Daily Questions Megathread (January 12, 2026)
Ask about anything about the game that doesn't necessarily require a dedicated thread.
That is, if your question can be answered rather quickly/without significant difficulty (e.g. "Can my phone run this game?"), ask here. If you think your question can contribute to some constructive discussions (e.g. "What do you think of Amber's combat efficiency? Here's my opinion."), make a particular post with the "discussion" flair.

Well anyway, for a furina-less NA skirk + escoffee team, can yelan + xq be a good replacement? Or do I want dahlia + yelan
why bring her up
unless you want Xingqiu specifically to increase Yelan damage a bit with the hydro shred
I have skirk’s signature, so I’m not relying on shields for the eshu buff etc etc
so youd really like that Xingqiu for Yelan energy needs
at least i typically run sac sword on him
Here are my characters: https://imgur.com/a/g0QQu1i
except dendro and cryo(which stops lunar charge from happening), you can use any of your other characters with those two
notably Raiden(i think you put the NK dps set on her instead of Emblem)+Kazuha
and Hu Tao Yelan (unlike Furina team, Hu Tao can actually stay at half health)
and dont know what else
Columbina by herself isn't horrible but doesn't really shine unless she can be paired with at least one other Nod Krai 5 star.
Ineffa by herself isn't really ideal because her good Nod Krai artifact sets all want at least 2 Moonsign characters. But you should be able to get Aino for free from the Nod Krai archon quest, and that's good enough for Ineffa. Ineffa+Aino with the new artifact sets is pretty good and would be my recommended starting point if you wanted to roll for something next patch (unless you are into Neuvillette, he's still pretty okay with Furina).
Xilonen does work with some of your characters, but most of your DPS characters are old/lackluster so I wouldn't start with a support like Xilonen at the moment as the improvement you get from adding Xilonen to an old team will be small and still be far behind meta teams.
But if you really like Zibai, you should probably prioritize her, especially with all her 4\* units on her banner. Columbina will rerun more consistently, and there's always a small chance we go straight into a Nefer+Lauma rerun in 6.4. Or skip Nefer and go Zibai Bina Illuga, and use Lauma for a Hyperbloom non-Lunar team or something.
As for just one Lunar team, hard to say. Next Stygian seems to want a Lunar team and an Electro-Charged/Lunar-Charged team. But no point pulling based on just one endgame rotation. And Lauma on her own doesn't really count as a Lunar team for most shills, unless you also get Columbina or Nefer, so keep that in mind.
You don't NEED anything, but she is a viable 'Lunar team' option in most cases, and not reliant on you having other units to be good. If your Neuvi is C0, having the shield is also pretty handy for him, since Lauma isn't doing much except a bit more shred in his team.
Eventually you're going to have to make some kind of decision, between Ineffa, Columbina or Zibai or Nefer, none of them is a 'bad' decision, so just pick whichever one interests you most. And if you can get two, Columbina + 1 other is probably the best to do, but Nefer + Ineffa/Zibai also works.
the team i thought of rn is Rosaria + Fischl + Yelan + Beidou
Characters > Cons.
And never gamble on weapon banner, have 160 or skip.
I also pulled albedo by accident and I don’t use him at all and I was thinking that he would be good with zibai.
I am planner to pull for flins in his next rerun. Who should I pull for ?
Between Columbina and Ineffa, which is higher priority?
Option 1 Bina and ineffa with neuvilette or some other normal dps
Option 2 zibai with bina gerou c6 and illuga
skill skill burst skill skill
i only use infusion attacks after that
two choices. use skill again, that teleports and damages and you get infusion
or you use charge attack. thats the detonation. no infusion
on paper, it seems the same total damage, but detonation hits twice. so with aggravate addign to both hits, detonation can be better if you just swap out after
i really forget about the detonation part, so i just did the skill twice part.
cause that was very early on for me, and i was more comfortable with that
Thanks sm!
or E and one charge attack. no infusion. you want this if you just gonna swap out
If you want a vv shred or swirl, just take another anemo character
But is a R5 Prototype Amber just fine on her or is the signature weapon the way to go?
I don't have a great electro-charged team, so Ineffa would be a good start there I think? But Lauma would be an upgrade for my hyperbloom team i think? So who is better to get between the two for Columbina?
If you don't necessarily care about Bina being on-field, Ineffa seems to be much more flexible and stronger of a team, slap on any DPS that isn't Cryo or Dendro and you're set.
I forgot to ask earlier and don't know if I should just spend them on this banner.
Apparently the reason they're not the default odes is that you can gift the normal ones. (and these are own use only.)
