How long to finish main story from Fontaine Act I to current endgame (Nod-Krai)?

Hi everyone,

I recently returned to Genshin Impact after a long break and I’m currently at Fontaine – Archon Quest Act I.

I want to understand how long it realistically takes to catch up to the current endgame (Nod-Krai) in terms of story content.

Specifically, I’m looking for time estimates for:

• Archon Quests only (Fontaine → Natlan → Nod-Krai)

• Archon + Story Quests

• Archon + Story + major World Quests

(including remaining Sumeru world quests)

Assumptions:

• I read dialogue (don’t skip)

• Casual pace, not speedrunning

• No exploration grind, events, or hangouts

I usually play 2–3 hours per day, so rough day/week estimates would also help a lot.

Would love to hear from players who recently caught up or tracked their playtime.

I would estimate 3 weeks and a half, no I will not elaborate, take it or leave it.

Archon Quests alone - I think about 60 hours\~
\+ Story Quests - Proabably close to 100 hours
\+ World Quest - I don't even wanna count but will definitely get up to 150 hours at least
So anywhere between 3 weeks to 3 months

Their estimation of Archon Quests is probably a little low. The current Nod-Krai runs around 24 hours or so (around 8 per patch). I think we can guess next patch will be about the same.

Possibly bump up their estimate 10-20 hours across all categories. There really aren't many character quests in NK since it is built into most of the stories. I would also recommend making sure to do the character quests in Natlan (which double as the tribal reputation quests) before finishing Act5 since it adds a lot of good references to the story that won't be there otherwise.

I based my Archon Quest estimation googling youtube walkthroughs of the quests. there was an act 1-5 of fontaine that was 15 hours, act 1-5 of natlan that was 15 hours, act 1-4 of nodkrai that was 15 hours and act 5-6 of nodkrai that was 5 hours, so i added them plus the act 6 of fontaine and natlan, paralogism and nodkrai prologue and so I guess it would be a bit more than 60 hours now thinking again.

For the rest I do admit i was just eyeing things more, like adding story quests I just counted how many have there been since start of fontaine, counting tribal quests too and they usually take around 2 hours so i ended up at around 100

Hello so you have a lot ahead of you.

Archon quests: 5 chapters in Fountane; 5 chapters in Natlan; 8 chapters in Nod Krai so far. Say 3 hrs in average each chapter, that'd be 54 hrs.

Then you have 2 Deinsleif quests. They were not super long - let's say 5 hrs total.

There's also 1-2 interlude quests, maybe 3 hrs?

I haven't done the major world quests - they are obviously long, so let's say 10 hrs in total.

54+5+3+10=72 hrs. 3 hrs a day would be 24 days. I feel I'm being conservative - plus the new version is coming next week. I'm afraid you'd need 1 month to catch up.

If you're reading text, I'd guess world quests are way longer than 10 hours, maybe about 40 hours.

Every Fontaine act more of less consists of 3 hours, so that's basically 1 act of Archon Quest a day, you can probably get to Natlan in a week if you're consistent about it. (Fontaine has Act 6 but it focuses on Traveler and Dain, basically a Traveler AQ) but that only takes an hour and a half.

Natlan patch cycle has a lot of AQ's and a lot longer too. It has 5 acts, 2 interludes (One is in Mond), 1 Traveler AQ. It's gonna take you another week for you to complete if you're going for the 3 hour mark each day. Probably more given how long the AQ's are in this nation

Nod-Krai already has 7 acts. Most of these are 3-4 hour ones. Really chunky bits of story but that's because they have integrated the story quests of characters in the AQ. So all in all, it's safe to assume it would take you 3 weeks or more to get caught up if you're not skipping dialogue and also only have a 3 hour time frame to play the game.

Since no one here has mentioned it yet:

For Natlan, it's highly recommended to also do the Tribal Chronicles (character stories) and the main World Quest sequence, before starting the final Archon Quest act. Let's just say your experience will be a lot better for it.

Honestly in Natlan AQ, the way they force you to slow walk long stretches made it feel like Natlan was the longest AQ. I don't mind yapping, running from left to the right, but exposition while you're being forced to slow walk is just stupid, that could have been cut scene.

Hi this is late but I started catching up from sumeru lmfao ( I stopped playing for yearsss) and I do have a full time job. But had time during the holidays and it took me from beginning of December to now to get to nod krai! Some days I played like 10 hours some 1-2hours. If u search up archon quest length there are some graphics u can find that have estimated time lengths. Good luck it’s actually been a lot of fun catching up
