I've been thinking about starting to play Genshin Impact

I've played Genshin Impact once, although it was only for a few hours on the day the game came out. I have plenty of friends that play this game ALL THE TIME and I think it's finally my time to try it out soon.

**My question is, when is the best time to start?** I would love a time frame of when to urgently start to give the best results to my early game. If I should start immediately, I would greatly appreciate some tips to help me get started.

Would love to share more with you guys about my experience when/if the time comes. :)

The lantern rite event (omce a year) starts some time this month, where you can choose a free character and get a lot of wishes.

In other words, starting now would be good. Just follow the main story and increase your account level to around 20. (Just a few hours of playtime would be enough)

Good time is yesterday but don't play just because you feel you have to play because of your friends and peer pressure, play for the enjoyment and fun .

Nothing is worse than thinking you have to play just to fit in and don't get much out of it , Im guessing if you really wanted to play you would've maybe stuck with it longer or started sooner , I may have the wrong impression but that's how it reads to me

This honestly. No matter what, it's worth giving Genshin a shot so that you don't miss out on any awesome memories. But at the same time, there are other Hoyo games in the sea ;)

It really depends on what you want to get out of Genshin, honestly.

* For an amazing story experience and deep-dive on lore, start now... it will take you *plenty of time* to burn through all of the content, especially if you end up exploring past content such as events or old trailers
* If you're eager to get into combat, meta teams, etc- also start now... the banners coming up have some great characters that will fit well into the meta and have you swinging big numbers with some effort.
* If you just want to dip your toe into the water...... start now! No time like the present.

Word to the wise though, if you're hyper-focused on the "results" aspect of the game (that term varies crazily person-to-person) you might want to be patient through the first many hours of the game, to avoid becoming frustrated. Results in this game take time. ;)

Best time to start is back then in 2020.

2nd best time is when 7.0 released.

Honestly it doesn’t matter when you start. Just a heads up, version update is Tuesday night/Wednesday morning (depends on time zones), so servers will be down. There’s always a couple unlucky people who try to download mid update or get extremely confused why they can’t log in if it’s their first update