Can't test this though. I did consider keeping one for science, but didn't go through with it.
Maivika build suggestions for elevating dmg .

Worth noting that Flins and Nefer teams both force you to spend into same-element 5-stars. Not too important, but maybe worth mentioning for F2P and/or new accounts that may want to have some variety or more open options.
Still... I think the most important part, is that you like the character and/or enjoy their gameplay. They are so close together, that you should go for the one you enjoy playing the most.
And while Nefer seems to have the highest DPS... she can feel awful for many people without a dedicated shielder or healer... and unless you go for C1 Lauma; getting that might come at the loss of some DPS.
Nefers main problem is that Columbinas Q causes lunar bloom dmg so you can loose Lauma stacks when there multiple enemies.
Ineffa is also the sustain while in a Nefer team you need to manage stamina to both animation cancel and dodge enemy hits.
Columbina solves her own "problem" by doubling Verdant Dew generation and storage. Meaning Lauma can/should hold E to refresh her Q stacks, more than compensating for what Columbina uses up.
18 quills on only Nefer is *considerably* worse than 20 quills on Nefer+16 quills on Columbina/Lauma. Columbina using up these bonus quills is not a downside that should dissuade anyone even in these forced worse case scenario.
Its alot less than what Columbina adds to a Flins/Ineffa team, you also need 10-15 catalyst billots for Nod krai craftable + PA unless you have C1 Lauma.
Right now, I have a Diluc that I got for free, but I know he has been out of the meta for quite a long time. My original plan was to save for Neuvillette’s banner, but with the new Lunar reaction introduced in this update, I’m unsure whether he will remain a very strong Archon in the long run.
At the moment, I have around 9,000 Primogems, which equals roughly 52 Intertwined Fates, plus another 10 that I earned from quest rewards. I also know that I’ll receive 20 more Intertwined Fates as a gift during this update.
Over the past **2 days**, I’ve been exploring Mondstadt and Dragonspine, earning around 1,400 Primogems per day on average. However, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to maintain this level of consistency as I move on to explore the rest of the map.
I’ve kept my account capped at Adventure Rank 25 to make dealing with enemies easier, since some of them are still quite strong for me. I also learned that it’s better to save resources early on and avoid leveling up every character, especially those who aren’t considered good in the long term.
I’ve already watched several videos about Columbina, and because of that, I started thinking of her as a kind of “engine” for Lunar reactions. Even though these reactions work with characters outside of Nod-Krai, they seem to be ideal when Ineffa and Zi Bai are on the team. The issue is that no one really knows when (or if) Ineffa will return on a banner.
Because of that, I’m considering trying to pull for Ineffa now and then start saving for Zi Bai. Later on, when Columbina eventually returns, I would try to pull for her as well. My question is: do you think it’s more worth it, in the long term for my account, to pull on these two banners now, or should I stick to my original plan of focusing only on Neuvillette?
I’m not even sure if I’ll be able to get Neuvillette, let alone two additional characters. Even if I manage to save around 100 Intertwined Fates (which already depends on keeping up a strong Primogem income), there’s still the 50/50 factor, which in Genshin feels like a casino roulette. I still don’t fully understand how the 50/50 system actually works, and that’s also why I’m asking for advice, so I don’t make poor decisions
If you don’t feel good about pulling for neuvillette knowing he’s not the best, then just Ineffa, and try for columbina with whatever wishes you can farm while their banners are up, or pull Bina on rerun
I imagine that once I increase my Adventure Rank, enemies will become harder, which could negatively affect my current exploration and Primogem farming. At the same time, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to maintain my current Primogem income now that I’m close to finishing exploration in Dragonspine, Mondstadt, and part of Liyue
Also keep in mind archon quests give a lot of rewards outside of reoccurring content liek spiral abyss/theater/stygian and some are AR locked (Inazuma? Forget which AR it's locked at) so you might want to go through that eventually
And dont worry about levelling the "wrong" characters, eventually you will need most of your roster levelled to do imaginarium theater, and most if not all characters are useful in some way.
The leveling for characters gets more expensive the higher you go, but the first few levels are relatively inexpensive. So spending a little bit to get people to 20 gets you a free standard wish and the total number of characters you have leveled will eventually be helpful for theater.

The real jump in difficulty is after 45, where the game starts to scale the content as if you have access to the best gear. Which makes the grind from 45 to feeling like you do enough damage take forever. Additionally, this is around the time that I started to run out of permanent content which added another layer of “pull” to how enticing the new shiny character that is strong and can solve your problems would be.
