[The Saga of Tanya the Evil](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Literature/TheSagaOfTanyaTheEvil). It's originally a Light Novel series; It does have both a manga and anime release, but the anime is still ongoing (it's getting another season this year), and I don't know if the manga is still going or not.
It's about an amoral salaryman who's murdered by an employee he downsized at his company. On the brink of death, he's approached by God who is affronted by the man's impious nature and reincarnates him into another world as a helpless little orphan girl - who happens to be able to call upon powerful magic by praying to Him.
As magical ability is highly sought-after by the military in the war-torn alternate world, the protagonist - Tanya, now - uses that power along with the ruthless nature she inherited from her former life to climb military ranks at an unprecedentedly young age.
