Is this a rude take on "lazy" players?
One of my friends only ever pulls for who they like in Genshin, and gacha games in general, and doesn't run proper teams at all, then complains about being poor in resources. They never get far in endgame, are too lazy to do events most of the time, and can barely play Genshin for 10 minutes without either saying its too much effort or getting "drained" and ditching the game. I understand the draining part but being too lazy to actually do things and irresponsibly using their wishes to then complain about not being able to get enough resources to pull who they want; it's just so stupid, in my opinion. How can you complain about not being able to do things but refuse to actually put in the effort to get resources?
Don't get me wrong, pulling for your favourites is fine. Pull for whoever you want, but the fact that they run teams like Hyperbloom with a DPS Sucrose, who barely does any damage as is, in modes like Abyss, which is very certain team centered, is so stupid.
Am I just being too practical and expecting them to be like me, who invests in their favourites so they're usable, or do I have a point?

Meanwhile I ditched it as soon as I got my primos, aint worth it, even with my mostly well built teams.
Also call me old-fashioned, but somebody being "lazy" for not committing to a video game is a very funny concept to me. 15 year old me would treat that information as fantasy, and yet it is now the reality we are living in.
The plague of modern walking simulator games where upgrades are rewarded and not earned.
You don't have to mean or angry about it, just tell them. It might feel mean, but this is actually how to keep friends in the long run as it stops resentment building up
My deal I mean deadpan "You have to play the game to get the resources" every time they complain about not having enough pulls/ weak characters. It does not help the situation, it's just what I would do.
Hardly ever a event that i ever did qas worth it, i just like the stories, and overworld quest with light exploration.
I didn't signed up for preadatory practcies. And mind numb grinding.
But at the same time, understanding the mechanics of a game is part of playing it. If your friend wants to play a game with less hoops to jump, there are a million other games like that they can play instead.
eventually they stopped playing genshin and moved on to another gacha game. we don't really talk about the other games because i never played it but i bet money they have the same complains.
you're not so much rude for the take as immature for the dynamic. Why would you hang around and call this person friend? Then at the end of it all complain about this person on reddit. If you're in k-12 this is reasonable since you don't have much choice in who you hangout with whether it be classes or recess or lunch hours etc and social boundaries aren't quit as clear if you're on the younger side. Once you're an adult you can choose who you hang with.
That being said, if your friend is engaging with the game the way they want to and still unable to play for longee than 10 minutes, it sounds like they just don’t enjoy playing gacha games. To which I would then ask…… why are they playing a game they don’t like??? They’re aware they can still engage in the fandom and keep up with the story without playing the game, right?
If a player chooses to deliberately ignore a mechanics and understand how to player, they shouldn't complain if things are difficult or don't work out.
From both the devs and the community they are dozens of tools available to help people become better and if you don't really engage in that then you can't really complain.
Like if I go to a gym and lift a few 1 pound weights and then another guy goes and actually follows a routine, steadily works his way up and then lifts 100 weights,i can't complain because I didn't work towards properly getting stronger.
It's simple as that, if they insist on complaining we'll just leave them be, if they refuse to learn then they won't get better.
