I've played since Launch. How did I find this only now??

I found a precious chest in liyue yesterday. I’ve been playing since around like 1.2

100% exploration isn't all the chest count.... I found a precious chest in that same area after 3 years playing the game(that was still 2 years ago)

Simple. You just didn't explore enough.

That said, I only realized this week that I've never really explored the area between Liyue mainland, Chenyu Vale, and Sumeru. I only managed to notice because I accidentally used the compass during a Primo Geovishap sparring (damage test).

I just found a chest in Dragonspine because of the latest event. And I've played since 1.2

some chest despawn when around quest area.
there was a bug fixed back around 2.0 to spawn some bugged ones

I \*think\* this chest despawns if you are on a certain quest, so you could have explored this region to 100% while on that quest and this chest just doesn't spawn.

When I was farming slimes I was surprised I missed a few exquisite chests in mondstadt. There was one that spawns after defeating a large dendro slime near the bridge that connects mondstadt and liyue.

This specific area chests despawn because of Mondstadt main quest. They just fixed this bug just a while back (1 year I think) so maybe you explored back then when it was bugged.

I think this was added several paches ago, I have been playing since 1.0, and found it just recently, it's new. Also my friends found it recently as well and they been playing since 1.0.

Few months back I also found multiple chests I had missed in Mondstadt and one of them was on that platform in the image upright from Mavuikas head.

There's *always* stuff to find in this game. That's part of what makes it fun.

I feel like 1.0 players moved on from Mondstadt to Liyue pretty quickly in terms of exploration, and then there were events and such, and so they didn't go back and search around in Mondstadt much, but felt like they 'must have' found everything since they're a 1.0 player.

Also a day 1 player. Never 100% dragonspine. During the recent event, I wandered around and found 3 chests. Still not 100% yet

Dude, I’ve been playing since launch, and I’m 20000% sure I cleared some places a long time ago and got to Rank 60. They just added new chests. Sometimes exploration goes down from 100% to 99% or 98%—imagine your face when you find it’s not 100% anymore.

I found a chest along the walkway in Mondstadt a few days ago, near the city... I've explored all the way up to Nod Krai, though not 100%

The answer is "you're not using interactive map" probably

This area becomes 100% on map without you even trying it so you would have never chest hunted in this area because it rapidly goes from 8x% to 100%

This was the first 100% I got in map but 14 months afterwards, I actually raided the hilichrul bases and found 4 chests out in the open like this

They added that chest later cause was bugged since launch, at some point of 3.x or 4.x iirc

There are 518 chests in Mondstadt if I remember correctly. You can see your current count on the mondstadt achievements page. It's the only region where I got all the chests.

For early regions like Mondstat and Liyue, there are AR gated chests. The developers did this so there was something to find in the early days as players achieved higher AR levels without the open environment we have today.

I just found the last chest on dragon spine to get 100%
It was through one of the red hourglasses at the corner where you get the bottle messages for the quest in Inazuma

I will bring fake propaganda from 1.0 and say "Because chests respawn"

A certain quest (Archon? Character? Dont remember) replaces a few of the chests round there with quest related ones. Yes, this is where the "Respawning Chests" Rumour started. Anyway, on launch there was a dumb bug for some of them where they wouldnt spawn back in once you completed the quest. This bug was finally squashed either during Sumeru or just before it.

TLDR: You got hit by a Launch Bug, scour the area in case you missed the other chests affected.

I've been here since launch and I'm still finding stuff in Mondstadt after a "100" exploration. We need updated compasses bad.

Honestly this is why I love genshin - the random surprises or new puzzles you unlock no matter how long you’ve played

Im strongly convinced Hoyo puts a chest or two in an already cleared region every other patch just to mess with us. In the exact way that you just experienced. Me too actually yesterday. There is a flying slime in between the ocean and the tall tree, close to the two children playing together who are guarded by a knight, floating in the air. Shooting it grants you a exquisite chest😂😭

A few weeks ago I was wandering Liyue and found three chests and a Seelie. They were all in this tucked away area off the path I usually take Apparently it was a tiny section I always kind of went around.

They need to buff the nation compasses

I found out 2 month ago that we can run non stop (until stamina is consumed) simply by holding the “run” button.

I used to tap, watch the character run, then stop, then tap again 🥹

Skill issue....(Saying as I have none of the nation's at 100% exploration and playing since October 2020)

Yesterday while I was preforming for Zibai I found a chest in liyue. I’ve also been playing since launch, it was unlocked and everything it must’ve been those “I’ll pick it up later” chests…

Sometimes Ill just randomly use the treasure compass while doing commissions and find stuff and I have 100% in every region

I still use my compass once in a while and still find chests in places I swore I’ve been to.

Bro I found a common chest in mondstat in 5.x I’ve 100% all of mondstat back in 2.x

I found a seelie in Mondstadt the other day cuz they upgraded the compass to track seelies, trials, and mora boxes recently. I feel like a defeated AR60 Day 1 player

I sat on the Chenyu Vale boat ride again recently and rode past a locked chest plain in view by the riverbank. I've sat on the boat more than once before, so idk how I missed that chest.

Not sure if this is 100% true, but i have had this experience where i absolutely 100% opened a chest, and then after reaching a new AR (AR 58, 59, etc) the chests reappeared in mondstadt and liyue. Like, i have a very vivid memory of becoming AR 58 and suddenly there was an exquisite chest right outside of mondstadt city being protected by hilichurls that I absolutely had already gotten because i was always in that area basically every day of playing the game, and suddenly it was there again one day. But idk, maybe im just crazy

If it helps any, sometimes a chest will respawn. So, maybe you got it & it did respawn?

Yeah, I’ve also found chests in Dragonspine that I’ve missed since 1.6, and they weren’t even in the very cold area.

I haven't been playing for too long, but it's always funny when you walk by somewhere you have frequented many, many times.. Just to see a chest you never grabbed. I found one behind a house in Mondstadt last week, and was so confused, because I know I've circled that entire place probably 50 times when collecting those damn mushrooms. 🤣 It just blended in so well.

there’s a lux chest on the roof in Mondstadt I would have never known about if I didn’t see a random ahh tik tok video on. Then another one at the bottom of the waterfall like east or northeast of the wind cube boss.

Wish I could get some monstadt locked 3 star weapons so I can upgrade them for the archive, didn't think they were limited at the time 

Also a day one player, and I was farming slimes for columbina and found a chest in liyue and my jaw dropped lol

I remember I found a chest during one of the scenes where hu toa talking with furina and zhongli. I was literally just chilling and watching them talk until I saw it

Pretty sure they add new chests in various regions with almost every patch.
