Returning after 2 years – need fast Primogem farming tips, aiming for Neuvillette, Columbina & future Mavuika rerun
Hey guys,
I just came back to Genshin after almost 2 years and I’ve never touched Fontaine or anything after it.
• Current primos: \~5,500
• Goals: Neuvillette, Columbina, and maybe Mavuika on a future rerun
I want to farm primos as fast and efficiently as possible without burning out.
What should I focus on first?
• Archon quests vs exploration?
• Any high-value quests or systems?
• Stuff I shouldn’t miss as a returning player?
Basically, if you came back today with Fontaine untouched, what would you do first?

2. Start exploring the regions from the newest to the oldest. So Nod Krai, then Natlan, then Fontaine, etc. I recommend 100% Nod Krai and Natlan. Once you get to Fontaine, feel free to move on once exploration is about 80% because the older regions are harder to explore.
3. Make sure to do the Lantern Rite quests and activities when they're available. There should be a lot more wishes than a normal patch.
4. If you get to Sumeru exploration, do the large world quests before exploring. It will be more fluid and make things much easier for you.
5. Complete hard mode for Stygian Onslaught. You can coop and it will give you some easy primos.
6. Make sure you have enough stardust for 5 free wishes when the shop rotates. You can forego the standard wishes if you won't have enough otherwise.
Doesn't playing natlan spoil the Fontaine?
I'd also recommend doing the stygian onslaught ASAP before maintenence.
Do your imaginarium theatre this season.
Make sure youre doing your commissions (full commissions also give keys for more hangout quests, hangouts also have guides on YouTube for all endings)
Check your in game achievements, look for all the easy ones or high value ones and do them if possible.
Can also get a friend to help you defeat all the local legends for (i think) 20 primos per local legend defeated.
I cant think if any more rn but thats a good starting ground for a good few pulls.
do quest,open chest,do open world puzzle,do end game modes with the characters you have even if you cant get past level 11 floor or clear them all with old teams ,is better than nothing .
if you start to explore with the only purpose of get primos i am pretty sure you will burnout yourself tho , i would says play the game chronologically follow the archon quest finish it ,move on world quest while get as much as possible chest along the way,
only when you complete both archon/WQ i would suggest to roam to get the rest of chest of that region, then move on to the next.
You have to choose between Columbina and Neuvilette tho without you are lucky in get both , about Mavuika i guess you should have enough time before her rerun,her last banner was in 5.7 , doubt they will put her on rerun so soon.
Doesn't playing natlan spoil the Fontaine?
if i remember correctly Natlan archon quest starts in Fontaine so you will see all Fontaine characters and of course they will act like you should already know Fontaine archon quest events,
personally i would hate it and if you are as me i suggest to play them chronologically Fontaine>Natlan ,
also if you did not play Chenyu Valley, it was released in the middle of Fontaine during Lantern Rite , just to know Chenyu world quest will start as soon as you step in Chenyu Valley,
Personally i played it during 4.4 because it was new content , but as new player i would played it in between Fontaine and Natlan , but you can really leave it for last and play it even after NodKrai :) its world story quest while beautiful and having bit of lore on it , is all tied to the region itself ,
story is completely unrelated with Fontaine,Natlan or NodKrai so not only you won't be spoiled by anything you can even play it whenever you want .
just to be clear Fontaine>Natlan>NodKrai , Chenyu Valley when you feel to play as last or between the regions just to not break your archon quest 'flow' .
You got plenty of content , honestly it would a pity ruin it by rushing it , but your game your rules :) Have fun!
There are offering systems like Frostbearing Tree, Tree of dreams, sacred Sakura tree, etc. At some point on the rewards you get like 2 intertwined wishes, and as soon as you get those wishes, you can move on to the next offering system (you might need to do some quests to unlock some offering systems which results in more primos anyways)
Also exploring natlan is also good if you haven't yet. The tablet of Tona gives you 50 primos every 30 Pyro sigils.
Do all archon quests of course. The story is good so you will have fun.
And well, as many others will probably say.. Explore, or just play the game in general. Other than that try not to burn yourself out.
Also a good way to avoid burn out when farming too much (keeping in mind the 50/50 risk) is to aim for two characters at a time and being fine with either of them.
For example, I was aiming for Xilonen or Columbina. When I lost my 50/50 in Xilonen banner I was like, "whatever I'll go get my guaranteed Columbina now 😁"
Idk just a idea cause farming too much makes Genshin a lot less fun than it actually is.
If you want to be free-to-play, set your sights WELL into the future. Accept that you'll need months of preparation to guarantee a desired drop.
Want Columbina? After her banner, start saving for her rerun - it should be happening in July or August. No harm in spending what wishes you do get on her now, but keep your expectations reasonable.
The Primogems in Fontaine and Natlan aren't any more accessible than they were in earlier nations. Nothing really has changed, so if you remember how easy they were to collect then, you have a good idea what you're in for now. No new "quick primos" game modes have been added.
(Well, there's Stygian Onslaught, which dishes out 450 Primos laughably easily - so there's a couple fast wishes for you, I guess! I think this patch's are still available, so if you hurry, you can nab them, and then 450 more when next patch's SO kicks off.)
Spirit Carps to the Rainjade Oblation in Chenyu Vale;
Electro Sigils to the Sacred Sakura Tree in Inazuma;
Dendro Sigils to the Tree of Dreams in Sumeru;
Hydro Sigils to the Fountain of Lucine in Fontaine;
Pyro Sigils to the Tablet of Tona in Natlan;
Lunar Sigils+Exploration progress in Clink-Clank Kraumkake Craftshop, Nod-Krai;
Lunar Sigils+Exploration progress in Frostmoon Enclave, Nod-Krai;
Lunar Sigils+Exploration progress in Final Night Cemetery, Nod-Krai.
\- These offering sites give you many valuable rewards like Primogems, Shrine of Depth Keys, Wishes, and Sanctifying Elixirs, etc.
After completing Archon Quests, do the reputation quests to collect rewards as well.
As for the question of Columbia and Ineffa, I say try to pull for them, and on their reruns, enable their constellations. Ineffa is a tried and tested great support/dps/sub-dps and shielder. Columbina and turn some of the older reactions into Lunar Reactions. Moreover, she's very strong too.
And I didn't say ineffa it's Neuvilette and bina :)