So my answer is yes and no. You could continue to stay at your current AR to make things feel about has hard as they are at the moment. Eventually though you will have to go up a bit to continue archon quests, and grind new gear for that next step up in difficulty. This is not based on actual values, just relative difficulty from my experience. At 25, the enemies were about a 3 and you were around a 4 out of ten on difficulty. 35 it was about 6 and 6. 44 was 7 for enemies and 6 for you. 46 was 8 and you were 7. 55 was 9 for enemies and 8 for you. 56 I felt about 9 for enemies and 9 for myself. 58 it felt 10 and 10, and now for most things it is 10 and 12.
Eventually, you will hit a wall of things needing you to be higher to continue. So it is true that holding back will prevent it from scaling up, it will also delay the next checkpoint of progression. Both potential futures have pros and cons. I know several people on my friends list that got to 45 and then never went beyond it. They are more than strong enough, but want to remain at the lower world level for their enjoyment.
Be careful about thinking end game characters are good in the beginning. A character that requires energy to do damage is not necessarily a good starting character to build. Xiangling for example, is a great end game character but requires a ton of resources that aren't available when you start. However, she with Guobo, is a much better pyro applicator than Amber, but she doesn't need to be built to do that.
* Trying to get every character. You wont be able to. Start with picking your favorites that are available. Maybe pick 1 5-star per patch to go for. Later on you can worry more about rounding out teams and building around those favorites to push endgame.
* Wasting Purple wishes/primogems on weapon banner/standard banner/Resin refreshes. Only use Purple wishes and Primogems (converting them into Purple wishes) to wish for the limited time 5-star character banners that feature a character you actually want. You don't need to understand mechanics of wishing odds, soft pity, 50:50, etc. For the character banner, all progress carries over. But for setting expectations, you'll usually pull a 5-star in the 75-80 wishes since last 5-star range pretty consistently. But it may take up to reaching this point twice to get the featured 5-star character, so people plan around bad luck needing 150-160 wishes even though the average is closer to 90. Wishing for characters you don't want is the only way to play Genshin "wrong" or brick your account.
* Trying to level up every character you do get. You get enough resources from just playing (quests/exploration/daily Resin) to keep 4-6 characters up with the scaling difficulty. But spread those resources too thin across a dozen characters, then the 4 you can actually play with will be weak and struggle. And to fix that you become reliant on slowly waiting for Resin on resources. Weapon lvl>relevant Talent lvl>Artifacts (don't need to be perfect)>Character lvl. Much later on in game, you will start to build these other characters.
* Inverse problem, not using resources at all so their characters are all weak, making game hard and progress slow. People read the previous suggestion and get scared of running out so they don't invest in those 4-6 characters they do play. Or they don't improve a new, stronger character to replace one of those 4-6 because they are sunk cost fallacy into what they've already invested into. Or they don't wish at all afraid of being slightly inefficient not selecting the top meta stuff (which is constantly changing) or wait 6 months-year for their MOST favorite character to come back/release, which then makes their team weak and slower to clear content now and actually inefficient.
* Not ascending Adventure Rank if the game isn't proving difficult (rewards get better). The difficulty increases should be small and more than manageable. If the game is difficult, look into what you're missing/doing wrong with team composition, reactions, rotations, and gearing. If you are VERY casual and only here for exploration/story and not combat/endgame, you can stop Ascending around AR45.
* It wont brick the game, but using Fragile Resin when you don't need to. It's there if you are feeling behind or want to get a new character built ASAP, but it's better to try to save it for post AR45 when you could have poured it all into farming 5-star Artifacts during Stygian Onslaught Outbreak (week 2-3 of new patch dropping that drops bonus artifacts). Again, you can still use it. Treat it like a catch up mechanic not something you should be using instead of questing/exploring/other forms of progression or just because you have it.
* Rushing or completionist mindset. There's just frankly too much to do and will probably burn yourself out. You can always come back and back clear content/zones. If you spend hours trying to find the last few chests hiding in a region, you are being inefficient when you could go to a new, untouched zone and be tripping over chests. But take time and smell the roses. You can still be a completionist by coming back and finishing zones later.
EDIT: Maybe you got the teleport unlocked by default? Have you checked? Remember you won't see the teleports if you are too zoomed out.
If you didn't miss any progress you should have 1/5 of this week (since it just started) and have claimed already 6 of the 8 rewards.
