Can I use vpn?

I play genshin impact

But I am getting 200-300 ping although I am playing in Asia server.

I live in Delhi,india
I did ping test and it was fine like 40-70

I was thinking of using proton vpn because it has japan server for free, but I think it will affect my account by changing it's location

I’ve used a vpn while playing genshin on and off over the years. Nothing bad has ever happened, you’re safe.

I've used Proton VPN back when I had ping issues. Never got banned. Just don't use it to get cheaper deals on things like Welkin or BP.

VPNs aren't an issue for gaming, but reddit really doesn't like them, as there are always bad actors that'll lead to "your" IP getting flagged.

"Split tunneling" would be the solution, but I don't know if the free protonvpn offers that. Ideally, you want the VPN to exit in Tokyo Japan, proton randomizes the usable servers, so you could answer if you get the option for Japan - Tokyo, as I don't want to try myself, I use the mullvad vpn, which costs 5 "bucks" a month.

Maybe check what mullvad costs in India.
