The Liyue reveal trailer is the only trailer they’ve shown Lumine as the main character

Dudes are just better fighters
JSor982026-01-09 07:49
I only want girls in my game to bounce their tits and that's it! No woke fighting shit! 😤😤😤
Yeah you sound like that
furinaphile2026-01-09 08:03
Ironic considering Lumine had higher motion values when the game released, plus quicker animations.
Not sure if that’s still the case after alhaitham and skirks gave the traveler buffs.
MJay_O12026-01-09 08:10
Even though I like Lumine more, design-wise, I still find Aether cooler in action trailers/cutscenes that involve fights, etc...
fluffy_56362026-01-09 11:14
Especially cus his English Va is tanjiro
rosenongrata2026-01-09 08:21
bruh 🙄
Clades_Candor2026-01-09 08:32
Too bad all the top dps teams are female focused lol
TheSynthian2026-01-09 08:47
Biological and factually correct. People in the reply argues like gacha representations based on sales change biology.
Even “some” female personalities and mindsets are male coded ones (like some characteristics that get influenced by hormones) in most games not even just gacha. “Some” female characters are basically men in hot women bodies. You just have to accept it or be delusional about it.
Supreme-Machine-V22026-01-09 09:04
So women can't be muscular or strong wtf are you trying to say?
TheSynthian2026-01-09 09:10
Don’t you understand the meaning of the word “some”, I literally highlighted?
And there are things called averages and when you talk about groups you usually talk about them as a whole.
And as a whole men are stronger and possibly (based on historical and current world data) better fighters.
You are like if someone says “Americans are richer than Indians” (which you can just see by using GDP per capita) and you say “So Indian can’t be rich? Wtf? What about Ambani?”
See it’s not the point.
mephivision2026-01-09 09:05
Yeah so… this is a fictional game. It’s funny how you bring up biology when “biologically” speaking, men aren’t able to yield elemental powers, but heaven forbid female characters know how to fight:))
“some female personalities and mindsets are male ones” yes, because women are a monolith with a singular mindset (not that I’m expecting you to know that, based on your comment I doubt you have much interaction with women irl)
TheSynthian2026-01-09 09:28
Biology literally is there in the game. Just because something is fictional it doesn’t automatically means “everything” is completely different. It’s literally impossible human to create a fiction like that even if they tried.
Muscle mass, bone structures, other biological processes like eating, breathing everything exist in the game and most of it are same as the real world. There are huge number of references to things like muscles, training, exercising and facts that can be literally used in real life.
And males and females look the same as in the real world. And their muscle masses have same differences like in the real world. So it’s “safe to assume” real world biological realities applies to them. NPCs usually support this fact.
Go and check armies of most nations. There are literally more men than women same as real life. You argue about a game while failing to pay even most basic attention to the things that matter in this argument about fighters like, you know, fighters.
Unless it’s specified like gaining a vision, which increases your strength. And based on different vision holders having different strength levels it is not a set amount, but more like a multiplication of your actual base strength. (Most likely guess based on available information). (So almost every female playable character’s ability to fight are justified because they already have a strength booster.)
Where did I say anything about singular mindset? I said “some” specific personalities “used in games” are male-coded. There are many different female personalities, but the point is most developers use male personalities on female characters.
(And since we are pulling assumptions about each other out of thin air based on “comments” like professional psychologists, instead of sticking to the actual argument. Based on your comment I don’t expect you to understand any of this, because I doubt you can even pay attention (didn’t notice genders of soldiers)).
sugarpopkitty2026-01-09 09:59
almost every male character’s ability to fight is also justified by the same strength booster. also, what kind of “male personalities” are you talking about? i cant think of one female character who had a “male” personality, and personality really isnt gendered, so that take is off. there are female npc warriors without visions just as there are male ones, its not like the only strong female characters have visions or gnosis, but i dont know why or how you think that way unless you really dont pay any attention to the game and assume this generically.
TheSynthian2026-01-09 10:22
Point I tried to make with vision strength boost is the disparity between NPCs and playable character genders.
As I said “ majority” of the soldiers and most fighters in most nations and factions are male npcs. But playable characters where everyone can fight, have more females than males. Real reason is sales, it’s literally their main revenue so they don’t play around with it.
