How do you think Nod-Krai will handle Anemo/Pyro/Cryo and Hydro 5 stars in the future?
Basically the title.
Since 4 stars are rarely the incentive to pull on a banner for most people, Genshin allowed itself to not have them enable Lunar reactions.
But what if they wanna create a 5 star of any of the above mentioned? Since Natlan, characters seem to have a specific gimmick to make us pull for them. But Nod-Krai is the most constrictive so far.
They have three (or four) moons and three reactions to match. 4 elements are involved out of the 7. What of the other 3?
So what if they wanna make a Pyro Nod-Krai unit that's a 5 star? Will it be like the first few nations, where there is nothing extra to them? Will they create a new Lunar reaction, despite the lore implications?
Or what if it's a Hydro 5 star? That would enable all, and that's Columbina's specialty. Will they just not release such characters at all?
What are your thoughts or ideas?

So the other reactions aren't really missing out on much. They're already set to match or beat Lunar reactions, all they need is characters that deal higher base damage if they don't keep up already (they probably do because Mavuika and Neuvillette).
Swirl is a minor exception, it's not particularly powerful compared to other reactions, but because of Viridescent Venerer and passive support effects on characters like Kazuha and Sucrose, it remains one of the most used elements just for its support value.
Basically, Nod Krai is a crutch for bad reactions, and good reactions don't need gimmick characters dedicated to them to do a good job like the reactions that Lunar is based on do.
I suspect Schneznaya will give us someone or something to really help Freeze and Superconduct, because Freeze has fallen behind and Superconduct died with Physical damage.
I don't think we're getting any other Lunar reactions aside from the existing three, so my honest opinion is that we never get a Lunar-related pyro or hydro character. A hydro would compete with Columbina, or it would be a specific support for a single lunar reaction (at which point, why hydro?). Anemo might be doable as a support slot, to kick Sucrose out of teams.
The strength of lunar reactions is just being able to deal with NK mechanics. The reactions by themselves only help making the NK characters' kits work, but they are nothing too different from normal reactions otherwise. This means that if they want to create a pyro NK character, they can simply balance lunar vape in order to fit those standards and call it a day.
Tbh the most obvious hint that such reaction will eventually be released is the existence of Arlecchino. The NK characters can use lunar reactions because NK is a land rich in Kuuvaki, the power of the moons, and guess who is the released character as of now who has the closest connection to the moons?
I'm fully expecting that before the end of NK we'll get an update of Arlecchino's kit description to fit lunar damage just like they did for all the other kits so far with the introduction of new reactions.
Sucrose/Venti C1, Durin, Bina, Ineffa pyro/hydro/electro swirl
That team is bananas already we already have the new "Lunar National"
I dont know about restrictions i just put Lauma and Ineffa or Lauma by herself, or Ineffa by herself good things happen
They won't get lunar reactions.
A pyro 5 star will be a traditional pyro character, like Durin. Same with the other elements.
We're not expecting lunar swirl or freeze. Probably not vape because it would be too powerful.
>So what if they wanna make a Pyro Nod-Krai unit that's a 5 star? Will it be like the first few nations, where there is nothing extra to them?
Yes.

There aren't that many NK characters left to come. Maybe none of them are hydro. The Luna patch series has characters that are not all from NK. Varka and Durin aren't. Alice and Nicole probably aren't. Zibai is from Liyue.
Either by having decent over world abilities or decent enough that really helped them out.
Crystalize was possibly the worst elemental reaction (only topped by shatter), and because it had a hydro variant, they could make it a Lunar variant. Electrocharged, same deal, underutilized, so Lunar Charged was a fresh spin on it to make it relevant again. Bloom fell out of meta over the past 2 years mainly because it was a purely "supportive" reaction without a proper DPS using it, so Nefer came out to spice things up. That's as deep as it goes. So for the future of Lunar stuff, you really need to think about it from a meta way: what reactions are both hydro-related and so out of meta it's about time to make them relevant again. And the answer is: none, really.
- vape is meta, there has been multiple characters released over the past year to keep it relevant.
- freeze is meta thanks to Escoffier
- swirl is not really used as much these days, but Varka is coming next patch, so in all likelihood if Swirl is to be made interesting again it will be through him and Hexerei teams, not Lunar reactions
As for non-hydro reactions, most of them have either received some kind of help in recent years (overload has meta teams that work with it for example). Superconduct and Shatter are the main "forgotten" ones. I could see cryo-based reactions gaining some relevance in Snezhnaya or maybe with the Fae faction, but I don't think it would necessarily fit into the Lunar meta.
TLDR: I think we reached the end of Lunar stuff, other "in need of help" reactions will be made relevant again the same way we're used to, with new characters that have a kit relying on it specifically. Varka for Swirl, probly Snezhnaya characters for cryo reactions, and Vape/Freeze/Overload are not in need of help right now.
