Dottore is a false saviour
Weird thought to put out I know but hear me out. Can we aknowledge how Dottore has a weird saviour theme? Not complex mind you, and definitely not heroic, but a saviour theme that's sort of reoccuring.
For instance he is a doctor, mayne not a graduate but he did treat patients, and he actually managed to find a viable treatment for Eleazear. But okay that's not a main point here is it? Let me continue by pointing out that while he isn't a hero, he did save people.
Furthermore, he saved people by transcending them beyond humanity, essentially forcefully trying to evolve them and ironically that is something the followers of the Abyss Order are also doing, and they have a whole deal about a saviour.
Note again, not a hero but a "saviour". Another thing we get is that he is directly referred to as a saviour that will transcend fate in the Archon Quest, yes it was a disturbence of the phantoms that caused it, but the statement isn't completely false. He is the one that is set to burn Irminsul, the very thing that dictates the story of Teyvat, he is also the one to transcend being human mostly on his own and preserve himself through almost completely natural means without damaging his psyche and body- in other words he is still Zandik after all this time.
And I specifically want to compare him to someone else that has been mentioned multiple times in Nod Krai by now, but that is Rene. Rene is somebody that we at least know a lot more on a personal level and has a similar saviour theme. Down to saving someone from illness through god remains, and even almost seeing the false sky. Despite all that, he isn't the hero of the story but he is the "saviour".
Dottore is in a similar boat, he isn't a hero, he never will be. But he is a saviour, a dragon to be defeated but a saviour that will transcend fate itself. Someone that, due to all his smarts, knows how the real hero should handle the story but also needs to be defeated by said hero first.
Just to note: I am not saying Dottore is a good person, in fact if you played the Narzissenkreuz WQ and especially its companion quest "Villains" I am sort of implying the complete opposite. However I am calling him a "saviour" he is the Tricky Bulle Fruit, the Narcissus dragon and more importantly the false saviour. But he is extremely complex in that regard.

I made a another post about his experiment to try delve a little into what exacrly he is trying to do but to me he really is the Narcissus dragon of the story. He isn't trying to be a hero but rather he is attempting to defy fate- be it his own or others.
The main point here is that the wording is saviour and not hero. A hero actually saves the people in Genshin and in the Narzissenkreuz story the hero slays the dragon Narcissus in the end. But the saviour isn't the hero. The saviour was Narcissus himself, Rene was the one that saved Jacob's life by evolution, and allowed the merging of Mary Ann and Lyris he was also devising a plan to defy fate. That makes him a "saviour" but not a hero nor even a good person.
Which is explicitly what I called Dottore. Dottore is the Narcissus dragon, the Tricky Bulle Fruit- he is Narcissus and he is a false "saviour" only not a real one and certainly not a hero
It's interesting that you bring up the designation of 'hero' in this context. Because a Ying Xiung, a "Hero" could mean many things in Chinese fiction, unfettered by morality as much as they can be a protector of the weak.
I am reminded of a certain moon-connected flower maiden that appeared around Bishui, for instance. I'm sure nothing will come to pass with that.
And yes I know hero can be anything in chinese mythology, but here I am specifically using the genshin text used within the Ordo plotline, in fact you could delve deeper wirhin the Simulanka plotline for here and compare the role that Wanderer has as the hero contrary to the one Traveler does as the Saviour here.
The role is simple, defeat the dragon, like simply defeat the dragon if you are the hero. The dragon in this case is of course Dottore, the saviour can be the dragon as seen with Rene but the dragon and the hero are never the same. Defeat the dragon is rhe end goal after all.
As for him being called a savior, litteraly everytime he manages to influence other people, whether it's the sumeru population or the ghosts of the previous AQ, he is being referred to as a Savior
Because becoming an artifical descender IS what Rene tried to do. He failed, obvipusly but you can't say Rene was trying to become a sinner. It's blasphemy against the foundations of Teyvat itself but not becoming a sinner since you are not delving into abyssal energy
Something we've seen done in various WQ (and fail but that's besides the point) yet none of them are called sinners. Remus is not a sinner despite trying to defy the fate of Remuria, Rene isn't a sinner despite trying to become an artificial descender heck none of the Hexenzirkel memebers, excluding Rhinedottir, are sinners despite repeatedly going against the rules of Teyvat.
However they all commited blasphemy, and that is a sim but not simner worthy. It's tempering with the abyss that makes you a sinner, even King Deshret wasn't called a sinner for using forbidden knowledge.
P.S. their blasphemies have been covered already in the game. It’s space, time, life, death, and reason. The same things that Dottore goes against in the current AQ
They weren't sinners if they didn't use abyssal energy
Surtalogi - blasphemy against space
Vedrifolnir - blasphemy against time
Rhinedottir - blasphemy against life
Rerir - blasphemy against death
Hrpoptatyr - blasphemy against reason
And then what did Dottore say. Well he said time for an experiment in blasphemy. Then he said, after receiving the moon marrows: “reason, time, death, life, space: they all believed I would fail”
They never said what form "Irminsul" will take when the fraud burns it, did they.
I don't give a damn about the cringe practice of powerscaling. I am implying that once this iteration of Docco is defeated, the expected future event where "Irminsul" is burnt will not be as what many seem to think it will look like, that's all.
But there is a reason the burning of Irminsul is as significant as it is because it would just be another burninf of Teyvat's laws, another rebrand another part of the cycle.
People seems forget Irminsul is not a physical tree. You cant burn it with fire.
After all Capitano already kinda managing it. And I bet "death" of Capitano was just another global plan of the Tsaritsa.
Let's hope this time he doesn't weasel out of the actual fight. I want to see him fighting. He knows how to fight, might fool others, but not me
Nahida did say he was #2 on physical strength alone I believe?
Like I said before, Vaccine Phanes.
The phantoms ARE NOT REAL. That is why they are PHANTOMS.
They are basically the NPCs in a video game who act based on a preprogrammed algorithm.
It's not because they want to save people it's because a) they were called saviours at some point, b) they believe themselves to be and c) they are trying to defy fate. They are not saviours, they are false saviours that pave the way for the real hero.
They are the Naecissus dragon, the Tricky Bulle Fruit- meaning they are meant to be slain for the story to continue but ultimately they are the reason why the hero even manages to reach the story.
