feels like the crashout over cyrene was much bigger (even got recommended multiple yt vids about it) and i'm seeing a decent amount of neutral to positive comments about bina. but maybe im just not exposed channels who are more negative about bina

Columbina will continue to enable Lunar Reactions for future character releases. A dendro character that releases in a year or 2 or 3 will have Lunar Bloom when paired with Columbina. Same for Geo and Electro.
Cyrene will only do that if they re-release Amphoreus characters and remember to also let them benefit from Cyrenes current exclusive buffs. Plus her ult generation will still be tied to Chrysos Heirs and/or Remembrance units. Both of which could simply just not be a thing in the future

Biner enables all 3 Lunar-Reactions on her own and is +1 Moonsign. And Genshin didn't forget 4 stars exist so you can put Navia and Illuga in there. Or put Fischl, Aino/Illuga and Albedo in there for the accursed Lunar-Charging-Crystallize Hexerei.
Cyrene gives 40% damage bonus to non-CH characters. Ruan Mei is probably a better use of the slot for non-CH teams and she was already derided as a second-tier buffer not BIS for anyone.

One is from a balanced game where the difference she makes is minimal, besides being able to make teams with very f2p friendly options.
The other is from a game with rampant powercreep and has no available f2p options as teammates. It's all premium team or bust.

They are literally the opposite. Columbina allows non Nodkrai characters to take part in Lunar reactions therefore making them more accessible. Majority of Cyrene's buffs are only for the Chrysos heirs benefit.

For me cyrene just Furina but worse and hunter doesnt exist tho.