But that difference between female NPCs and playable characters and the question, why female NPCs follow real world logic (men are stronger and better fighters) while playable characters have same (actually higher) representation? Can be answered using visions. Because having a vision means even if you are below average (even kids) in actual strength, you will be at least be above average with a vision. (This is just an excuse (a lore accurate one), real reason is game developers use 2 different logic for NPCs and playable characters even though they are the same species. Reality for NPCs and profit for playable)
Personalities aren’t gendered, that’s true. But hormones and other factors influence personalities based on gender. It’s more of an average. This is actually scientific you can look it up. Like testosterone affects personalities and desires, etc. That doesn’t mean it completely changes or dictates a person. But each gender have some personality traits that one of them are more leaned.
Again this doesn’t mean a woman can’t have those traits, it’s just on average a man is more likely to have certain traits than a woman.
This is the funny thing about personality, you can’t point out which character is a male-coded one and which one is just a female outlier (which actually exists in real life). All you can do is notice that certain personality traits and mindsets that is more common on men are actually more common on women in fiction. Like extremely competitive ones, aggressive, fight or challenge obsessed, or even fighters and warriors. Women can be these things sure but men are more likely to, based on biology. But as I said you can’t exactly say which character is male-coded and which one is just an outlier female, you can just see the difference.
About I said this in another comment in this thread, that when you talk about large groups, you talk in averages. Obviously there are female NPC warriors, but go and check the ratio between male and female npc fighters. Which is very similar to the real world (a reason to believe even though this is fictional, lot of things are based on real life realities and facts. Like almost all fiction)
Here’s the comment I said the exact same thing when talking about large groups, it’s as if all you guys think the same way,
“Don’t you understand the meaning of the word “some”, I literally highlighted?
And there are things called averages and when you talk about groups you usually talk about them as a whole.
And as a whole men are stronger and possibly (based on historical and current world data) better fighters.
You are like if someone says “Americans are richer than Indians” (which you can just see by using GDP per capita) and you say “So Indian can’t be rich? Wtf? What about Ambani?”
See it’s not the point.”
furinaphile2026-01-09 07:34
Really wish they did like wuwa did and let both MC’s have a chance to shine in the promotional material.
Edit: everyone has replied with the same point about the MC’s. I get it lol, I already said “fair enough” and I agree within first hour of the post being up.
It would still be nice to see Lumine in *my* event art. *my* launcher. Give me a toggle for it in the settings. Let me see her in game, if not the promotional material.
caramel90popcorn2026-01-09 07:54
Ikr I also like how smooth the transition is from male to female mc
furinaphile2026-01-09 07:56
Same, they genuinely do a great job making both characters feel loved and included. It’s always very well done.
HieX912026-01-09 08:34
Care to elaborate? It sounds so interesting
Toxic_MotionDesigner2026-01-09 08:43
Basically during cutscenes, when the camera pans behind some other object, male rover switches to female and vice versa.
They use a lot of cool transitions to make the change seemless but this is a more common technique
HieX912026-01-09 08:47
That’s incredible. The MC is basically a gender fluid canonically.
Apart_Establishment72026-01-09 09:21
no, they just want whatever version of the mc you pick to have their time to shine in the trailers, there is no gender switching in the games story or lore at all, its just a quality of life feature ingame that you can switch freely at anytime (with a 24 hours cooldown before you can switch again)
Wolf17412026-01-09 11:27
No
Blkwinz2026-01-09 14:57
There are several promotional arts that show them both at the same time, it's two different people filling the same role in the story.
Exotic_Animator_4272026-01-10 14:16
I wouldnt say they are different people, same person different gender. Like stelle/caelus
Blkwinz2026-01-10 15:24
That example has them even farther apart because they have different names, it's referring to two people. Again, Stelle and Caelus play the role of the same person, but Stelle is Stelle and Caelus is Caelus. Stelle can't be Caelus, their identity only overlaps as "Trailblazer"
Exotic_Animator_4272026-01-10 20:41
Buddy they are the same person, like V from cyberpunk is the same person, the game just lets u pick the gender. Wise and Belle are two different people that play the same role as protagonist.
