This one repeat multiple times to get you the stamps from missing lauma, if you have lauma you can get the stamps at once.

I don't have lauma, but having to do this like honestly I didn't count but it has to be more than 6 by now. Wouldn't that hv been enough by now?

It will repeat until you've done it 5 times. Bear in mind that the anecdote that introduced the deer is a different one and isn't counted among those 5.

In the previous comment, someone said it will just repeat a few more times if you don't have Lauma. Try to at least understand what has been said. Sure, it's a bad design but that doesn't mean not having Lauma will make your comprehension absent too.

it's 5 total times if you do not have lauma, having lauma gets you the 5 stamps at once + 1 extra anecdote afterwards
Doing it 5 times is just there to grant you the 5 total stamps(for primos), afterwards they stop appearing else it would be infinite primo stamps which would actually discourage ppl from pulling lauma.

You need Lauma. Some anecdotes need other characters to fully clear them. A quick google search would have told you that.

It doesn't seem that clear from what's been commented so far, so for clarity's sake, if you have Lauma you only need to do this one once and you'll get the next and last part for this anecdote chain, but if you don't have Lauma you have to repeat this one 5 times and you never get the last part of the chain.
Some people have reported getting this anecdote more than 5 times, but that might just be because they wish for an Aino anecdote at the shrine which allows for repeating anecdotes.
