No s*** that's what she was doing. I for the life of me don't understand why people found it weird that someone was singing over a dead friends casket. It's not an uncommon thing and it's not weird.

is it not uncommon? never seen or heard of this happening ever
Quor182026-01-08 19:57
It depends on the culture. In the American South it's not uncommon for the song "Amazing Grace" to be sung at a funeral, whereas in New England or the west coast areas funerals *might* be accompanied by some music (i.e. a funeral dirge), but singing per se is far less common.
For a Catholic funeral it's common for hymns to be sung as well, but that's also subject to regional cultural differences.

Columbina was unconcerned and unfeeling as per Wanderer's voicelines.
"Let me ask: what should you do if you were to encounter a "damsel" who is oblivious and innocent at any given time, and unconcerned and unfeeling in any given situation? If it were me, I could at least challenge her to a fight. But if it wereyou... with your conscience, I would stay away."

There are people who refuse to cry during a funeral. Easy to assume columbina is that kind of person.
Still, out of all the fatui, she's the only one who seem very attached to signora.

Wanderer isn’t exactly a good judge of understanding how people are feeling. We can’t really take his opinion on her at face value.

That voiceline came out months after this video. Unless you didn't watch the video on release and saw that voiceline first, it should not have affected your initial thoughts on what Columbina was doing here.

Scara is the same character that thought the various people in his life betrayed him by leaving him when some of them are killed. I don’t think he’s a good judge of character

Columbina is 500 years old and has seen countless humans be born, live, and die. She probably doesn't get too attached to people in general. She was fond of Rosalyne, I'm sure, but her mourning was likely not terribly deep.
KhadaFeathers2026-01-08 20:41
Her death could have hit harder then since Rosalyne is also around 500 years old.
Neospanner2026-01-08 21:28
Possibly - but by the time Columbina joined the Fatui, she'd spent her formative years around the Frostmoon Scions. Likely everyone she knew from the time of her birth had perished by the time she left, and quite possibly a few generations of people beyond that.
She likely would have gotten into the habit of staying detached by that point. And given that the work Harbingers do is very dangerous, she may not have felt the need to overcome those habits even if the individuals around her were long-lived. After all, they could die any day if a mission went south.

Laying, singing over her comrades coffin.
Of course she was mourning, wtf else would she be doing.

Media literacy is truly dead.
