kinda happened and never brought up or referred to again

It was brought up a lot of times. Flower represent how Columbina feel. As you catch up with the story, it will play a key indicator and plot initiator for certain scenes.
CHONPSCa2026-01-08 20:14
It's explained in the first NK AQ iirc. Either act 1 or act 2. I haven't done 6.1 AQ so it's definitely those.
It's explained almost immediately after this happened.

If you listen to the OSTs playing for each of the colors, you can note the occasion it is playing..
HuTaosTwinTails2026-01-08 20:40
It is literally brought up and referred to constantly that the colors of the flowers change depending on how columbina is feeling. Do you people even pay any sort of attention.
Tamamo_was_here2026-01-08 21:19
Did you read the story ?
Gentlemanor2026-01-08 19:55
Red means she feels threatened.
White means she feels neutral.
Blue means she is thriving
Strange-Pen12002026-01-08 19:58
It took me a few watches to realise that when she releases all those petals in the festival cutscene as she heads off to the moon; those petals are red... telling you things were about to go wrong just before the music cue did...
Gentlemanor2026-01-08 20:01
Huh, that's actually a neat little foreshadowing I didn't register yet
Ifalna_Shayoko2026-01-08 22:01
Not sure about the white.
It was mostly used when she was close to death, so the amount of color probably reflects her power level / health.
Alzusand2026-01-08 20:01
Red = Danger
White = Normal
Blue = Happy
the flowers just react to her emotions because she controls the kuuvaki in the area.
Andromeda_Violet2026-01-09 07:01
Wouldn't say white is normal because characters go check up on her when flowers are white, she's usually very weak when they're white.
Medyanka2026-01-09 09:45
That's the point - white flowers are "flowers' normal state", not Columbina's.
As dude said, flowers are just affected by the kuuvaki of columbina. If her mental state is neutral, or is she too weak - flowers receive no interference and be white.
On the other hand, columbina's heightened emotions will turn them blue or red depending on the emotion.

I feel there is something more with her, they're not telling us everything, I feel some kind of plot twist coming (4.2 like)
LunaticPlaguebringer2026-01-09 22:58
The flowers react to the level of Kuuvahki energy in the area.
Blue is Low, Red is High, White is close to none.
Columbina's emotional state affects the Kuuvahki in the area.
