Question for whales: did you try to save money by bying primos with Ukrainian currency? How did you do it?
I recently discovered price for primogems in UAH (Ukrainian Hryvna) are extremely low. Almost half the price type of low. This is way cheaper than JPY price, which, as i seen, many use.
In case you are wondering, if you pay in UAH, the 100 dollar pack costs 58 bucks, and 15 dollar pack costs a little over 9 dollars.
Now, i actually am from Ukraine, and i assumed many poorer countries have pretty low prices, but apparently i was wrong, the next cheapest, which is Japan, isnt even close.
I've had a discussion with one person on a possibility of topping up with those sweet rates, we tried many possibilities, but only working thing seems to just have a regional UAH bank account in Ukraine (you cant create it if you arent a citizen).
So the only viable solution we found for this is to have someone from UA to log into someone's account and spend their money that they send through paypal (to avoid SWIFT fees on Visa transactions).
Yes, im pretty sure this is against every TOS involved. But so is topping up with JPY when you arent in Japan, so its not really that different.
So, have anyone ever topped up successfuly with UAH prices, despite being in another country? What method did you use?

In any case I STRONGLY recommend you to never share your credentials if someone propose to buy you Genesis Crystal using region prices. You will be scammed and lost your account. Actually there even was post couple of months ago about person who shared login and password because someone said that they can buy currency with lower prices. Long story short they lost their account.
In a hypothetical situation where this is done, i am the who receives someone's login and password to other genshin account, so im not losing anything. Its me who has the lower price after all. I thought about this - combining a discord call with screen share, changing to dummy passwords and terminating session in hoyolab security is sufficient?
Honestly, i dont even know what do i do with a stolen account. Like, i know im good people and wont do this, because why? I have my own, and it takes a good chunk of my time already, i dont think i need a second one
Also, scamming someone means i put a bad tag on my account, and you bet i dont want that, its my main account, ive been using for 4 years, and got some karma, despite being a gremlin half the time in posts and comments
Wanted to attach screenshots from ingame shop and ask what calculation you are talking about. Currently, the price for biggest pack is 58.37$
It's like being offered $800k by a philanthropist and saying, I want $1 million or nothing. If you're not giving me 1M, you can GTFO because I don't want your measly 800k.
Maybe on PC it's different, but that's how it's on Android.
I might try Ukraine next time I guess.
As an occassional spender however, this seems amazing to be taken advantage of. Perhaps this is how "discounted primogems" sellers operate i.e. Lootbar, which keeps getting advertised lol
Personally, Ive tried it myself (not lootbar, but similar). Usually your country might have local sellers that sell it cheaper than lootbar (but maybe not Ukraine cheap), and thats how you can save.
Been doing it since 2021 (there were times I was able to save almost $20 on the $100 primogem bundle), and I have not been banned ever.
Yes it can be done, no it is not against TOS.
Like others in comments have mentioned, I'll assume that simply having a VPN is not sufficient (I haven't fact checked). But 3rd party sites definitely work, idk how they do it. However it is important to note that they are officially approved by hoyo, so hoyo allowed the fact that purchase from anywhere can go to any account where ONLY the UID is needed. They've setup the backend API to allow this. As a result, using 3rd party sites also can't get you banned. An example would be someone spending maliciously to your account, since all they need is your UID, if it's against TOS anyone can ban anyone else by simply obtaining their UID and spending on their account through these 3rd party sites.
Usually when regional prices are exploited so much, companies will remove it and keep the prices same to every region (usually USD based). This fucks over lower income countries and get priced out of the market.
In this case, Hoyo doesn't care because they still got your money.
I've probably saved $5k+ over the last few years.
