Primordial Bathysmal and Koholasaurus

I recently stumbled into Enkanomiya and they have the Primordial Bathysmal. While sizing and design is a bit different, I couldn't help but be reminded of Natlan's Koholasaurus.

Wondering was I the only one to think this? Also why might Enkanomiya and Natlan have similar looking monsters?

Because they're both dragonborn.

Tbh, that's not even something that matters, because so i yumkasaur or iktomisaur. You are right, they are, but the actual similarity is more superficial than that. Because they are simply both semi-quatic creatures. That's why they look similar. Fins, same posture etc. That's why they are similar. Them being both related to dragons actually isn't the reason for that.

For example, Jadeplume Terrorshroom is similar to qucusaurs, especially young ones. Because both have subhorizontal back posture. And there is a lot of centaur-like enemies as well. That's just common style for certain enemies.

The Primordial Bathysmals that we saw are the ones mixed with Hydro. Same thing with the yumkasaurus who probably became like that due to proximity to water.

Had to recalibrate my brain for a sec reading the post, before I realized it's very realistic for newer players to explore Natlan before Enkanomiya.

It doesn't help that majority of players don't do quests at all and you won't find Enkanomiya by accident, only after doing a quest that opens it. And random miko at the Shrine in Watatsumi wouldn't be appealing to people who already skip bigger quests.

I’ve played about 1.5 years. My focus was mostly unlocking the map and catching up on the Archon quest. Hence why I only unlocked it recently.

I do side quests but main story is more appealing in general

Lizord...That is why they look the same.

Have you considered that enkonomiya came out years before natlan ? Also you didnt read any lore behind Vishaps bcs if you did, you would have known why they look alike .....

I’m still playing catch up on the Archon quests. So no I’m not delving right now into side stuff too deeply.

I strongly suggest you finish enkonomiya and read before the sun and moon

And geovishaps are similar to Tepetlisauruses... sauri... saurians?

They are both same combinations of dragon+element. Saurians are just more neotenic, being adapted to living with humans.
