No voice for Venti?
I might be kicking a hornets nest with this question and I'm honestly not meaning to, I'm just a little confused.
I'm aware that there was a thing with the VA's a few months back, something about not being paid??? But then the VA for Paimon got in trouble for saying something and then other VA's were being dropped? This is the barest bones of the info that I remember.
But my question is: I know that some of the VA's decided to not continue with Hoyo and to not keep going with being the voices of their characters, and that's whatever that's their decision, but didn't some of the characters get new VA's? Because Sucrose has a new voice and Paimon has a new one too????? Right? So then why would Venti not have a voice in a recent thing I just did in Mondstat while talking to another bard? It was a quick little side quest thing where Venti just kinda showed up and there was lots of talking. Did Venti's VA leave too?
I'm just wondering if all of the characters are going to suddenly go quiet in the game in different parts? I noticed a while ago that there was no voices for characters but then now that I'm playing again everyone seems to have audio again.
I've been playing since 2021 but I took a very LONG Hiatus and I'm just now trying to play more consistently because I do really like the game. I'm still only in Liyue and I haven't even gotten to Inazuma if that tells you how early in the game I still am. I get lost while exploring alot. . . . so the actual story quest kinda gets set to the way side often. . .
I also just don't always pay attention to the drama or the controversy that's happening and then I'm suddenly like "WOW whats been going on?!"
So If someone can point me in the direction of answers that would be cool.

Everything else you yapped about is completely irrelevant and there's no real reason to talk about it in relation to this question.
The other characters were voiced which is why I thought it was strange. Thank you
That particular quest just hasn't been updated. As you say, it's just a small thing and Venti has been in content since then that has a higher priority for having his voice (they fill in the unvoiced stuff with newer stuff first and the older stuff as time allows I guess).
So if there's 1 or 2 lines of Dialogue from a character that has a VA then they can choose to not add a VA because of the small portion.
Another reason could be that the VA was busy with another project and didn't have the time to record their section and that is why there is no VA
Basically, if the character's mouths is moving and they are more expressive with their movements (or if everyone else around has voideover except for said character) then it's because of the VA situation. However, if the character's face/mouth is not moving and everyone else is silent too, it's probably just an unvoiced world quest.
The ones who only stopped work because of the strike and had intentions of returning when the strike was over were able to keep their roles when the strike ended. The ones who asked for more than this either had to walk back their demands or didn't return. They realized they were replaceable and that a client can find another actor easier than an actor can find another client.
