Powercr-eeping/ept- I'm confused
I always see you guys talking about Mavuika and others in terms of 'Powercreeping' or 'Powercrept' I do not know what these words mean, and how broken is she- Do I need to invest in her more since I have premium team? Please and Much Thanks💜

And for the record, for future times you want to use art and you don't know the artist, it's usually a quick google search away. In this case, I found their website: [https://mieumiso.com/](https://mieumiso.com/)
In Mavuika's case, she's too much of a generalist. She's the best on field DPS character but specifically she's the best on field Pyro DPS character, meaning all other Pyro DPS characters (Arle, Gaming, Hu Tao) are all having to play catch up. But the gap is so big between her and them that it kinda just renders those characters unviable. If you're pulling for viability, why bother with those characters? Any investment you put into them is better suited for Mavuika.
But she's also a really good sub DPS character too. Arle, for example, was only good as a main DPS character, but now you have more reasons to choose Mavuika over her because even if you weren't gonna run her as a main DPS, you may want her as a sub DPS.
Not to mention how many characters synergize with her more easily, or how her kit is exceedingly easier to use AND get value out of (you CAN learn her combos, but you can also just...not. You'll still get a ton of value out of it) and the fact that her mobility is insane.
The real problem with powercreep is the future precedent it sets. If Hoyo wants to drop another Pyro main DPS in the future, or any main DPS for that matter, they have to convince people to swap off Mavuika, the character they've already invested in and are more comfortable with. If they are explicitly stronger, you'd be relying on far more subjective things to sell a character like how much someone likes their kit or personality. But even if you DO pick a character for those reasons, it's discouraging to even want to spend money on them knowing they're likely to get powercrept further and further as the game goes on. If you don't mind that, then this largely doesn't effect you, but it does matter to a lot of players.
On her release, her main dps teams were doing 100k+ dps at C0 while the previous best teams were 70k - 80k dps. Most teams sat at 60k -70k. Mavuika excelled in single target and AOE. This meant that the game became rough to balance. Any Mavuika team could steamroll content designed for the power level of everyone else, and if content was designed for Mavuika levels, then most players would struggle to complete the content without her. This actually occured in a combat event soon after her release, and people were livid.
Now in Nod Krai, we are seeing new teams regularly 100k+. It had to be this way to sell characters, and Mavuika essentially set the powerscaling to this level. She jumped what would have been 2 - 3 years of powerscaling in the past (essentially the scaling from 1.0 to around 4.0).
In Mauvika's case, she probably the strongst dps atm, so that is why there is alot of talk of powercreep regarding her. Cause she is that strong and can brute force alot of content.
Powercrept: suffers by the powercreep introduced
As the name suggests, it is a term used in gaming to describe a process where new content (characters, weapons, mechanics) is released with higher stats or better abilities than existing ones
This makes older content progressively weaker or completely obsolete over time
In this case, Mavuika released with higher stats compared to the rest of the cast, which meant that with the same tools as the other characters, mavuika would always deal more damage, and the worst part is that she barely needed any resources to reach absurd ammount of damage
To counter this, HP inflation is implemented to "" balance"" this addition, and I say it with "" because all the rest of the cast suffers from it as they never got any tools to catch up
Its not the first time it happened, back in Fontaine Neuvillete really broke the system
After Columbina’s release, Lunar premium teams (Flins–Innefa, Nefer–Lauma, and Zibai–Illuga) will allegedly be stronger than Mavuika’s, meaning they power creep her.
Ultimately, if you don’t care about endgame content (Abyss floor 12 and Stygian Fearless/Dire), you don’t need to worry about power creep. They tend to favor the active banner's characters and current region’s gimmick.
