Does anyone else feel sometimes the quests are just…..tedious?

I’m just getting to the latest archon quest and gosh I am struggling to find it entertaining or interesting? I’m at the festival and it’s just feels like fluff! It’s cute and all but it’s feeling extremely tedious! I wish genshin had a skip button so I could skip the content that doesn’t interest me I know it floats some people’s boat but I could care less about the festival or make it a cutscene and I can spectate instead of having to click every single sentence to just keep the dialogue going! When the story is good and the action is happening it’s great but sometimes it just feels so very slow

I agree. If it doesn't hook me, I'd rather skip it. With the bloated dialogue and slow animations, there is no joy in 'playing' or maybe watching the quests.

You'll find it tedious if you do everything in one sitting. Its designed with live service in mind. That's why its spaced out in days for main event quests or patches for achron quests.

The whole section was pretty meaningful.

First, it's a build-up for how serious the relationship are

Second, it was foreshadowing of the coming fate

Third, it's the resolve of everyone's unity, even the fatui

It's usually how stories are being told.

I find that part adding so much more to the ending of this chapter.

Do you perhaps not enjoy reading novels?

I can’t really relate for this one cuz I really, really enjoyed the festival. It probably is my favorite archon quest ever now.

I think it’s fine. The one i find tedious are the stories from HSR lol. Mainly because they weave puzzles into the damn story and it becomes extra long running here and there to switch scenes from night to day 😪 like c’mon, im here for the story, put the puzzles in exploration only pls. At least genshin’s stories are truly focused on the story. I don’t have to solve puzzle 579 while trying to open the door

For me HSR is tedious because the dialogues are flowery and metaphorical. It made me sleepy multiple times in one scene where it takes 10+ minutes to finish. And sometimes they sew together multiple scenes into one continuous part where players can't move around when they want to.

Of course there are people who think so.

Unfortunately from hoyo's perspective, they see from backend data that most of their Genshin players consistently complete the quests despite not having any way of skipping. The same research got them to add the skip button to Star Rail.

A week ago, I was playing though part of the recent archon quest and had to run an errand, so let it play in my car. There was at least 15 minutes of zero interaction and everyone kept talking. I actually enjoyed it more this way. But at some point I’d like to, y know, play a game?

The worst part is some of these dialogs (monologues?) will start over if you don’t get to a certain point. I would really like to know when I’m about to enter into a long story so I can plan accordingly.

I might be mistaken but isn't it possible to end the festival 'early' by just going back to Paimon and telling her you're done enjoying it? (I don't know, I did all the stuff but I thought that was possible). That's about as close to a skip button as you're going to get in this game.

Kind of. Afaik you have to visit every booth at least once, because of the subplot of Paimon and the Traveler running around getting all the friends to add their paintings to the going away card. But after that, you can end without giving everyone candies / listening to extra dialogue / visiting NPCs

I was ok with archon quest and quite liked it. But man I somehow feel Durin's quest was unnecessarily long and drawn out.

IMO the festival was the only enjoyable part of the entire Nod Krai archon quest series aside from the Aino+Ineffa comedy duo.
