This will be my first Lantern Rite. What am I to expect? What is the significance? How much depth is there?

I keep seeing that we'll be getting wishes and skins and stuff. What phase of the update are those expected to be? What will the events be like? I'm hoping to use the wishes to get Columbina... but I'm worried.

Furthermore, what are the significant of the Lantern Rites? Is there anything major from past ones that I've missed? Should I be worried about missing anything in general?

there are some important things for certain character in past ones but all lantern right are disconected and previous where disconected from the main story (more like bigger character quests)

Last year's Lantern Rite the story was ridiculously good and was more like a Part 2 Character quest for Hutao.

This year there's suppose to be some insane lore with Zibai and Istaroth, maybe catch up on some Istaroth lore if you want to get the full experience.

Yep this Lantern Rite will likely serve as Zibai's SQ too, and will be made permanently available for future players like the Summer Resort was for Benny.
It's my first Lantern Rite too so i'm pretty hyped about it, especially about one of my fav chars Yaoyao getting a "free" skin.

It's the biggest Genshin event in the year due to it being connected to the chinese new year. Best rewards, free Liyue 4-star, free skin and usually a very good story. And the vibe is pretty nice as well.

It's just a tie in with the Chinese new year that makes it so big. Previous years it out shinned the game's anniversary, especially the first one (they've since learned from that mistake). You'll earn a lot of rewards just for logging in every day, and there's mini games and quests on top of that.

There's usually a fully voiced main quest that's on par with character quests, if not better. Last year's was especially good, in my opinion. It's a real shame they "wasted" it on a limited time event.

It's like a Christmas event in any Western game.

You just get some extra rewards because it's a major holiday in the developer's region.

The actual in game event is no different from any other large event.

Regarding the "20 wishes", seems like they'll start trickling in on the last few days of Columbina's banner, so you might get some to spend on her, but likely not all.

Long story quest about liyue characters and a decent minigames centered event. Lore drops are pretty character based and local to liyue but decent. Missing out older ones isn't a huge issue, they only refer to it in some quotes mostly. Not a linear story that continues.

Its like your normal event but bigger cause it's a Chinese event for a Chinese made game with a big Chinese audience.

It´s an extraordinary part of the year, where everything is joy, party and amusement. The buildings are decorated, the people rejoice in happiness and celebration.

Personally it is my most favorite event in Genshin and the one i always wait, i never got disappoint so far,

What i like is the festival atmosphere,decoration and meet old characters which usual carry new little stories and their interaction with each other ,

and of course , the main story that usual follow such event which resulted everytime being very good .

It is impossible to know for sure.

Every Lantern Rite is different.

They each have a different length, focus and tone.

Last year's story was imo the worst. I never finished it because I was not enjoying it at all.

Personally, I look forward to the giant lantern centrepiece they have in-game. It’s always magnificent.
