Its 2026 Genshin should stop auto triggering world quests
I know for some people world quests might not be a big deal other than rewards but I love doing world quests and I don't skip dialogues. I just hate when a world quests triggers when I am in middle of something or when I am not ready for it yet
I know focused mode helps during archon quests, but still I don't eant world quest trigger just because I am near to it and I want to unlock a teleport point or just exploring.
I always miss the initial dialogues and next time when I finally pickup to do the quest I don't even know the reason why my character is doing this world quest in first place because I don't remember it anymore as I triggered it when I was not ready.
I really want to put this complaint on survey anyone feeling same please do it. Just give us a option like there is world quest nearby, approx time taken. Wanna start yes or no. It is simple.
Also I would love if world quests that depend on one another can be done in order for better experience. They can show world quests that are related in description or something and best order experience suggestions. But that would be too much to ask I guess for now I just don't want auto world quests triggering.

Old regions rarely or never had this type of bs, idk about you but when Im exploring I couldnt care less about quests because quests have cool lore and my brain just want the funny puzzle/ enemy fight loop sometimes and not to commit on a random world-ending, 12 hour long world quest with the first cutscene being a total jumpscare when you were just trying to unlock a teleport.
Nowadays if I see the blue ! On the map I run away from them lol
That excuse is just bs.
((Can you like if you agree with me?? You can dislike if you want to or if you disagree, I don’t mind, I just wanted to make my opinion known and see if anyone feels the same 😅😅😅))
I love the world quests, but sometimes I'm in the middle of something or just trying to do something quickly and so then I end up having to skip through the damn intro to the quest text and then the whole quest just doesn't hit as strong when I do it cuz I don't remember the start.
But you're right, auto-triggering quests need banishing unless a quest tells you to go to an area instead of an NPC. In that case it's on the player for going into that specified area.
getting random quests triggered when i stumble into the adventurer's guild is actually quite enjoyable. though i *hate* that it locks katheryne into dialogue afterwards. *give me my primos*
i'm focusing on one thing and suddenly a cutscene and LONG-***WINDED*** dialogue suddenly plays. it ruins the immersion on my current quest, and dumps a ton of info i'm not ready for.
see you in 2027
It dragged me out of the Archon Quest of all things.
On one account I fell off the island in the sky in Ochkanatlan before there was a Teleport point there and couldn't even get back to the quest location until months later when a Teleport point was added. If I could have abandoned the quest I could have gotten back.
Like, Im here peacefully exploring without any worries and then a random ass 10min long cutscene starts talking random bs that I wasnt in the mood to hear or pay attention to.
WHY? Why did that became a thing? I like side quests and world quests but I will hate the game and the mother of all devs involved for breaking my vibe.
Ffs just add the quest to my quest log if I get near it so I can trigger it when I want.
I didnt already liked Natlan personally but then the region kept kidnapping every 5min for no reason like Im sorry but Im the player here, let me have agency to care or not about that quest so when I finally go for it I will actually pay attention to it and even like it.
(There is)
Please point me to where I can disable auto-triggering quests. Go ahead. I'll wait.
This is especially true when recent AQs have been so long between **obvious** stopping points that we have no clue how long we'll be waylaid for.
It ruins every single thing a system like this is theorized to enhance.
It ruins immersion, it ruins exploration, and it ruins story enjoyment because no one remembers what the inciting incident was when we go back to a quest weeks or months later.
I can only assume some bigshot's daughter or son in the team wants this in the game as an ego thing and everyone are scared to change it because there is no other possible way they are this tone deaf and out of touch with a cancerous feature that's one of the few in this game which has literally no redeeming qualities and only detriments.
If they insist on this, the traveller always needs a dialogue option WITHIN the first 2 lines that basically says "F off I'm busy" which pulls us out of the quest, on ALL quests. This single feature along with the "tHiS locAtIon/ChArAcTEr iS ocCuPIEd" that is still on all quests up till the middle of Fontaine are two of the main reasons why I don't recommend Genshin to anyone I know because I don't want to be embarrassed when this game decides to just be stupid.
I'm pretty sure what it's supposed to enhance isn't any kind of enjoyment of the player or game quality but engagement metrics.
