The Physics of Columbina's Teaser: The shift from White spectrum to Red in the teaser isn't just a filter — it’s an emergency signal.
Did you notice the **White Sun** appearing in the very first seconds?

Columbina gazes at it. It is blinding, yet it doesn't harm her — it gently envelops her. Her dream, while melancholic (missing her friends), feels **positive** and stable.
But then, **Dottore snaps his fingers**. Columbina wakes up, and the filter instantly shifts. Everything turns **Red** . It looks like a siren, an alarm, a system crash.

**You might think this is just magic.**
But there is a physical explanation: We just saw the contrast between what the system *should* be (or will be) and what it *actually is* right now.
* **The Dream (White Sun):** The vision of a stable Star System.
* **The Reality (Red Filter):** The Sun is currently dying, expanding into a **Red Giant**.
Columbina was dreaming of the solution, but woke up to the emergency.
I posted a detailed (but easy to read!) breakdown of this theory in lore sub regarding the astrophysics of Teyvat. Check the comments if you are curious!

One step up from Red Giant is White Giant. They are very similar, just hotter and therefore closer to white in colour.
It's only when you get to stars that are several Solar Masses (so, several times the size of the Sun) that the gravity becomes great enough to collapse the star, forcing the heavier elements to implode in on themselves and then violently explode outwards, releasing all that pent up energy in a very short time.
How's there's no even a leak? I bet it's bad. Like some real bad shit:
Gorou, Kachina and Collei
I'd choose Sandrone, but maybe she has some trick or something.
Well see soon
Barbara, more of the same. I liked her as soon as got her
We don't know.
Just a wall of text and getting mad that people don't wanna read their cinderblock of a post.
The Welkin Moon indeed is the new anchor as the Pale Star planned. The Fool Star and the Loom of Fate will reinforce a future.
I've read your thread before. Have you seen the "glitter" in the teaser? Heh
I really hope Hoyo can pull off what they've set up and telegraphed for those with eyes to see, but I am cautiously optimistic.
Good theory
However i was just looking at the scene again and gotta say bina looking at the sun in the begining of the trailer and again at the very end, she see the sun in the illusion at the begining and she sees nothing at the end when she snaps out of it, the red still stands as is, might be the red we saw in the flowers in the silvermoon hall when aerther first approached bina when she thought we were the fatui, the same red in the flowers apears in the gods limit trailer, i do not remember if the moon turned red too or if it was just the flowers when bina was standing under the moon in the flower field, but i think there is room for the red in this trailer to not be the sun light, might be the red of horror of the truth and just a cinematic effect as a tell of the feelings. Just food for thoughts.
i hope hoyo can land the execution well with dottore doing some kind of big reveal for less lore-attuned players.
(Obviously this is my own theory I whipped up just now. Have freedom and fun to spun more or roll past this weirdo.)
If Columbina got teleported to somewhere else in Teyvat (even if it is in another period of time entirely), it would stand to reason that she has still never looked beyond the false sky, and as such would not be able to dream of the red sun in the first place, so I don't think this trailer in particular can be a certain proof for it.
After all, when we're talking about things that can give the red glow seen in this trailer, then there is at least one other celestial object that anyone who has done the MQ should be familiar with at this point: the Blood Moon!
“Though death would one day bring an endless night, and the sun it gazed upon was but a fleeting ember” — Finale of the Deep Galleries.
This metaphor describes a star running out of fuel—a Red Giant facing an "endless night".
This is further supported by the Athame Artis description of a “universe nearing its quiet end”:
In a universe nearing its quiet end, every world that yet glimmers is a treasure beyond compare...
We also have direct visual proof. The "Star Odyssey" teaser explicitly shows two red stars. The red flow Skirk was floating in is the accretion stream connecting a Donor and an Acceptor.
The theory is linked in the comments, you’re welcome.
But the question still stands, how would Colombina be seeing the sun in this trailer if she's still supposed to be under Teyvat's false sky?
Again, I'm not questioning your theory, but I am questioning if this trailer can be a reasonable proof for it when we already know of a different source that can produce a similar red light, as to the intention of this post.
She is seeing the solution — a stable configuration of the Sun–Teyvat–Moon system. Her dream represents the ideal system state, how it should function under equilibrium. When she wakes up, the overlay switches. She is confronted with the actual state of the system — an emergency mode, a failing configuration.
Still, does that not require a point of view that she should not have if she's only ever lived under the false sky?
Her only connection, as far as we know, is to the true moon beyond the false sky, so you'd need to explain just how Colombina would have obtained the necessary information to know what this current state of the system is.
The False Sky filters and distorts radiation, but it cannot remove the signal entirely — otherwise moonlight and its blessings wouldn’t exist at all. If light passes, information passes.
As the incarnation of the Welkin Moon, Columbina doesn’t need to “see” the Sun directly. Changes in the Sun’s state alter the reflected spectrum. A stable system produces a balanced, white spectrum; a failing star produces a red-shifted one.
The dream shows the ideal reflected spectrum. Waking up reveals the real one.