Blkwinz2026-01-10 21:21
V from Cyberpunk could just go to a ripperdoc and completely change their body, that's precisely why I'm making this distinction because Caelus can't do that. He isn't Stelle, he never becomes Stelle, he just plays the same role in the story.
caramel90popcorn2026-01-09 09:17
You can watch them on YT on their official channel, it’s like both mcs coexist within one individual and they make the switch between them happen smoothly
TheBirdNamedSparrow2026-01-09 08:03
Well the problem here is that both MCs exist together in the same world and fulfill two very distinct roles, so they make the Male MC as Traveler and the Female MC as the Abyss Sibling so whenever you see Lumine in trailers you know it's the Abyss one.
That of course doesn't excuse the fact that they sometimes forget to put Lumine in-game event art.
furinaphile2026-01-09 08:07
Fair enough, that’s an important distinction. Attempting to show Lumine/Aether as both the protagonist and antagonist would be confusing.
I wanna see my girl tho😔
karillith2026-01-09 09:21
i mean they don't show her as an antagonist either except for that one version illustration so...
nairolfy2026-01-09 12:25
They do show her in the trailers everytime the abyss order becomes relevant and she appears in the story. But that isnt a lot, so yea, you often won't see her
RishaRea482026-01-09 10:26
Even without a trailer they should show Lumine when it comes to at least the event illustration in your game..In WuWa's event illustration where they only feature one Rover it shows the Rover you are using and when you switch to a different gender the rover on the event illustration also change..
ghostyspice2026-01-09 08:50
There are so many ways around this. Show her with Paimon and whichever nation’s elemental resonance and people will figure it out.
I just want to see my girl. I’m pretty sure more people still play her as the traveler anyway. It had been slightly over 50% for Lumine for a long time, at least.
cytrpoy2026-01-09 20:36
Way more than 50%. In the recent saurian dance event, you could see which Traveler your teammates had. I played this event quite a lot, and it was very noticeable that there were far more Lumines than Aethers.
Outside-Cookie43092026-01-09 08:43
Well though I am a lumine main too,our mcs are not like wuwa mc's. They are not default just genders or they could have done like wise and belle in zzz and hsr with their mcs they had been doing wuwa thing before than wuwa its just for genshin 1 they are siblings and not just gender swaps plus they have to portray one side as antagonistic and one as hero so of they keep on switching it will create confusion for new people, now pls stop saying how wuwa do stuff for which hoyo had been doing way before wuwa existed.
furinaphile2026-01-09 08:54
No offense dude but please learn punctuation.
Also, comparing the two games is good. Competition is good. Discussion is good. I want Genshin to be the absolute best it can be, because I love it. Discussion like this is what helps the game grow.
Outside-Cookie43092026-01-09 08:57
But it already had what u said way before competition so yeah I never stopped u from saying comparison is bad but do in stuff which hoyo doesn't do not in what they already do way before wuwa.
D0cJack2026-01-09 14:23
But this just doesn't work in Genshin and it has nothing to do with competition, wdym?
furinaphile2026-01-09 15:45
The competition comment was in reference to “now pls stop saying how wuwa do stuff for which hoyo had been doing way before wuwa existed.”
I interpreted it to mean: don’t compare the two games.
Comparison and discussion is natural between competing games, so I mentioned the fact that they are competitors to emphasize that discussions like this are going to happen. It’s an inevitability. Thus, asking for them not to be compared is silly.
His English, grammar, and punctuation make it incredibly hard to decipher.
D0cJack2026-01-09 16:03
I meant that there can't be a promo competition when all other examples have only 1 of 2 characters exist in game universe at a time. While Genshin (and ZZZ the same) have 2 different characters having 2 distinctly different roles in story and able to be present simultaneously. So, it's silly for Genshin promotions to do stuff that, for example, Wuwa does with their interchangeable MCs (switching mid trailer or something? Never seen them).
furinaphile2026-01-09 16:14
Yes, I agree with that. I agreed with it when another person commented it like an hour after my comment. I updated my first post to reflect that now.
Yeah, wuwa switches them mid-trailer, it’s honestly really clean. They do a good job.
I mentioned exclusively the competition, comparison, etc. in my reply to you and the guy above because it was the only new thing being added to the discussion. I already conceded to the other point earlier, so talking about it again isn’t productive.
