Illuga looks pretty cool. I want him. How often do you build characters that you have no teams for?

I like Illuga's design quite a bit. I don't think I can pull for Zibai because, Varka. But it would be nice to have Illuga on my account.

I wanted to get Navia but I couldn't afford her on her last rerun because I was saving for... Skirk? I think?

Guess I'll bump Noelle and Ningguang up on my priority build list.

Illuga gives Geo quills, meaning a flat damage increase to all attacks from the active character, and also gives Crit% and DMG buffs to Geo characters. With cons, he gives Flat DEF and further increases Crit bonuses.

Also, the Crit bonuses have 100% uptime and are party wide. This means every geo character on the team gets + 20CV or + 50CV if C6.

While Illuga is definitely tailored for Lunar teams, saying he doesn't do much for any other geo characters outside Zibai is just blatantly false.

He doesn't do much still. If we speak meta there are millions of better options. His non lunar quils are straight up worthless. The cv is okay but not really, since we don't have any great geo dps other than Zibai. Navia Noelle Itto are just getting carried by supports and sib dps nowadays.

That would never happen to me. I only plan on doing a few ten pulls from zero pity.

If I win my 50/50 at 30 to 40 pulls I'll eat my shirt. 😂

I mean, it’s happened to me and people upload videos of themselves getting a 5* at no pity within 10-20 pulls, so it’s not never. There’s a reason people advise not pulling for just 4 stars unless you are okay with accidentally getting the 5*

I just build every character I like whether I have team for them or not. Also I am at the endgame so I have many resources laying waste there if I don't do anything about it.

I gave myself a goal to final ascend, lvl 80+ every character with their own weapon and artifacts. You bet I have a lot of characters with no specific team.

You got this! It takes time and LOTS of Dust of Azoth. It definitely gives you a goal and some variety every time you log in, which is nice. The biggest bottleneck for me is actually the weapons. I felt overstocked on weapon xp until I started leveling 15 different weapons!

if i like a character for whatever superfluous reason, i pull. maybe i'll build them, depends on resources. if i really like them, i will both build and use as a main team member regardless of effect in the team.

of course, there's the huge drop in overall effectiveness for overworld shenanigans perfectly fine.

just switch out to a suitable for the occasional boss/domains. no biggie.

isn't illuga on zibai's banner? i didn't think varka would be getting a banner alongside her.

I do this a lot as well. Mizuki and Jahoda kit might be disappointing but overworld doesn't need meta.

I meant that Varka will be coming after and approximately 28800 of my future primos are fated for him. And we all know how hard it is to change fate in Teyvat.

id cap them at like lvl 40-60 just so they don't insta die. i can use them in the overworld thanks to zhongli but i won't pour too many resources into them

I pulled and built Wanderer this past Chronicle Wish even though I hate his playstyle because I love him.

That is the only instance of this happening for me.

At least for a 4 star it is less expensive!

I’ve built everyone on my account and I have most of the cast. I don’t permanently artifact farm so I give a lot of space for talents and mora/xp but I still don’t struggle too much with the artis either. It’s a nice benefit playing since launch. If you like them you should build them, don’t let the minor goals distract you from the big picture. Doing whatever you want for any reason at all is the best way to play every game.

I don’t build them at all. I want them on my account, but I don’t bother wasting resources on useless characters. To this day, I’m waiting for a reason to build my Zhongli, but I simply don’t have a single team that needs him. I love the guy, but he just rots on my account.

Generally I build who I like, but the biggest example for your question is Kaveh. Supposedly one of the worst kits in the game but I love him as a character. I've invested a lot in him, including paying real money for buying/refining Battle Pass weapon and to C6 him. I got Xianyun accidentally (fishing for Iansan who I did not even get on that banner) and built HER for Kaveh. Used a few feathers to craft him some artifact pieces as well.

Outside of endgame, just about any team can work even if they're not the most optimised. The overworld is where you're going to spend most of your time, so if you like the character, just get them and have fun with them. Who cares if they can do the most damage or clear Abyss/Stygian etc.

I've had Shenhe for years until Skirk finally came along. I just didn't like any of the cryo DPS before her. Whenever I like a character I just build them. One way or another I will find a use for them, even if it's just in the overworld.

I build a ton of characters only barely like around 70 ascended with leveled up artifacts and weapons and around 8 talents. They will be useful enough for overworld and Imaginarium Theatre.

Sweet. I only have her at C0 but I did the same thing. My current Overworld team is Jahoda, Citlali, Furina and Coffee.

Even with Jahoda as the onfielder nothing manages to touch her HP except Furina.

It's not like overworld requieres strong teams so I pull and build evetyone I like. I might have some weird teams now and then bjt again, 1 support can delete overworld enemies so why bother for a meta team for one of my fave tasks (exploration)
