Hoyo are you deadass dropping a 71GB update on console???

Like I get the game is almost 6 years old but HUH?
Surely the new geo reaction, Columbinas animations and the new map aren't that intense to optimise right?
At the rate this is going, the game will be over 300GB come Schneznaya.

I had to remove both HSR and ZZZ just to keep space for other things I'm currently playing at the moment . I know Genshin doesn't want to be the only game we play, but these file sizes are getiing ridiculous.

Updates that large are typically file replacements, not in addition. It'll take 71 free GB to download, but clear up most of that after installation.

I know as much but it still threw me for a loop cause I am always prepped for the usual 30-40GB download

If you're talking about the PS5 version, blame Sony. The PS5 doesn't use delta/patch updates, and requires a whole damn title to be downloaded for every update.

I don't recall if Microsoft uses delta updates on the Xbox, but I'm inclined to say they do based off of my experience with Microsoft Store downloads.

Yeah that definetily checks out. I've honestly had it with Sonys bullshit and just want get a good PC build so I can avoid all these issues.

you can try with a better phone since hoyo's goes further on optimization on the mobile platform

that's the way playstation handles downloads

the game isn't going to be 71gb larger than it is now when it's done installing
