Who'd perform worse, Skirk or Flins?

If I get Skirk with Furina no escoffier, would her damage decrease be less or more than Flins with Columbina no ineffa?

Additionally, would Skirk of Flins running with only 4 stars have more damage deduction?

Keep in mind looking only at the damage *difference*, not the numbers itself (although you're welcome to drop numbers too)

I'm considering getting either Skirk or Flins but have neither escoffier nor ineffa and don't want them, i have furina and am considering columbina, debating who to aim for.

Skirk without Escoffier is not worth getting, period. If it's "I don't have Escoffier yet" it's one thing, if it's "I don't intend to get Escoffier" it's another. In the latter case, don't bother. There simply aren't enough alternative hydro and cryo characters to cover all of her needs: you need a healer especially with Furina, you need a debuffer, you need cryo resonnance, you probably also want hydro resonnance, you could definitely use a shield... Escoffier provides a massive res shred, a lot of damage of her own, and a lot of healing. No other character can do that.

As for Flins, same shit different ass, but to a lesser extent. Ineffa does as much damage as Flins in a team with both of them and Columbina. Columbina is a cherry on top of the DPS + dedicated support combo for all Lunar teams, she is not a replacement to said dedicated support. If you're "considering" Columbina, consider Ineffa instead for flins. She takes as much field time as Columbina, so if the character you mainly care about is the DPS, it shouldn't make much of a difference on feeling, but it will make a big difference in output.

With only 4 stars, Flins would perform better, because his team is mostly 4 stars already with Aino and Sucrose. Missing out on Ineffa means you probably want a shielder or healer to make up for it, and your Lunar Charge damage will plummet since it's calculated based on the two most influencial characters in your team and one of those will go from S-tier five star to meh four stars.

Since you have Furina, if you also happen to have Xilonen you could consider Zibai. The gameplay is somewhat in between Skirk and Flins (mostly NA spam + special skill instead of special burst) and she is balanced to rely more on her own damage than on other teammates since she doesn't have a Lauma/Ineffa equivalent. Out of the 3 she is the one that's more likely to perform the best in a sub-optimal team.

Ooh this is helpful thank you. I'm not super into Flins and wouldn't really get Ineffa just for him, especially as I have Varesa as electro dps already. The reason why I was considering Columbina honestly I think it's just the hype. Thanks. You've convinced me to get neither columbina nor ineffa nor flins.

That's a good point about Zibai, idk much about her gameplay. I'll trial her and see. I've been trying to get Xilonen but lost 50/50, I'm only like 15 pulls into the guarantee so probably no xilo for me

Zibai will also benefit a lot from Columbina, and if you manage to get Illuga to C2 you'll have a pretty powerful team.

We should get more info on her before Columbina's banner ends so you'll have some time to make a choice about both. Keep in mind Furina doesn't buff lunar reactions, she benefits Zibai alongside Xilonen mainly for her own damage.

Probably Flins because Flins is still a lot more f2p friendly than Skirk, considering that you'll be pulling for Columbina

Ineffa is technically the priority to make Flins stronger but if you have Columbina, he'll still improve no doubt. Assuming Ineffa gives Flins' teams like 30% bonus dmg, having Columbina and no Ineffa will increase Flins' team maybe 15 or 20%, completely depending on your Flins build

Skirk without Escoffier straight up loses majority of her dmg and there are basically no replacements (could be in the future though)

Skirk loses like 40% without Escoffier. Flins loses around 25% without Ineffa. And Columbina would benefit him to some degree so I think he'll be significantly stronger if we compare both lacking teams.

Then I would skip both Flins and Skirk and consider Zibai instead. Out of the new 5\* units she only wants Columbina.

i have skirk and flins but no esco or ineffa!

skirk/shenhe/yelan/c6 Layla. sometimes I swap Layla for Mika. her damage is... adequate. mine stays within the 5-digit range. she is still really fun, but my Baizhu can out-DPS my skirk. 💀

c1r1 flins is what used to be most recommended without ineffa, but it won't be a 1:1 replacement.. I've been using him with c6 sucrose/c6 aino/c6 dori. without ineffa, flins is a glass cannon but can regularly hits 6-digit damage.
