bffr they never update characters kit or apparence wise after they release unless its a mechanic related thing (Hexrei buffs, Lunar inclusions in other char’s passives). Only exception was Zhongli which was because of litteraly whole of CN server’s outrage, which was justified because Zhongli is the Archon of Liuye, ingame representation of China, so they had to change it.

What people dont seemingly understand, or arent willing to, is that exploration abilities are tied to map updates that fully use them with valid alternatives within the environment
Mondstadt had mostly some cliffs so Albedo could place his flower and get you to where you needed to go, with Amber been enough to glide your way to the mysterious island. Or in worse case scenario, just Kaeya bridging
Liyue same thing, except there are a lot of sides where you can stop to recover energy and continue climbing. Can use Zhong dong to climb or make up spots to stop on, alongside Geo traveller been designed for 1 time trial
Inazuma, mostly water, so Ayaka can use her special dash, or waverider on any of the 50 waverider spawns
Sumeru, mostly horizontal movement, so Dehya gets a running passive in the morning, and Wanderer can fly horizontally better than vertically
And so on
If Durin "flies" that renders most content previous useless, and even Chasca cannot do much vertically, specially outside of Natlan. So your best bet you would be something equal or worse than hers and at that point people are gonna complain they are locking exploration behind 5*s, worse so 5 stars that are not even in a banner anymore

Anyone complaining would be satisfied if he used his wings when gliding or used his wings for a unique "sprinting" animation like Arlecchino or Lauma.

Cloud Retainer has a bird form, but can only be used to dive down and attack. Must still use a glider.
Kujou Sara has wings and can fly, but still uses a glider.
Sigewinne has wings and can floats during her burst, but only then. Must still use a glider.
I don't know why the community is **Extremely** bent out of shape about During having to use a glider, when we have other examples of flying characters needing gliders. It's so immature.

It's because they made the wings a part of his model. He opens them in his idles. They lift him off the ground while normal attacking. The quest gives him a skin. It feels like Hoyo has decided they want to miss an opportunity and are rubbing it in our faces: All they had to do was make the "new skin" from his quest be a custom glider skin that looks like his wings. The assets are RIGHT THERE. Just a quick copy paste for namesake would be acceptable.. So people who like Durin are reasonably upset, seeing as we just came from Natlan where exploration was a huge part of every character's kit.

Cloud Retainer does not constantly have wings in her human form.
Kujou Sara's wings are not constantly visible on her and we never see her fly with them.
Sigewinne's wings are not a focal part of her design (in fact, I had to go look up pictures of her to see what you were talking about) nor, let's be honest, do people really care about her as much as they do Durin.
Conversely, Durin's wings are *always* present on his model and significantly noticeable in all of his attacks, even his idle has him using them. He's shown prominently in the archon quest (and his own story quest) using them to fly.
And Hoyo can't at least let us use his wings (which they already have on his model!) to glide?
I can totally get why we can't actually *fly* with them. That'd be a bit too much. But having what is effectively a custom glider doesn't seem like asking for too much.

xianyun has exploration capabilities, sara is a 4\* and sigewinne should have been a 4\*.
durin does not, but should, have exploration capabilities. personally, i dont even care about him using specifically his wings for gliding, id take being able to glide out of his super jump on his EE.

durin's story quest could be used to unlock his wings as a special glider specific to him. wont hurt anyone. wont break the game. durin havers happy.

I don't think he needs actual flight in game, but it would be nice to have his wings function as a wind glider. Flight as an exploration passive would invalidate several other exploration passives. Any other character who can fly has it tied to their skill and has a very limited duration, otherwise it would be broken. Durin would need a whole rework of his kit if they were to give him the ability to fly.
So while I agree that a cosmetic change would be nice (albeit highly unlikely), anything else is going too far and has no chance of happening.

They should do it atleast to his skin they gave us in the end of his quest as hey a dragon using gliders despite him flying in quests that is unacceptable

But hoyo did the changes to the characters once after their release that too for zhongli and never changed anything again maybe if people riot again when they did for neuvilette spinning patch then maybe we may see which I think is unfortunately won't happen again
