When did we meet Durin? I don't know

I'm playing through Act 5 right now, and I'm consistently stunned at how nobody has brought up who Durin is yet. I remembering hearing it was a limited event, but HYV hasn't done that in Genshin before. Making limited events even remotely effect the main story in a way this impactful.

Is there a side quest or story quest I didn't play where we learn who he is? Maybe Paralogism which I haven't done yet?

He shows up in Paralogism, yes. I believe you get a summary of Simulanka (the event he first appeared in) when you first encounter him there

I just (accidentally) did Paralogism and the only recap I got was from some Dragonspine event. Mini Durin just appeared out of nowhere 💀

Last I check, Paralogism was a requirement to even start the Nod Krai quests, which means you quickstarted the Nod Krai quest, and hurt yourself in confusion when you meet a character you haven't seen yet.

This implies that you didn't do the quest where you learn about Ineffa, more lore about Dain, and Durin's story. They all appeared in that one quest.

And they did quick recap (which suck ass and just one page) for him in Paralogism

And the worst part to get recap you need manually open it through quest page. Dont know if they fixed it

Yeah, this was a bit unprecedented. Durin was introduced in Simulanka, the 4.8 summer event, and was brought into the main story with Paralogism. Considering how Durin ends up becoming an Archon quest character as well as the implications of Simulanka it's surprising it wasn't made a permanent area and quest like the most recent summer event (perhaps this is what prompted Hoyo to make the Natlan summer region and plot permanent).

Durin is the dragon (yes, he was a literal dragon) from Simulanka (summer event with hat guy, Nilou, Kirara, and Navia). the world itself was created by 3 hex witches, and the name Durin is taken from the historical Durin that fought with Dvalin. through some alchemy, Albedo created the human form Durin with the help of real dragon Durin's heart. that is all I remember

I was never given a quickstart option. I did Ineffa's quest into the Nod Krai quests. I don't recall ever being told I couldn't start them yet because of a prerec.

If it is a prerec, that's fine, but that's why I'm asking. I didn't recall any quest besides Paralogism. If we meet him there, and it \*is\* a prerec I missed, that's cool and I am no longer concerned.

Durin was first met in the summer event preceding Natlan. His next appearance after that was in Paralogism, and then he appeared in Nod Krai.

Half of his character quest is basically a recap of his backstory from the event.

Paralogism basically goes "Here's a 1-paragraph summary if you missed the event!"
