The Role of a Witness?

I just finished Durin's Story Quest here, and can't help but wonder if Alice's lines near the end could have some relation to previous hints of a greater Samsara, such as Venti's "Hello" voiceline. I wonder if this could be some sort of test of hers, relating to the Traveler's role in the future? Not sure, honestly.

Also a callback to Zhongli's first Story Quest, when he too calls the Traveler a Witness.

I'm going to sleep over here, Alice. Just do something or i'm going to fall sleep.

Even your kid was more fun than you

The Traveler is a witness because she will outlive them. She will be the only left who remembers their time together.

She is like that last remaining war veteran I saw in a series of photos taken of a group of veterans of America's Civil War. Every year there were fewer and fewer until there was just one person left to remember that war they fought over 60 years ago.

If you like lore theories, you should check out Ashikai on YouTube. She digs deep into references genshin pulls from and has been pretty on the mark for a lot of theories.

She talked about this one recently. One theory is that Teyvat is like a book / story, and "Descenders" or "Witnesses" are those that can become authors of the book. So for traveler to witness Durin becoming the author of his own story, lets Alice's magic overlap the two Durin's fates, which is why she really wanted traveler to be there for Durin and his storybook.

Of course I'm summarizing it really heavily, but if you like this kinda thing, I do recommended checking her (and others) out!

I do follow her! Probably missed out on that video since I try to avoid them before doing the Archon Quest, and it took me a while to do it, but that feels on par with what's been shown, especially in relation to Irminsul.

Did she bring up Deshret on the Video?

I think this is one of the very few times she did NOT tie King Deshret in somehow. At least I don't recall him being brought up.

It's her most recent video.

This is what Istaroth can do. She is casually flipping pages of Teyvat how she pleases, making everything to fit previtten story. That is what happened in Space and Time for You: Abyss sibling's actions in future (re-weaving Khaenri'ah) put everything in motion, causin them to abandon Khaenri'ah so that it fell - as it was prophecied to happen.

Ngl i kinda hate how the "witness" role has been misguided writing wise in fontine era to fet there writers agenda, and his now more of a way to shi on the traveler sadly, that it didn't even mention since 5.0 until now

Edit: why am getting downvoite? You can't say what i was saying didn't happen