For the runs that I did, I had a specific order of things that I would do so that shields or bursts would go off at important time periods. (I am trying to remember it from a while ago so I might make some small mistakes) My rotation usually started with Nefer skill (generates particles and stops the seeds from being hit with electro/expiring), Lauma skill (catches Nefer particles), Xingqiu skill (also gets the sac proc so you have skill next time as well), Nahida skill (I ran Nahida on fav and did na’s to get the fav proc), Lauma burst, Nahida burst n1, Nefer n1 skill 3ca, Xingqiu skill burst, Lauma n1 skill, Nahida n2 skill, Nefer n1 skill 1ca, Nahida burst n1 skill, Lauma burst skill, Nefer skill 3ca, Xingqiu skill, Nefer skill 3ca skill ca burst 2ca. The shields were broken before each Nefer charged attack (or started to break with the CA) and you get 4 during the phases between shields and 9 during the full down phase.
The Sucrose version had slightly different rotations, but it involved Sucrose skill into Nefer skill (Sucrose was usually on Deepwood)
It isn't part of the standard Mondstat music playlist, I haven't been able to find it in the massive OST catalog.
Do you think it’s worth staying at Adventure Rank 25 for now so I can explore the map more easily, defeat enemies with less difficulty, and focus on opening chests to farm Primogems? Or would it be better to complete the ascension quest and continue progressing normally, farming Primogems mainly through Archon Quests, story quests, and other game content?
Over the past **2 days**, I’ve earned about **1,400 Primogems per day** just by exploring Mondstadt, Dragonspine, and part of Liyue, but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to maintain this level of consistency in the upcoming areas.
I’m hesitant to raise my Adventure Rank because I expect enemies to become harder. Even at my current rank, I already struggle with some bosses and usually ask for help from other players on Discord to defeat them. I also don’t want to spend too many resources leveling up my current characters, since early-game resources are limited and I’m trying to save them for characters that are considered relatively strong in the long term
especially when you have a good team going which synergises with each other.
get the basics of character building, team comps and combat down first (id suggest watching a yt video)
you really dont need 5 stars and all that fancy stuff to beat world enemies or bosses
My characters: I have enough to pull 5x 5 stars, I don't pull weapon banner

Aiming for some of the best DPS teams; should I just pull for Ineffa now and Columbina in another patch? I don't think these 4 stars look good. Though for Fischl I only have c1. Also I heard Mavuika and Skirk is coming though, idk if true. Should I bother with them? I know they are meta but I think there team is expensive? I'm not sure
Idk if you wanna pull those reruns if the plan is to get strong teams. Basically things have similar longevity so older ones have less time left. Just get a premium NK team, and then another new bundle.
Also what about ineffa
Get Ineffa if you want Flins, else, get Lauma if you are doing the Nefer thing. But don't mix the 2 teams, get the support you are getting the DPS for.
Do not try weapon until you have 160 spare pulls for it. Never gamble on weapons, guarantee or skip. Expiring fate points are too much of a waste to risk.
Also, what sets and weapons should I use on a Zibai / Illuga (C2) / Columbina / Gorou (C4) team?
NotSU/Serenade/Aubade/Instructor for Zibai team.
Columbina's stats are too important to put her on Instructor. Losing HP stats hurts her personal damage and she also has non-trivial ER needs. So while you would prefer to have Instructor on your team, there are team compositions where no one other than Columbina can trigger a reaction, like Lauma / Bina / Nahida. In that team composition you would go 2pc2pc EM / SMS / Deepwood.
So Zibai banner should be February 3d. (Maybe 4 if timezones work out wonky, refer to your usual local banner times)
pulling columbina
should i go for ineffa or wait for zibai
70 pity guaranteed WITH a guaranteed capturing radiance so we are good :)
I'd give Ineffa higher priority but you do you.
basically could the duo clear abyss without a main dps as such
But of course, there are always exceptions, even to such seemingly fixed rules. Think this is the first year they broke the 'Xiao at Lantern Rite' pattern.
so really not sure if Raiden comes this time
those two should work with Varesa
Just make sure to test them A LOT on their trials if you are thinking about pulling for them; and I don't mean mindlessly spamming buttons and easily clearing the shilled waves of enemies; but to understand how they are played and see if you like their gameplay.
If you find a character you like and whose gameplay liked in the trial, then consider informing yourself about how "meta/strong" they are (if you care about such things, if you don't mind not getting the highest scores/rewards in Abyss, Onslaught and Theater EVERYONE is good), and if so, who they are meant to be paired/played with... Like some people will get Escoffier because they loved Skirk and want to improve her team, even if they don't care much for Escoffier.
Of the upcoming banners... The only "wrong" (not really, just heard me out) choice, might be Neuvillette, because "power-wise", he is getting left behind (specially when almost all the content is easy enough to play ANYONE, but his DPS starts to feel lacking with Stygian Onslaught high requirements, thou the next one may be prepared to make him feel good in two of the bosses)...