Sorry if I come off as hostile, that’s not my intention. Hope you have a great day🙂
Secret_Conclusion_932026-01-09 14:39
But this particular comparison is stupid. It's not like QoL, or gacha rate, or whatever.
Wuwa is gender selection like HSR or FGO, Genshin is protagonist/antagonist.
Nino_sanjaya2026-01-09 09:06
Hoyo follow their lore seriously. In HSR you see both MC and genshin only Aether. This is cause Aether and Lumine is different while Caelus and Stelle not so much different
FieryPlume2026-01-09 09:20
But aren’t Lumine and Aether interchangeable. Their stories are the same as the MC or when they become the abyssal Prince/Princess. It’s like in Pokémon when you choose male or female protagonist and the other becomes your rival.
TalentedTrident2026-01-09 09:27
I think what they were saying is that Caelus and Stelle don't both exist in HSR, it's one or the other, so whenever you see them in trailers you know it's the MC. Aether and Lumine are both actual characters though, so for continuity's sake it makes sense from Hoyo's perspective to designate one as the Traveler and one as the Abyss sibling for simplicity's sake.
softcombat2026-01-09 22:10
but they do now, it seems. the main story had the other trailblazer appear and speak to the one you picked.
LightlessRainfall2026-01-09 13:22
Hey, I just want to point out that Wuwa’s MC, male and female, are the same people. So they cant simultaneously exist
Aether and lumine are siblings, they are different people, and they can only exist as 2 separate people
BillysTown2026-01-09 16:23
Like the other person said it’s solely to keep their narrative strong/consistent , this trailer was pre their importance on it. And their story heavily involves these two/ as separate characters. Unlike Wuwa as they’re the same person/doesn’t matter.
4GRJ2026-01-09 07:50
Actually, she was featured in the first Lantern Rite cutscene upload
But yeah, never again
perfectchaos832026-01-09 07:51
I like how the Liyue announcement and the Switch announcement are the same video.
Krii100fer2026-01-09 09:20
Yeah but Liyue actually came out
Tomezzi962026-01-09 09:40
Congratulations to Liyue for coming out.
LeMandarin082026-01-09 10:19
Yeah they came out with Beidou and Ningguang, totally not indicative of the Mei X Kiana shenanigans that happened before.
tusharjoglekar2026-01-09 16:32
Genshin really came out of the closet with that one.
Ze_AwEsOmE_Hobo2026-01-09 17:29
Genshin on Switch is still in the closet 😔
NoNefariousness21442026-01-09 13:37
Genshin anime or Switch 1/2 port: which will be first?
Krii100fer2026-01-09 14:51
End of the world provably
Princess_Of_Thieves2026-01-09 16:12
GTA VI.
LiDragonLo2026-01-09 23:41
Easily the anime
pawo102026-01-10 00:25
By the time we have a switch 3 genshin won’t even run on it
Faedwill2026-01-10 00:31
Switch port? Never. Switch 2 port however, hm...
ChargeComplete22552026-01-09 08:11
well Lumine as MC is not canon so...

Why did I laugh at this comment 😂
Supreme-Machine-V22026-01-09 09:03
She is.
There is no canon evil mc whoever you choose is good other is bad promotional material just uses Lumine to avoid confusion
bluedragjet2026-01-09 08:14
Why are you showing Britain
sushivernichter2026-01-09 08:52
Wdym this is clearly Aedes Elysiae

surely yellow trees traumatized Star Rail players that hard
AceWissle2026-01-09 10:25
I don't get it. Someone explain the joke pls :')
jacobfried92026-01-09 10:30
It's a joke in the HSR community when Phainon's hometown map (Aedes Elysiae) was reused in the Fate Collab as Saber's hometown (Britain) despite their revenue. Said map looks similar, mostly the trees, to Liyue.
AceWissle2026-01-09 10:41
I see, ty!

U realize its a coincidence, not the reason
Icy-Childhood-45872026-01-09 08:18
Lumine is light element here.
Edit: What could that mean.
nowlz142026-01-09 09:12
What that means is that they didn't pay attention to that detail or didn't want to change it for whatever reason.
