The conclusion of the Sumeru AQ has the funniest technicality.

Also. I was unable to find the source of the drawing. Comment here if you have it.

I mean, those experts were running unethical human experimentation on the population of their entire capital city to everyone's detriment, had made a perfectly natural biological/spiritual function socially taboo to cover it up, and had kept a small child imprisoned for half a millennium for no reason other than potential embarrassment, and maintained a chokehold on information solely for the sake of maintaining their power, but sure.

The point of this was to point out the irony of moving Sumeru into a far more authoritarian and oppressive style of government, but it ending up being far better for Sumeru due what you said yourself, and the fact Nahida is a cinnamon roll that wont harm her subjects, but something tells me people are taking this post as me defending the sages.
Sad

It was far more authoritarian and oppressive under the sages. Did you actually pay attention to the story?
The_Great_Ravioli2026-01-09 05:27
Did you even read my comment?

You said "the irony of moving Sumeru ***INTO*** a far more authoritarian and oppressive style of government". That's the opposite of what happened.
It's pretty clear that Nahida doesn't really involve herself in government. The immediate replacement for the head of government was not her, but Alhaitham. To the extent she does, it's to lay down general principles of conduct and to ensure the abuses of the past never happen again. One of her first major acts on assuming her proper role as Sumeru's god was to deactivate the network the sages had used for many of their abuses.

*sigh*
If YOU paid attention to the story, you would know that Alhaitham stepped down from his position of Acting Grand Sage and back to being a scribe, but much to Kaveh's dismay, he kept his paycheck. Not only that, but I don't know why you think Nahida doesn't involve herself in the government, nor why you think her words doesn't trump anything the sages say, especially we have evidence of her ordering the creation of devices to defend Sumeru, and locking away things from all the sages.
I seem to forgot what sub I am on, so I will make the point of the post VERY simple that a 10 year old could get:
"Nahida is technically a dictator, please laugh."

If YOUR English comprehension was up to snuff, you'd understand what "immediate replacement" meant.
And no, Nahida is not a dictator, technically or otherwise.

I would never invite your ass to any of my parties, lmao.

how hard is it to put a spoiler warning?
NLiLox2026-01-09 05:08

Single_Rabbit_95752026-01-09 05:37

Idk. Those "experts" are too dependent on their AI. And then tried to create a robot god by running multiple simulations with AI to the detriment of their citizens. Only to be proven that their model is flawed by a book nerd. That it can be easily poisoned by fake data entries.
If anything, Sumeru were formerly run by tech bros.

Last time i checked government officials got replaced by Alhaitham, not Nahida.