...this being said, if you really like how he plays (I personally do, got mine C1 with R5 Prototype Amber), he is still a very valid choice.
Ineffa is great in general, but is not team-defining and is Electro (like Varesa) so it may "hurt" your flexibility a little; Columbina is great... but mostly as a support (or when paired) with other Nod Krai characters, for the whole Luna Reaction synergy; so she might not be the best choice as a stand alone... but still plenty valid if you really like her. She can still be played as an on-field DPS (even if not top-top of the meta) and you might eventually get someone in the future (released or new) that works with her. I'm not too sure about Zibai; I kinda want to like her, as I'm really looking forward to getting an actual 5-Star Geo DPS, but I really need to play her trial a bunch to see how I feel about how she plays; and even then I'm not too sure who I would pair her with.
If you don't have any pity (stopped pulling after Varesa) and got some wishes; I would personally strongly consider doing some pulls on Xilonen's banner before it runs out. That way you may get a Iansan and/or Chevreuse for your Varesa (and pretty much get a full Overload team going)... and if you get an early Xilonen... just be happy about getting her for cheap; and she can be paired with Varesa too; and is a very flexible support that always can be used in a team or another. If you don't get her, just bear in mind that built pity for future banners, and consider you may not be able to do the same for other 4-stars; since you got a higher pity and can't risk anymore until a banner comes that you really want the 5-star from.
If you really do not want Xilonen... but would still be willing to "sacrifice" some wishes for Iansan/Chevreuse (and remind you can NOT guarantee 4-stars, you may not get a copy in 200+ wishes if unlucky), decide before hand (this is usually ALWAYS a good idea) what amount of wishes you would be happy with getting a not-so-desired 5-star; and don't go beyond it. If you would be super happy about getting Xilonen in 30 wishes or less, go for 30 tops. If 40 starts feeling a little "expensive" and you would rather save 30ish pity towards a future character, do not do the 4th 10-pull, and so on. Do NOT "risk" your pity (and never the guarantee) if getting the 5-star by that price would be awful for you. Stop spending as soon as they move from a "cheap surprise" to an "expensive disgrace".
At the end of the day, you do you; it's good that you inform yourself (and don't rush-pull on a whim) as to try to not regret your choices; but if you like the character and/or their gameplay, and they are not in the gutter meta wise (or you do not care about them being so), everyone is fine.
On your case; I *personally* would "risk" up to 50 pity (without guarantee) on Xilonen's banner; be happy if I get her with 50 or less wishes; and try to fish some Iansan/s and/or Chevreusse/s while doing so. But to each their own preferences. Xilonen is also great for overworld climbing... too good in fact; I "can't" play overworld exploration anymore without at least a combo of two of Mavuika/Varesa/Xilonen... XD
While still some CONs away, Mona's C4 is considered pretty good (even meta in one or two teams!); and personally I would love to eventually get Dehya to C6 so she feels like an (old) limited 5-star DPS.
No choice is wrong; feel free to go for the characters you like or use. Also bear in mind that this is an ongoing thing, you will be able to select two more CONs after this one... and then 4 more the next "Genshin Year", thou the rooster will change by then, and we don't know yet if they will just add new characters to the list, or if some will rotate out. If they do not rotate out, you could get (for example) Ayato C2 next year, if that might interest you.
Personally I had a really easy choice, since I started playing quite late; and I only have the standard characters from the list; so I went for Mona C3, and the other 3 will probably be Keqing C4, Dehya C2 and Jean C2... So easy to ignore Qiqi and Diluc. Tighari is a valid choice thou, and I may switch to him depending on my 50:50 loses and standard banner pulls.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HEx2RF-SsE&t=686s
the one you are actively using now
so if thats Wanderer, no reason not to.
(none of them are that great either way)
Personally I would do Wanderer, Ayaka and Mona (assuming I like/enjoy Wanderer and Ayaka and want to play them by time to time). If I wanted to go "full meta" choices, I would consider Mona C3, Qiqi C3 and Jean C2; moving them towards their C6+ to eventually (even if its some years down the line) start getting the Lv95-100 elixirs...
...but even if that's was (arguable) the "meta move" right now... maybe in a year Wanderer and/or Ayaka get buffs like Albedo did, and I would regret not having picked them. So since you "can't" really go for "meta" (since we don't know how it will change), go for whatever you like to play; and worse case scenario, you may have "lost" an elixir or two, 3 years down the line, that you may never use because you are not sure who from your list of characters "deserves" it most, or are scare that the one you give it to, will become "obsolete" two patches afterwards... XD
I had a genshin account I played pretty frequently on and almost daily from March of 2021 until Octoberish of 2021. I advanced up to AR 54 (as I can remember) and had characters like Diluc, Raiden Qiqi etc. I haven't logged onto the account since the phase before Arataki Itto's first banner, and have left it ever since.