Particular_Grab_64732026-01-09 09:56
Genshin always pays attention to details
nowlz142026-01-09 10:02
I'm guessing they just didn't want to specify the element.
bloodypumpin2026-01-09 10:21
Are we talking about the same game?
Particular_Grab_64732026-01-09 10:33
Yes we are, the fact they put lumine there when their MC is Aether and put her with the white color she has currently as the abyss princess, it's not just a mistake because they chose the element of the character, if she was meant to be here as MC then she would have anemo or Geo not the white.
When it comes to that kind of detail it's planned
bloodypumpin2026-01-09 10:35
Yeah remind me when I'm proven wrong then.
Supreme-Machine-V22026-01-09 19:00
Same game that randomly put MC in Hydro mode during Rerir fight for no reason.
Particular_Grab_64732026-01-09 19:02
I think it was to make sure we could do the lunar reactions
Supreme-Machine-V22026-01-09 19:06
There was 100% a better way to go for then to give fucking hydro traveler who is an on field hydro applier and nefer needs an off field one.
Particular_Grab_64732026-01-09 19:08
Like what, no hydro character? You know what I don't see any use in arguing with you it's just dumb because giving hydro traveler was logical in this situation
Supreme-Machine-V22026-01-09 19:20
How was it logical?
Particular_Grab_64732026-01-09 19:06
Oh and btw if you say we had Aino, on the second half we only had traveler and Nefer, the hydro traveler was to make sure we could trigger lunarbloom so it IS logical
D0cJack2026-01-09 14:21
Other than this trailer, give at least one example of them not doing so.
bloodypumpin2026-01-09 16:18
"Attention to detail" is a pretty important thing in games you know. Like having a dragon character glide with his own wings instead of gliders.
Or characters having their own poses in character menu instead of using the same 3-4 poses for literally every character.
Oh we are talking about lore though right? How about the fact that the character you play is completely different in world quests and archon quests? Either I'm playing two different travelers or traveler is suffering from a serious case of multiple personality disorder.
But of course, Hoyo always pays attention to detail right?
KazakiriKaoru2026-01-09 10:32
Samsara crackpot theory: Lumine was just like us before, travelling with Paimon, and Aether was the Abyss Twin. They found HP and he rewound time, making Aether go through the same journey instead to make him realise his mistake.
New_Economist_94292026-01-09 12:22
Samsara is not a loop.
wggn2026-01-09 14:19
new element
AgeAfter2026-01-09 08:32
Notice how Lumine has her original powers
Zarclaust2026-01-09 08:36
The one trailer made me think she was the canon pick for MC cuz it was also the Switch trailer and now I'm stuck with Lumine
Elxjasonx2026-01-09 08:39
In a game where both MC have a distinct role, is logica that they decided to represent them clearly, when you see Aether and Lumine on a trailer YOU KNOW wich one is the abyss twin
BillysTown2026-01-09 16:19
You’re getting downvoted for what lmao , it’s obvious this is what they did. They love their lore and this was early days before they finalised what they wanted to do, so making seperate roles for official Promos is the way to go , especially for Genshin’s main lore as it concerns the 2 of them. Switching the 2 breaks that narrative.
Unbound-King2026-01-09 09:01
I'd probably watch most of the trailers if Lumine was in them.
ILikeLungsSoYeah2026-01-09 09:08
soon for snezhnaya surely...
TheUltraGuy1012026-01-09 09:09
Good
Primordial-one2026-01-09 09:18
Lumine Mains truly still crying about this huh?? Hate to break this for you, but Genshin devs will never use Lumine for Promotional Videos, and im happy they are doing this lol, Hsr mostly use Stelle (and somehow no one complain about that).
If y’all don’t like it then just don’t watch the Videos, or just make yours (like you always do lmao)
Spare-Pianist39422026-01-09 10:41

JuniorMedium48792026-01-09 11:04
wtf is wrong w u
TheMoises2026-01-09 13:10
What you on about, HSR alternates between Caelus and Stelle pretty evenly.
PressFM802026-01-09 17:08
not all aether mains but always an aether main
also hsr alternates all the time. also also in the 1.x days caelus mains were acting like he was getting shafted as hard as lumine was and still is. people did complain about stelle having a decent amount of relevance in the marketing
Salter_KingofBorgors2026-01-09 09:21
Literally what I got downvoted for saying.