People don't do WQs enough -> Hoyo's strategy of making people engaged/immersed in the world and willing to spend money on it now that they're attached suffers -> They step in and heavy handedly force you to do WQs which could have a more malicious interpretation of them literally force feeding you the "engaging worldbuilding" and the less malicioius one of "they see a lot of people don't really read or pay attention to anything and miss obvious screen prompts so auto-starting the quest is the only way they'll actually be able to engage with the content".
But back on present, there should always be a "You're about to enter a quest area. Would you like to start the quest? Yes. No." Pop up with every quest whether it's an AQ or a normal world quest. One of the first thing I always did with new regions is unlock waypoints. Imagine the amount of random world quests I picked up in Sumeru, Chenyu, Fontaine and Natlan doing so?? Ruins immersion and just makes the quest uninteresting when now it suddenly blocks and tells you to do another quest becausr the needed npc/character is busy with another one you can't remember when you even started that quest. So inconvenient imo.
Because Hoyo fucking doesn't.
Auto-starting quests are something they *intentionally* implemented after the game's launch, not some thing they forgot to fix.
( The quest at the teleport at bottom of the first island, I was at the coast nowhere near it).
Still don't know what it's about.
I couldn’t use focused mode on Neuvilette’s quest and I was on the part where we were walking down the main street of Fontaine (Neuvi walking slow, talking, me running around as my character).
FIVE CUTSCENES TRIGGERED WALKING DOWN LA RUE DE FONTAINE. ALL while trying to do this one cutscene. Bonus, had to start over EACH TIME 💀💀💀✌️
By the last one it was actually comical. Neuvilette is trying to tell me this one story for the 4th time, we get 20 feet further than before, and BOOM - teleported into Clorinde’s dnd group, Chiori’s boutique, etc. I deepened the wrinkles in his forehead that day, I can feel it.
Bonus, my biggest complaint about world quests: why can’t I trigger the quest associated with an exploration mechanic when I interact with it? Trying to figure out the necromicon that was Sumeru quest and exploration mechanic sequencing was so anti exploration it burned me out for 2 years after. I LOVE finding quest areas before the actual quest and finding out little details like a spy, but they hard nerfed it :(((( I miss Liyue exploration for that reason alone
and then it triggered again when I was just trying to unlock a waypoint. just skipped the entire dialogue. now if I were to come back to any of these 3 wqs, I don’t think I’d remember anything. the auto-trigger is just pure annoying tbh. like sure I can look up on youtube what the beginning actually was whenever I’m interested, so it’s maybe not too much of a problem storywise (that wastes my time unnecessarily though), but it triggering in the middle of doing another quest? really?
And not all WQ have acheivements linked to them.
I honestly don't know whether I finished the one in Sumeru with unsealing all the ruin machines, I think I did, since I fought in that arena, but no idea whether I got it all.
Similarly the WQ with the puzzle gardens and then fetching the child to see all the sweet flowers... that is so not intuitive I'd be amazed if you can actually do it without looking it up.
Same for the quest that you get from defeating all those widgets in the Jungle at the ruined houses, where you need to do all the "trials" then visit specific one of those houses again.
Not to mention that some quests are not really triggered... Paimon usually just says something while you're fighting and there's no way to actually check what she said, so you know there is a quest nearby, but have no other clues.
I was doing the AQ the other day where we had to go to the Frostmoon Scions for festival prep. I did the mistake of walking past the meeting point quest NPC in between the objectives, thinking that the """Focused Experience Mode""" would do its god damn job for once, and got fucking roped into an entirely unvoiced cutscene in the same area. Really pissed me off. Still pisses me off. I hate that I have to be taking the dumbest detours possible just so I don't get landmined into a random unvoiced quest in the middle of an AQ.
"Oh but you should have done that WQ already it's been out since 6.0" - I wanted to do it in my own time, on my own terms, and uninterrupted. I know it might be hard to fathom, but I care more about immersion than speedrunning for Primos.
One of the more frustrating parts is when it cuts off access to a character like Katheryne.
The recent quest with Columbina being a prime example. If you don't want to go ahead with the story quest after triggering the start of it, the adventurer's guild in Nod-Krai is locked off to you. The only dialogue you get is wondering if Katheryne is going to tell on you.
Until you move the quest forward you're locked out.