Yesterday, I tried to log back into my account and my E-mail was not recognized as a HoyoVerse account, not any single one. I tried to also sign in through Google accounts of those emails but to no avail as it kept trying to make a new account for each one.
A friend I had had added back then says that they cannot find me at all on their friends list, and when they look up my UID, it does not exist.
I unfortunately have cleared out my emails several times but the last time I received an email on the associated Gmail account from Hoyoverse was all the way back in 2022.
I have no receipts of making any purchases on the game whatsoever.
I did not delete the account myself.
I've contacted support initially with the support form but was rejected the next day. I sent another one with way more information, including screen recordings of me playing (with my UID in the corner), other in game screenshots with my UID in the corner and described some artifacts (with exact stats) that were once present on the account that only existed on the account.
This is incredibly strange and what I had found on the internet with similar nature doesn't really match up with my case - at least not to the point of returning "UID not found" when you try to add a certain account going through the same issue.
The account is European playing from Iraq. Only signed in from, and played from, one single desktop device through the whole duration I had played the game. I do have exact dates of some Gacha pulls that I also mentioned in the account support survey, not sure if that'll help.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? How were you able to effectively prove ownership of the account to account support and were you able to retrieve it?
1- Getting Columbina and Ineffa for my Neuvillete/Arlecchino both C0 or...
2- Getting Columbina and Zibai to build a lunar crystalize team?
I don´t have anyone´s 5 star sig
Any advice?
Again, depends a lot on would you rather have one really strong team (Zibai+Bina) or lots of good teams (Ineffa). If you don't have Furina yet, Neuvi+Bina+Ineffa would probably be a sizeable increase for him. For Arle, less of an increase but still a decent option for her.
Basically get Columbina if you want to play lunar teams.
Is she actually that good or is it more a lack of other NK options?
As for using her with Nefer or Zibai as the 4th slot, it's more just a case of Ineffa has the same requirements that they do (Hydro aura on enemies), and as long as that requirement is met, she does a ton of damage. And aside from that, she offers a shield for defense (something most premium Lunar teams lack) and an EM buff that all Lunar DPSs enjoy. So, since there's not really many 'great' 4th slot options for those teams, Ineffa is actually pretty competitve.
Using her for Hyperbloom is pretty decent, since again, shield and her EM buff applies to herself too. Depending on the team, double Hydro adds her personal DPS, double Dendro + XQ doesn't get much uptime on LC cloud but typically gets more Blooms instead. Edit: But it's hard to build for a ton of LC and HB damage at the same time. Usually in Double Hydro you still build ATK > EM and just rely on the EM buff for decent HBs, and in double Dendro you'd probably build EM >= ATK and ignore half of her kit. Which some might say is a 'waste' of a good character, but you do you.
And then of course the Ineffa+Bina wheelchair getting basically anyone over 100k DPS. Between that fact and all the people saying Columbina sucks without a Nod Krai 5\*, it should be clear who the real powerhouse of that duo is.
With Nefer you won't be getting hydro aura, at least not during her uptime window. If you have another off field dendro, it's definitely going to be dendro aura forever.
like, which weapon’s most easily replacable with a 4* + does bina’s weapon make a significant difference for her that makes the risk worth it? sorry if it’s obvious bc i’ve not been keeping up with discussions 💔
I would wait a few days after getting columbina to see if you want the weapon or not. Some guides might come out as well, so you can get some more info.
Ofc, if ur not playing for meta, just pick whatever you want or whoever you'll play the most. I think escoffier weapon is still the generally better pick though, but I don't have escoffier nor her weapon so I can't speak for it personally.
Is this true?
Also is it true that we might be getting +-100 pulls during this version?
The end of the Character event wish is dependent on the Local server time (which time it is in the timezone where the server you play on is located)
However whenever a new update releases, the game servers are taken offline for roughly 5 hours. This period is known as update maintenance. This period is synchronised across all servers.
For the EU server, it usually happens from 23:00 till 4:00 wintertime. While the character banner ends roughly 15:00 wintertime. (This is relative to the central European timezone)
The total size should be a lot smaller after tomorrow's update. And if you have finished some archon/story quests, you should be able to delete some files and the final size should be further smaller.
It's been a while, but I have started getting back into Genshin recently, and I could use some quick advice. Ultimate, one goal I have had is to finish Spiral Abyss 12 so I can Platinum the game, but I struggle doing even 12.1. I have almost 400 hours in the game, and I have tried to max my builds using the various builds online.