I_am_indisguise2026-01-09 09:45
Well yes, this particular trailer was the sole reason why Lumine is never included in trailers.
Cause afaik, this caused a lot, I mean A LOT of confusion in the community, how is Abyss sibling with Paimon, why is her element white, which ofc was a dev error, but that can't stop people from theorizing all sorts of things. In fact, I still see people use this trailer, in their theories, like how this is a reference to samsara, other theories like, lumine and aether are just stuck in alternate loops, etc etc.
Not to forget it was the early days of Genshin, so more prone to confusion and outrage. So, to avoid confusion they completely removed Lumine from their future promotions.
Ig this is what happens if you keep both the characters in different imp roles, in a gacha character with a gacha community. But yes, she really deserves her own artworks at least in game. Like why tf does my event banner have Aether in it when I have lumine as MC.
(Funny enough, all this chaos could have been avoided if Lumine didn't have white element in the trailer, I hope so)
VaioletteWestover2026-01-09 17:03
We don't need to cater to the dumbest of us and make a worse product for everyone.
We also have people massively missing out on the free constellationss or failing to read the big bold letters saying Durin needs 5 real days.
Koanos2026-01-09 17:52
Curse you community from robbing us of more Lumine trailers!
VertGreenHeart2026-01-09 19:26
Its wild since it would take so little work to have a Lumine version of every event banner at least, since you just know every character in those images is a layer that can be swapped in and out.
Karuro2026-01-09 22:14
They can't even bother switching [one of the Aether icons into a Lumine](https://imgur.com/a/WRXMJXx), which is an *existing asset*.
But I'll keep nagging to them about it in the surveys anyways.
Particular_Grab_64732026-01-09 09:55
Look at her clothes, her element is white, meaning it's the abyss sibling because for now only the abyss sibling has the white light for her element
sugarpopkitty2026-01-09 10:00
it was a dev mistake and isn’t meant to be noticed, otherwise there would’ve been no reason to include that.
Particular_Grab_64732026-01-09 10:05
Who knows genshin loves to put hidden lore everywhere
Kazenobu2026-01-09 10:05
I’m deeply disappointed my favorite female character I’ve been running with since the beginning is mostly sidelined she deserves more love she’ll always be number one in my heart I can’t believe we haven’t seen her for this long in trailers come on hoyoverse don’t forget about lumine she’s important too
BillysTown2026-01-09 16:14
She’s the Abyss Princess for them, since this for 5 years they’ve clearly put the emphasis for their trailers/lore wise that they picked Aether. You’ll see her in web event which sometimes depends on the twin you pick. And Anniversary arts/trailers nom canon which celebrates the two reuniting. That’s how they’re gonna do it to the end with how much they dedicate to the importance of lore.

There are some trailers/teasers when there is both twin no ?
And I'm not speaking about prince/ss and traveller, but about both of them being traveller, trying to showcase them both as mc
Lumine_Alatus2026-01-09 12:05
Not that I remember but the Liyue wallpaper had both I think.
kidanokun2026-01-09 10:33
they were still going on "both Travelers are canon" that time.. good old times, a bygone time in the past
RandomEOS2026-01-09 10:52
of course wuwa fans willl jump in every complain related post
emberesment2026-01-09 13:29
Ehh she looks better as a villain anyway.
_childofares2026-01-09 13:40
I hope they never do this again.
SpartanCat72026-01-09 13:44
Not a trailer but at least they did use Lumine as the traveler in the latest Web Event (and I probably wouldn't have bothered downloading the wallpaper otherwise tbh).
Karuro2026-01-09 22:10
The web events seem to be the only times left where they care to do 2 versions.
iirc they had also already stopped doing Lumine versions with the birthday chibi art before they stopped doing those entirely.
MineBlocks502026-01-09 13:48
I would actually watch trailers/pay attention to promotional material if Lumine was featured as the Traveler more.
As it stands I just can't watch trailers for new versions which sucks, I tried believe me but I couldn't stand it everytime I saw Aether as the Traveler because it just felt wrong to me.
