Varesa vs Gaming plunge dps?

Gotten c5 Gaming from my overall pulls of Varesa c2, which i enjoyed smashing everything overworld, left right and centre.

How would Gaming fare in terms of damage/robustness compared to Varesa?

Currently running varesa with c0 bennett, c6 iansan, c6 chevy (gotten real lucky this patch)

I have a c3 xingqiu, c0 furina raring to go.

EDIT: thanks sm for the advice all, it seems appears c6 gaming pales in comparison to c2 varesa!

I have C2R1 Varesa and a fairly well-built C6 Gaming with an R4 Hook (sadly). I think Varesa does almost double the DPS in their respective premium teams. On top of that, I find Varesa much easier to use, whereas Gaming isn’t as comfortable for me—you constantly have to follow his pet.

Gaming C6 gives him comparable DPS to a C0 5\* character. C5 Gaming vs C2 Varesa is not even close. And since you mentioned Vape options for Gaming and not Melt options, his damage takes another hit. C6 Gaming with Furina and Xilonen/Xianyun is around the 95k DPS range, down to \~77k at C5. Whereas C0 Varesa in your team is already 110k DPS, and C2 is \~25% increase to that, so 135-140k. So Gaming would barely do more than half of Varesa's DPS, or like 2/3 at best or if you got C6 from Lantern Rite.

But hey, if you want to give him a go, that's your choice.

If you have C2 Varesa you have literally no reason to ever consider Gaming outside of specific matchups or unless you specifically want to play him. Even C0 Varesa is better than c6 Gaming (especially with c6 Chev and Iansan) and much MUCH easier and consistent to play.

Ah yeah this is much clearer, c2 varessa is indeed much more manageable in delivering whooping amounts of pain with benny/iansan.

Gaming is a character people hype but no one
plays.

Damage is middling.

Gameplay is terrible.

Needs very specific and high value supports to do any damage.

This, Gaming's C6 damage when he released was comparable to C0 Arlecchino, and that was unheard of for a 4-star character at the time, but nowadays, Arlecchino's damage has gone up while Gaming's has pretty much stayed the same, and Arle isn't even the best Pyro DPS anymore. Back then, he would've been an insane character to C6, but now, he's struggling hard.

C6 gaming is better than c2 varessa IF ONLY you have his premium team which is c2 xianyun and c2 citlali. It's a very expensive investment.

Even a C6 Ga ming can suck to play sometimes. Executing combos, not missing plunges or getting the pet. Damage aside I would take a C0 Varessa over Ga ming for QOL any day!
