ads do so, and you're not a YT ad are you??
AlaindeshoGT2026-01-08 06:59
I tried ZZZ after playing Genshin nonstop for a year, to see if, at this stage of the sickness, i'm even able to play another game at all?
It just doesn't work. The only one game that made it to even past 4 o 5 days playing it was Diablo 2 Resurecter and i inmediatly abandoned it and just keep on playing Genshin
DrDeadwish2026-01-08 07:10
I would commit honorable sudoku if I were forced to play only genshin. I'm reaching my limit
AlaindeshoGT2026-01-08 07:15
I find fun in the most unexpectable places. Do you like Stygian or maybe TCG?
I just like the game, find it too comfortable, i guess. It's too good
DrDeadwish2026-01-08 07:07
Play genshin if you like open world exploration, cool elemental combinations, fantasy themes and reading. Oh, and girls with some relative modesty.
Play ZZZ if you don't like exploring, you like fast paced action combat, sci-fi themes and skip buttons. Oh, and more character variety (including furries) and more fan service.
Skykeeper222026-01-08 07:07
You’re in a Genshin sub, so there’s gonna be biased towards Genshin more. But I just had to say that I downloaded and played Zenless since it’s release, and after a year I already deleted it. For me the game just kinda gets repetitive and boring after a while. Fighting enemies and enemies and pull new shiny characters to be able to win high challenge nodes. Genshin for me just felt like there’s more to do other than fighting.

If u like fast and flashy combat, zzz. If u like open world exploration, Genshin. Choose.
Saahil_082026-01-08 07:19
ZZZ is true hack & slash fast paced combat gameplay set on an urban fantasy world. The story is really good in Season 1 but has a very mixed reception in S02...S02 just got wrapped up BTW. The game is not open world but has different zones that can do missions or "commissions" in this case. This is Hoyo's newest game so obviously it has all the polish u would want and it looks and plays INCREDIBLE.
Genshin is a True Open-world experience with very deep lore elements tied into the open-world and world quests, Genshin's world design include High Fantasy, Medieval Fantasy and Magitek. Unlike ZZZ where almost all the information related to the world and lore is given through the main quest Genshin has them spread out over Archon quests, Open-world exploration and World quests.
Genshin is approaching it's 6 year lifespan so it has insane amount of content. The combat unlike ZZZ is not fast paced instead very focused in team building and kinda strategic because of how elemental reactions work. It is a 3D action combat game tho but there is no parry and dedicated doge mechanics like in ZZZ.
The story of Genshin is huge and it covers many different plot points Genshin's story really pops off after Sumeru (3.0 onwards) but if u are a lore enjoyer then Genshin has far more to offer than ZZZ.
Genshin has seen an insane hike in quality since 5.0 and we are now in 6.2 and the quality has only gone up the story and lore has gotten much grander, so yeah now u gonna have to choose what to play, I'd say try both.
But there is less things to catch up on in ZZZ because of it being a new game whereas Genshin is truly overwhelming for a new player content wise and the new player experience is really bad in Genshin as well.
👍👍

ive been quiting genshin for year+ now to focus on ZZZ and HSR, i decided to quit genshin because open world game is just to exhausting for me now, also genshin combat and character design is getting too stale for me after playing for 2+ years
kitastorm2026-01-08 07:32
If you really like world building (story/lore) and open-world exploration, Genshin. If you like fast paced combat with less exploration and more sci-fi themes, ZZZ.
