Silly as all this is, some of the more thought-provoking theories in the game are ones that explore the idea that Aether and Lumine might NOT be siblings, in spite of the ample evidence suggesting that they are.

Stuff like the idea that the Traveler's memories were altered so that they BELIEVE that they have a sibling (and that the Abyss Twin is that sibling), or that they do have a sibling but the Abyss Twin is a fake copy, or that the Traveler is actually one being split into two, or any other such idea.
