What are your thoughts on the future of geo?
So… we now have a more solid view of Zibai, Illuga, and Lunar Crystalize. We do know Zhongli is getting a buff but not what the buff will look like. So… what do you think the future prospects of Geo looks like?
I ask this as Geo is currently easily the weakest element in the game and from all indications, Zibai is looking to be… not the best. Not the worst but definitely behind the other Nod Krai DPS characters. And this is with her in her “shill phase”. Which means she will probably only get worse as time goes on and we move past the Lunar shill meta.
And with the next region being Cryo, what do you think the future prospects for Geo looks like? Especially since Geo has no real reactions with Cryo so a “Cryo Geo” support is unlikely vs a “Cryo Hydro”, “Cryo Electro” or “Cryo Pyro” support. Or even a “Cryo Anemo” Rimewind type support.

Like I had an Anemo traveler party was an absolutely silly with Amber, Klee, and Faruzan. Essentially use Pyro traveler tornado to suck up klees mini bombs and Amber’s Baron Bunny for massive explosions >.<
Edit: I also used Jean in place of faruzan as Jeans Hold Skill can suck up baron Bunny and the mini bombs AND enemies together the. Yeet them all at once XD. Was a good? No. But was it funny af every time? Hell yes hahaha
Edit: just thought… what if they make a Geo support that heavily Res Shreds and can detonate Geo constructs on command? Like many Geo constructs can actually do solid damage when destroyed but there is no real way to proactively destroy them. But if you had a support than blow them up, res shred, and say…. Give you energy back, that can make for a pretty decent support that would work with quite a few geo characters and allow for an interesting loop of creating and detonating things. Like imagine being able to detonate Geo Traveler’s rings haha.
Or it could even be a Geo Main DPS like say… a Geo Archer. Use a charge shot on a Construct to blow it up like Baron Bunny.
That's stupid. **ALL** geo characters don't apply much geo because Geo only eats half aura and have a global ICD. This is why Zhongli/Albedo were meta back in the 1.X days with Hu Tao, because you would never have to worry about Albedo stealing reactions.
Geo entire gimmick is that they don't have a good reaction so in exchange they have overtuned kits. It's why Xilonen can do everything Kazuha does, but better, AND can heal.
I guess maybe if Hoyo made a Cryo character that can freeze any enemy or created a new “time” reaction that treats the enemy as frozen even if they are not, allowing for shatter reactions to occur where they otherwise would not be able to.
The short answer is that Zibai is a DPS that's only good for herself and nothing will change for geo

There are "rumours" saying he,Xiao,Hutao and Ganyu will be the next ones buffed
But they are as believable as "Sucrose and Albedo will get fairy tale skins" which turned out to be Kirara puss in boots and Nilou flower fairy lol
Long term leaks are always expectations, that are not a matter of if, only when. But nobody knows for certain, only Hoyo, specially after they cracked on leaks hard since the Fontaine flood
She will be the Top 3 DPS in the whole game. Top 4 if anyone wants to assume they are able to do Mavuika's combo perfectly each time.

So pretty much like every dps ever released in Genshin. Her time will pass when the new stuff starts reaching 180-200k DPS. If anyone fears power creep so much then they won't be able to pull anything, ever.

Just like Natlan was "Pyro"? Just because the next region's archon will be Cryo doesn't mean that the 7.0 new mechanic won't be something more universal like the lunar reactions. We simply don't know. And if everything will revolve around Cryo reactions then we might as well get a massive buff for *Shatter*.
Tried for Ineffa on release and got blocked by Diluc C5, saved a guarantee for Columbina, and Zibai is Geo which I like
Gotta need my lucky charm(my first 50/50 win tool) to try and snag all 3 in the least resources possible(and skip weapons atm)

Leaks have had her at the top of the dps roster, not sure whats the "solid view now" of LC is besides early server access

Actually we do not know, its expected, and therfore easy to rumour/leak around, but there is 0 certainty about it until it gets actually closer to it, thats how leaks are nowdays.

The same it has always been, an element meta, or close to meta, that people hate and refuse to acknowledge as such, and will continue to make posts dissing it and that its future is "bleak" as the "weakest" element just cause it "doesnt react", and now that it does, and that it actually does damage, it somehow is yet not enough
Its like no one knows exactly what they want from Geo, but just keep spreading the same set of things since 1.x. That it is bad, non meta, and that anything that releases will only get worse as time goes, ignoring that literally applies to every single element in the game, and yet since its Geo, its the only one bad

Electro is right there btw, alongside Physical and Dendro
Electro right now is hard carried by Ineffa existing and wheelchairing everything on her back. Without it it only got Flins(who is glued to Columbina/Aino for lunar charged, and hydro as a whole), Varesa(who is glued to Chevreuse and Iansan for overload, ergo reliant on pyro), and Clorinde, who never got much chance to shine(while glued to either Furina, or Dendro)
So somehow, Geo is worse, all the while its not dependant on any other element, or hasnt been on jail for 3 years since Shenhe. Ironic

I said it before, Calcs have her at the top of the dps chain alongside Nefer new team, Mavuika and Skirk

People are hellbent into saying that Mavuika was bad for the meta, and that other releases shouldnt powercreep her since its unhealthy for the game
Yet now that a release comes close but doesnt beat her, its somehow bad

