Wishes
I want to make sure I am maximizing my wishes correctly. Should I just be hoarding my primos hoping to get more Cs for my current characters? Or should I be wishing every time a new set of characters come out? I already have Flinns, Furina, Durin and now Varesa planning on trying to get Columbina. But should I be trying to get more constellations instead ? I posted my line up on TikTok and got roasted for having all C0s. Thanks

The short answer is, wish for who you like.
The longer answer is, do a bunch of research and keep up with theory crafting to know who to pull and save up for.
But based on the couple of characters you mentioned, columbina is a solid pull, as is ineffa.
I personally wouldn’t pull for any characters that came out prior to natlan, except for kazuha. Old characters will probably be buffed at some point but i wouldn’t assume or count on that to make them meta picks in the future.
I actually think they have value more than Kazuha does in 2026 genshin. CC hasnt been necessary for a long time in abyss and certainly not stygian. Unless the random Venti rerun comes up every year and a half.
I was on the fence with yelan. Honestly i think she’s still worth grabbing, but how many newer meta teams use her atm? Just skirk really.
My 2nd account doesn’t have her and i barely notice 🤷🏻♂️
Also worth noting that investing in the DPS of your team is generally more useful than investing in the supports. But honestly just invest in whoever you like.
If you care more about pulling for characters you like and having a wide variety of teams, then getting cons/sigs doesn’t really do anything for you. New characters = new teams and new ways to play but cons or sig weapons usually just mean bigger numbers
If all you care about is beating Stygian on the highest difficulty then yeah pulling for some cons can be worth it. Anything easier than that is fully reasonable to clear without too much difficulty without any cons with up to date units/teams at c0, provided you are using the correct teams and have good builds.
It also depends on the team and the unit. I.e you’re probably better off with a c0 flins, ineffa and columbine than a c2 flins without either of his best supports but a unit who relies less on specific supports but who has good cons would be likely to prefer investment into themselves than pulling for premium supports
Personally, especially if you’re new, I would almost always go for new characters. Once you have 3 complete solid teams for Stygian you can think more about whatever you & your account would benefit more from vertical investment into existing units or from getting new supports/dpses. If the characters you listed in the post are your only limited 5* characters then with ineffa/columbina you’ll have the premium flins team + with durin+varessa you have a strong core for a second team, but you don’t really have a third team as of yet. That’s fine for now since you’ll probably focus on abyss but when you want to take on Stygian on harder difficulties it doesn’t really matter how well invested your two teams are if you don’t have any units for a third.
Its more a matter of what u wanna do with your account. What are u playing the game for? Enjoy exploring the world and playing the story with characters you find fun/like the look of, or do u wanna beat the hardest of endgame modes and u dont care what characters you use?
As u only listed four 5 star characters u have i would avoid pulling cons and fill out my roster more.
Constellations are mostly to minmax damage or to get certain improvements such as hu tao C1.
Genshin and similar games with weakness mechanics generally favor accounts that can cover most if not all mechanics even at low investments. Pour too much into one aspect and you suffer in the others and lag behind. I should know, I have 2 accounts: my main where I pull my faves and their teams, my 2nd acc where I hyperfocused on having a c6 yelan and c1-c2 of one or two characters. 2nd acc can barely clear end game cuz by the time I finish my goal, they've already fallen off.
For pulling I suggest you analyze where you're lacking and go from there. With your current roster, theres synergy between them but its not the best. But at the very least you have 2 dps that cover recent mechanics: nightsoul and lunar reactions.
Best you get them a decent team and then focus on another team you can do. Pulling for Columbina is a good call, and if you can Ineffa then you're more or less okay with Lunar Reactions (you can have furina as the hydro if you have ineffa, or build aino so you can have columbina do lunar bloom or crystallize in another team). Varessa can be a cheap team to build so just work on the 4stars like Iansan and Chevreuse, then slap Durin with her and now you have nightsoul + plunge covered.
Work on those and then save for the next meta / until you find a character you like and will build a team for (better if they're a completely different playstyle or mechanic)
However, if you are an old player with a good set of teams, vertically investing them isn't a bad idea.
The reason is mostly because Genshin likes to have “flavor of the month” type content, where it doesn’t matter how OP your main is if the enemy is immune to your dmg. There will be bosses that call for different mechanics, and it’s far easier to get the shilled unit at C0 than to try and brute force everything with the same team (to be clear, you can brute force, but it’s not going to be as easy).
Another big factor is Imaginarium Theater, which is the hardest endgame mode **that gives primogems**. Stygian Onslaught has harder battles than Theater, but it doesn’t give you primos for those harder battles, only the early stages. Imaginarium Theater’s whole deal is encouraging horizontal investment; the hardest mode (Lunar) requires 28 characters to even enter. And you are also restricted to 3 elements, so even if you have 28 characters, if they are the wrong elements for that month, you cannot enter.
TikTok is not a place I would recommend for game advice; they don’t know what they’re talking about. Ironically, it’s seen **as a flex** in this community if you can clear hard content at C0.
