Lunar Overload??
I noticed only the weaker reactions like bloom, electrocharged and crystallize are getting lunar variants. Overload is also a really weak reaction and it's really dogshit without Cheveruese, so maybe we're getting lunar overload in the future?? Maybe Nicole is a Lunar-Overload focused character??

Venti, Durin, Ineffa, Bina (her ER drops noctieably with Venti swirl) can be a 140k team whether people like it or not and in AOE its definetly the best team in the game and its not even close.
Also Ineffa, Bina, C6 Bennett, Sucrose will be one of the the best "overload" teams in the game if you want some more of that reaction.
The reaction is cosmetic
Ineffa + Bina can make a 100k team with Chongyun and Xinyan I'm not sure what your point is lol. As for truly AoE scenarios, nothing beats Nilou Bloom with Lauma, Columbina's AoE is not out of this world. "Best team in the game" is pushing it especially with calcs that make no sense, considering 140k is roughly where Zibai, Flins and Nefer are right now with Columbina in their team.
if you run Bina or Zibai with other elems in the team as well those crystalize reactions will form the standard crystalize gems.
it was explained in the "about Lunar crystallization" official post, that we can do normal and lunar crystalize in the same team by adding other elements.
2. Overloaded is still dogshit with Chevreuse. Overloaded makes Chevreuse meta-level strong, not the other way round. There is a difference. Just like Escoffier and Skirk don't make Freeze strong, it's the other way around.
3. Dendro was released to only interact with 3 elements. That relationship is mirrored in Nahida's kit. It will be the same for Lunar reactions. We won't get a 4th element to react with Hydro for Lunar reactions. If you're going to speculate you're more likely to hit jackpot guessing which 3 elements will get a new cryo reaction variant in Snezhnaya.
So get chevreuse ? The fix is right there, it's called chevreuse
Crystalize and Electrocharged didn't have a buffer beforehand, and Lunar Bloom is just an excuse for a dendro DPS that works alongside bloom instead of alongside quicken/aggravate.
Freeze has Escoffier, Overload has Chevreuse and characters like Varesa that make it very viable... these aren't reactions that need help. Especially since the reactions themselves don't tend to do much when upgraded to Lunar ones (most of the Lunar damage comes from characters directly, not the reactions). It was mostly to make underused reactions relevant again.
The best next candidates I could see as underutilized reactions would be shatter (but Physical is no longer an element Hoyo cares about) and maybe DPS-Swirl (but Varka is likely to take care of that). So I'm not sure any more Lunar reactions are coming.
Also, Lunar reactions are hydro-based. That restricts candidates even more.
Altough you still do have a very good point. Especially for the lunar damage not coming from the reaction itself but rather from the characters.
And yeah from what you said, shatter is at the bottom of the most underused reaction so it would be nice to see something being done to it to make it more viable
So who did you use in place of Chevreuse for comparison?
This DPS race is really pointless.
Once folks normalize the new floor, they are just gonna make a new ceiling and call it content progression.
Stuffs were better during the early days of Dendro.
Then again you're right, all this complex stuff and all the powercreep has made the game really hard to play now. I still haven't pulled any lunar characters and i kinda do feel like i'm getting punished for not pulling them