Interestingly enough, Zibai has half the issues Flins and Nefer have, without been overly reliant on anybody else other that Columbina and 4*s(or Zhongli for the matter), all the while buffing other geo and hydro characters alongside her
Flins needs Ineffa, Columbina and either a sustain, or dodging a lot while timing rotations. Which against certain bosses like Herra is hard(and I know after beating it with him without either a healer or a shielder)
Nefer is night and day without Lauma, now add Columbina into the mix, and either Ineffa for wheelchair and interruption resistance, or another dendro for dendro set
Zibai wants Columbina, much like the other two, but her other options are 4*s, been Illuga(who is literally on her banner), and Gorou(who is old enough most people already at least have him), or Zhongli, who has had plenty reruns on the past few years

What "shill phase" are we talking about here?
There is literally no "Lunar Crystallize or bust" boss anywhere, unlike Lunar based bosses that were released for Flins(Sigurd) and Nefer(Herra)

Geo has no "real reactions" with anyone, same with "Anemo" yet you are somehow predicting a "Cryo Anemo made up reaction" support, but Geo cannot get one?

They also interrupt enemy movement(in case of Zhongli), get aggro'd by enemies(Ushi) or simply provide infinite off field damage(Lunar Crystallize and Albedo)

We just got out of an stygian where Geo traveler boulder is the main reason most people have managed to beat either fearless or dire, or both due to how they work lol

So we have Zhongli, who was the go to for protection until they started pumping out dedicated counters,and even those still prefered to have Zhongli on the team to avoid their hits damage on top of bleeding(rifthounds)
Albedo who was the go to main off field dps, besides elemental based ones whose targetting were miffled at best(Guoba) that didnt require spamming ult as often as possible to make up for it, and made a very convenient wheelchair core with Zhongli for Geo resonance for the, at the time, big three, Xiao,Ganyu and Hu tao, all three been designed around Zhongli specifically
Itto who was the go to dps at the time because of rifthounds and wolflord been fucking annoying to deal with anybody else, easy crystallize spam allowing to not be interrupted(and in Hu tao and Xiao case thrown to the skybox in Abyss due to his janky hitbox)
Gorou, who made the MonoGeo core actually complete
Noelle, who thanks to Redhorn, Gorou, and Husk of Opulent dreams got a resurgence as a competent dps, healer, and shielder all in one
Fast forward past Sumeru which focused exclusively on Dendro for a very good reason
Navia, who was a competent dps, reaching meta levels of damage, with half the effort(not as comfy as Neuvilette is concerned but nobody was going to be at his level anyways)
Chiori, who was not only a direct upgrade to Albedo, made Mono Geo return into the meta, and became the best C6 in the entire game until Mavuika dropped, and wheelchaired the top speedrun teams making up most of the team damage on her own but was also a good character herself, with easy consistent damage that only required 1 other geo on the team(or none else with C1)
Kachina-Xilonen, which were good precisely because of been Geo, and small elemental application, meaning they could carry scroll and be top tier support options to fill teams with when needed, while also boosting all 4 main elements, PHEC, thanks to Crystallize been mostly non intrussive
And now Zibai-Illuga, boosting every single Hydro and Geo character in the game, breathing new life to Zhongli on a meta relevant team, boosting the already lingering Oratrice Mechanique D'Analyse Cardinale, boosting Navia without taking away from her kit, and maing Chiori a competent sub dps option on Lunar teams

And this is the problem
Ramping the fuck out of numbers alone is just sheer powercreep, which is the least this game needs
Dedicated supports, who bring new life to certain elemental combos, without been absurdly oppressive otherwise(Chevreuse, Illuga), are far more healthy to the game than just ramping numbers up non stop
Thats what made Ellen Joe need to get buffed less than a year in the game lifespan

Unless Geo is top 1 of the meta to the point it gets shilled hard as fuck, it seems Geo will never be relevant to anyone, which is sad
Because neither Anemo,Electro,Geo or Dendro will get as relevant as Hydro,Pyro and Cryo have been in general, yet only Geo gets brought up onto "hating its current state", Electro is glued to Hydro/Pyro for relevancy, meaning it only lasts until they also get powercrept or can provide the required role missing for Electro, Anemo is glued to VV utility, and now Hexerei, and Dendro had to move away from its core to make Nefer standout over Alhaitham lol
Am I tripping or are people saying that of pretty much every character that is about to release (except maybe Mavuika)?
Then when a character comes and actually powercreeps the game for years to come, that Hoyo are just Starrailficating Genshin because all they care is about money and rendering old units useless
Unless they completely rework what geo does (which I doubt), the ceiling is capped. Its reactions will not be doing damage. What they could do is turn it into a utility reaction. A tiny shield alone is not enough.
My suggestion which isn't realistic at all would be to incorporate Petra into base crystallize and then buff Petra. If you hold petra, the shards will be vacuumed into you. And shields of different elements will stack. It will also last longer and be stronger. As long as you hold a shield of a particular element, you get a damage bonus to that element plus geo.
Will it fix geo? No. But it makes it worthwhile having one geo on the team (besides xilonen) for PHEC elements.
