People really think that what was said by a character at the beginning of the game has to be 100% accurate 5 years later. That phrase from Childe about Columbina affected the brains of these people in ways that no one can imagine. Childe and Scara's voicelines were written to be Red Herrings (its pretty much a trope that purposely misleads the audience and gives them a false conclusion) . It makes sense how their perspective about Columbina is skewed, because that's the whole point of her arc: being falsely assumed into something she's not.

I had met too many sweet girls in gatchas already and was somewhat expectant of Columbina, who was portrayed at least partially unhinged/dangerous in character voice-lines and Dame's funeral.
Columbina now is cute, a bit clueless girl, with a bit of mischievous side - basically teenage girl but with special powers. Not a 500+ years old wise (eldritch - optionally) goddess.
While it is not bad in itself, but for me personally too mellow and not spicy at all. Boring.

Every idiot in the comments are talking about "headcanons" and "fanfics", in a lot of in game dialogue and texts these characters are described as insane, cruel and merciless. Then we meet them and it turns out they love putting on cat ears and act all tsundere. If you think they are not watering down these characters, you are living in a different universe.