My question is this: I have 183 wishes saved up. Would it be more realistic/helpful for me to spend them now on the SS-ranked gal and try to build up a team around her, or would I be more likely to succeed floor 12 waiting for some of my current characters and trying to increase their constellations instead?
My top 10 I tend to use/level:
Ganyu
Xiangling
Jeanne
Bennett
Yangei
Beidou
Xiangxui
Shogun Raiden
Fischl
Aloy (have her up even though I know she's not the best)
Last year, I waited to try to level Ganyu, but with how big the game is, I know it can be ages before I ever see the characters I actually want (never saw her), and so this is where I just hope to receive any guidance/thoughts from those who wish to help.
Thank you!
Unless you pull for both Ineffa+Columbina and/or Zibai, I wouldn’t recommend getting Columbina immediately.
There’s also 2 new endgame modes in addition to spiral abyss. Imaginarium Theater, which requires a lot of units level 70+. Each month the Theater resets, and 3 elements are chosen. You can (mostly) only use characters from those 3 elements, and the highest difficulty needs 28-32 characters.
Stygian Onslaught resets once per patch, and has 3 bosses that shill current banner characters. The highest difficulty is C0R1 with really good gameplay-level, though the second hardest is spiral abyss level.
Ineffa would definitely be one to go for, a team of Raiden, Ineffa, Columbina (or 4* Aino if you can't get both) and an Anemo unit for shred should be good enough to deal with endgame needs.
Also, this Abyss rotation in particular was 'harder than usual', so it's somewhat understandable that you couldn't beat it, especially coming back after so long. You might have better luck in upcoming Abyss cycles, especially if you invest in at least one Lunar team to take advantage of the shill. Whether that's Ineffa+Columbina (/Aino), Columbina+Zibai (or just Zibai+Illuga+Aino is ok if you can't afford both), or some other future Lunar character. Otherwise, you could consider Escoffier for Ganyu, but the actual DPS isn't much better than XL+Bennett, especially in AoE situations. Or just save up some pulls and get some other meta duo, like Skirk+Escoffier, Mavuika+Citlali, etc.
I will start looking into Lunar teams though, as well as Ineffa. Thank you again!
If you play the game consistently, not only do you get to enjoy the characters while they're strong, but you also improve your account strength overall, both with all your resin farming artifacts, practicing your optimization, and with earning more primogems. If you just don't like newer characters, you can pull cons/sigs on your older units instead (or new supports for old units) to 'keep pace' with power creep. (Unfortunately more difficult for pre-Fontaine chars, but doable)
It's the people who jump in, play for a few months at a time, then drop the game for a year that end up the most screwed over by power creep. (And that's intentional, because Hoyo is trying to encourage consistent play-time and engagement) But generally most players like that should just not concern themselves with endgame. Endgame is meant to give dedicated players something to do that's 'endless' once the other content runs out, so naturally it requires a big time sink. It's honeslty a much nicer way to play the game if you just drop the competitiveness at the door and embrace playing casually, at least playing story/exploration is easy enough that power creep doesn't affect it.
Again, for you, if you goal is to speedrun your platinum trophy and probably drop the game again, just going for the current meta will get you there fastest. If you plan to play the game long-term, there's more options you can go for, like I've seen some people use Ganyu Melt to clear first half of this Abyss. But those people have been playing Ganyu Melt for 4 years, have insanely good builds across their team, and potentially some cons on Ganyu (especially now players can get one for free). And Ganyu 'works' for this Abyss because it's AOE, but she may not work well for the next one, which is where having more options helps.
This current abyss cycle has been pretty tough for a lot of people. Venti was on banner recently, and when he is on banner there will usually be a lot of small enemies and 12-1-1 is 41 of them in a lot of different waves. Which is something that a lot of teams can have trouble with if they are not able to adapt to multiwave or aoe well. There are clears that I have seen with Ganyu melt, but it didn't look all that easy to do. But knowing what characters you do have but haven't leveled yet might be beneficial to helping form a team for that content. Additionally, the abyss will change soon and you could have teams that line up better for that content or that could help influence your pull decision
I am curious though: what is akasha? I haven't heard of this new resource, but it sounds like one I would probably like to explore!
Drops rates are better now.
Materials/enemies can be marked on the map. (Honestly still lacking cause they only show limited amounts daily)
Bosses just respawn on the spot.
The domains are now practically always open when it matters, e.i. at the start of the patch.
Honestly the collecting itself is trivial, the only really inconvenient things are the time gated ones. Like I can only kill so much enemy before they go extinct and now I have to wait for the next day which ruins my flow.