This in turn makes it harder to get hyped about new things before they hit the game and I can see Lumine doing it.
Stealthless2026-01-09 14:27
In Britain too
clueless_shepard2026-01-09 14:44
And she’s as pretty as osmanthus wine
mi_Mayon_Go2026-01-14 02:03
She is as good as I remember
I_am_not_Serabia2026-01-09 16:56
And there are people in this fandom who take a part in olympics trying to explain it's good
Beneficial-Pie-71892026-01-09 18:15
Hoyo now: Who tf is Lumine? The Abyss Princess?
azahel4522026-01-09 18:53
Someone was fired that day.
_king_of_despair_2026-01-09 23:33
Every time I unlock a new tutorial and Aether is the one demonstrating it, I hate that I started genshin during an era of my life where I still related to fem characters more than masc one (im transmasc) like I get why we cant change which twin we picked since in game pictures (like hangout memories) could get messy (although i mean they each have a version but switching them would prob be a hassle), but atleast give me the one I picked in the tuts and not the one I wanted </3
SAMMYYYTEEH2026-01-15 20:01
pretty sure it was because her mains severely bullied Aether mains in the initial days for being the lesser picked twin
Honest_Milk_82742026-01-16 03:15
Aether js the main character and Lumine is the "gender swap" only because Genshin is inspired open world was inspired by Legend of Zelda: Aether js Link and Paimon is Na'vi. Lumine herself is Zelda, the princess that's the sole objective of the main character.
They even joke about it sometimes, with Paimon saying something about she not being a some shiny fairy that will pop out of nowhere to point where he has to go (which ironically, she does a lot).
Anyway, it was a huge compromise coming from Honkai Impact 3rd, a game the playerbase seem allergic to make characters.
Commentaires
Yeah you sound like that
Not sure if that’s still the case after alhaitham and skirks gave the traveler buffs.
Even “some” female personalities and mindsets are male coded ones (like some characteristics that get influenced by hormones) in most games not even just gacha. “Some” female characters are basically men in hot women bodies. You just have to accept it or be delusional about it.
“some female personalities and mindsets are male ones” yes, because women are a monolith with a singular mindset (not that I’m expecting you to know that, based on your comment I doubt you have much interaction with women irl)
They use a lot of cool transitions to make the change seemless but this is a more common technique
That of course doesn't excuse the fact that they sometimes forget to put Lumine in-game event art.
I wanna see my girl tho😔
I just want to see my girl. I’m pretty sure more people still play her as the traveler anyway. It had been slightly over 50% for Lumine for a long time, at least.
Also, comparing the two games is good. Competition is good. Discussion is good. I want Genshin to be the absolute best it can be, because I love it. Discussion like this is what helps the game grow.
Hope you have a great day🙂
Wuwa is gender selection like HSR or FGO, Genshin is protagonist/antagonist.
Aether and lumine are siblings, they are different people, and they can only exist as 2 separate people
But yeah, never again
There is no canon evil mc whoever you choose is good other is bad promotional material just uses Lumine to avoid confusion
Not pictured: Pie-Non
Edit: What could that mean.
When it comes to that kind of detail it's planned
Or characters having their own poses in character menu instead of using the same 3-4 poses for literally every character.
Oh we are talking about lore though right? How about the fact that the character you play is completely different in world quests and archon quests? Either I'm playing two different travelers or traveler is suffering from a serious case of multiple personality disorder.
But of course, Hoyo always pays attention to detail right?
If y’all don’t like it then just don’t watch the Videos, or just make yours (like you always do lmao)
also hsr alternates all the time. also also in the 1.x days caelus mains were acting like he was getting shafted as hard as lumine was and still is. people did complain about stelle having a decent amount of relevance in the marketing
(Funny enough, all this chaos could have been avoided if Lumine didn't have white element in the trailer, I hope so)
We also have people massively missing out on the free constellationss or failing to read the big bold letters saying Durin needs 5 real days.
But I'll keep nagging to them about it in the surveys anyways.
And I'm not speaking about prince/ss and traveller, but about both of them being traveller, trying to showcase them both as mc
iirc they had also already stopped doing Lumine versions with the birthday chibi art before they stopped doing those entirely.
