600+ MS game?
Returning user here, have been playing daily for the past 3ish months? I’ve recently been experiencing crazy ping?
I’m located in Asia, not using VPN, in ASIA server. Running the game on a decent computer (RTX 3050). I’m very used to playing on 70-90ms, but the past week my game averages like 6-700ms?
Ive checked:
\- correct region (Asia server)
\- Internet connection (speed & connection test shows fast and stable)
\- restarted my computer/router god knows how many times
\- cleaned my PC fans (I was desperate)
\- Nvidia drivers are updated
\- background applications have been kept to only the basics (Google/Discord/spotify etc “end tasked”-ed
\- no firewall/antivirus bc I live life on the edge
Please help me I just want to farm primos

High ping is usually going to be an issue somewhere out on the internet, not on your PC. It could be your home connection to the internet, or the path that information takes (over the internet) from your home to Hoyo’s servers, or Hoyo’s servers themselves.
My blind guess is that it’s option #2, an issue with the path that information is taking over the internet. This can happen sometimes, like when a cable is cut and someone has to make repairs. Hopefully I’m wrong and it’s just an issue with Hoyo’s servers.
Email Hoyo about it, but be mentally prepared. In the worst case scenario it could take a few weeks to properly fix
Activate the microsoft defender Antivirus and let it run, you can leave the real time protection on, it uses very little resources, nothing you'll ever feel with that hardware. While gaming, it mostly deactivates itself too.
If you have 5 bucks, try Mullvad VPN, dead simple and secure. There's a good chance your ping will be much lower, but no guarantees.
You should let the VPN exit in Tokyo Japan while playing, that's where the alicloud servers are located for Genshin. The Mullvad App has a big button for selecting the outgoing server.
It's 5 bucks *per month*.
Mullvad is probably the best VPN you could get for privacy, but if that's not a concern, there are plenty of cheaper options.
Especially since the average user is doing a hundred other things that compromise the privacy you get from using Mullvad.
Your ISP has a routing issue to Genshin's servers.
You can try using a VPN to bypass your ISP's routing. Or complain to your ISP. That never works, but it might make you feel better.
If you are really concerned about privacy and wouldn't mind paying extra more you could go mullvad like some has suggested, I was using that for a while and it was pretty good. Protonvpn also seems to be a decent choice which many seem to recommend.
You could also use vpns that are dedicated to optimal routing for lower ping such as mudfish or exitlag, but honestly if you are getting a vpn might as well get ones that suit general use better as they are usually more privacy-focused.