For characters on rerun you have no problems and you can always prefarm materials for them.
,,,am I dumb? Is it really obvious?
If for some self-imposed challenge or other personal reason, you specifically want Wanderer's Advice and not the higher-tier materials, buy them from Tubby in the Realm Depot.
1 upgrade would be Nefer c1, 2 would be Lauma c2, 3 would be Lauma c2 Nefer r1, 4 is Nefer c1 on that last one. Columbina cons/weapon are not as impactful for the team damage as other options, but if you have a lot of primo income then none of the other things are on banner.
I would probably say c0r0 Columbina and then see how she feels after a week. Then probably save for other characters depending on how you feel.
We have no concrete info on Varka/Nicole but ask in the leaks sub in a little over a week.
And you could always get C0 Columbina right away, then wait for leaks about Varka, since people seem to think he'll be next patch, and if he seems usable on his own, or we hear about a Nefer/Lauma rerun, maybe save Columbina cons for her rerun if at all.
When people here "This game comes out on the 14th" their brain would go "Cool! I can play this after I get home from school/work!". It's not like they don't already do something similar with the Creator server VS normal servers.
This is probably just a nitpick but man it sucks that we gotta wait basically an extra day because they make the server downtime best fit China and Japan, instead of just doing it at regional midnight.
It's not like the international servers can interact much anyways outside of buying primos for each other and Miliastra wonderland stuff.
Now, as for the leaks sub and people that post untagged story spoilers... hoo boy
Because they do whatever they want? All updates release at the same time globally. While it's 11pm to you, it's 11am for me
I guess it wouldn't qualify as a "question" then.
I have a well built hyperbloom team that just can't do it, it's obscene that my hyperbloom team can't do it.
Is it possible to brute force it?
Don't have neuvi, and not too sure if there are any em food buffs
But it's mainly the series that led up to Paralogism that have the biggest impact tbh. Shadows Amid Snowstorms and then Simulanka. Others have cool lore reveals, but aren't really important to the 'main story' as of yet.
I am a neuvillette main who is super excited for his new skin bc I think it looks awesome but idk exactly when the skin is gonna be in the shop (if it'll be released with the update or a little bit later), this is my first time buying a skin in genshin so that's why I am unsure of when skins release.
Thank you for the help~
If you want to try a Nilou team (guessing from flair), it could work, but you'd actually prefer 3 Hydro with Lauma the only Dendro, so she gets Bloom ownership (and already builds full EM) and you don't lose too many of her 'quills' on the Blooms instead of Bina's damage. But if you just wanna do 2:2 and not worry too hard about being optimal, that's still probably good enough a team, esp with Nahida burst helping Bina who still wants to build HP > EM.
I am experienced with games like genshin, having played Wuthering waves and HSR. After strafing around a bit I decided to start genshin after watching videos for it to experience it myself. Can you guys recommend which should I pull in this patch?
I am 100% pulling for columbina but apart from her I have no clue about team building and good DPS. So please help me with it. My main character pull requirement is they should be strong so I don't take too much time to get strong
Obtaining two of them is very unlikely as a F2P, however. The next Nod-Krai support to run will almost certainly be Lauma - a few patches down the road, mind you - and using her in a team with Columbina would potentially allow you to use the latter as a main DPS. I haven’t looked into how effective this is at low investment.
You could instead aim to obtain Illuga on the second half banner this patch, even without acquiring Zibai. He may open up some Geo-related team options with Noelle and Columbina.
Ineffa is an off-field sub-dps/shielder. She pairs really well with Columbina thanks to the both of them buffing each other and providing solid off-field damage. The two of them combined make for a very versatile and solid team core to build around.
Zibai is an on-field dps who wants to be run with other geo and hydro characters, with Columbina easily being her best hydro teammate. Calculations are showing that she should be one of the best dps we'll have upon release, assuming you have the right setup for her (with Columbina being the most important piece of that).

What are the use cases of Lauma SMS besides Nilou bloom or Nefer sustainless?
Is ineffa needed? Me wanting to build zibai is simply because I love her design and want to make an amazing team around her. If I have to though I would just pull columbina, try and pull ineffa and maybe be happy with a ningguang lunar team?? But obviously I really want zibai

With EM goblet getting more on demand these days, should I craft an onpiece one for Nefer? I only have 8 fully leveled EM goblet and all are in use.
Better option is craft for other characters or just level up whatever you find. Most who want EM Goblets don't care about CR/CD, want ER (Sucrose/Kazuha/Lauma), or don't care about ER at all (Kuki).
