We don't have any descenders (Skirk is not), so everyone is subject to the fate of the false sky. Columbina is not (which is why she's disappearing) and in theory Traveler is not either despite having a normal constellation. However, maybe it's because we borrow our elemental powers from Teyvat, which is why we have a separate constellation per element. So the Traveler's elemental powers/constellations are still subject to Teyvat's laws even if the Traveler as a person is not.

The Traveler is a star, or a star-adiacent entity (just look at the way they're always framed aesthetically as stars, including their outfit) so in a way they are the constellations themselves, and as such the masters of their own destiny (hence descenders). It would also explain why they already come packaged with their available constellations without having to pay in primos. Don't need to go to the banner screen and wish on a gold shooting star when you're the shooting star itself already

Yea but constellations make your fate as in the character. Therefore even skirk should have smtg different. But this is most likely thought of during bina so past characters might have to wait or the devs might never do.it.

While skirk is in Teyvat her fate is subject to Teyvat. Of course if she leaves then she is not. You can go into the philosophical aspects of free will if you want, but that doesn't make it wrong.

Skirk's free will (or "free will") is that she doesn't want to interfere with Teyvat, and Teyvat's fate for Skirk is that she doesn't interfere. Both can be true at the same time.

More seriously, recall that Teyvat has three moons and they're often depicted near syzygy, so it's possible this is depicting the eclipse between the moons rather than the moon phases we're familiar with.

More evidence: Abyssal Spire aligns with "moon phases" and Abyssal cycle events are called Syzygy.

I don’t mind most of the forced characters, majority of them have something interesting going on, like skirk was cool even though I personally don’t like her. But Columbina is just plain, her whole story feels very nothing and she acts more like a macguffin than a character with a personality.

Columbina's lore is lowkey so well written and intresting, the harbingers, moons, sinners, fake sky and all. If you find THESE boring and plain, then either you didn't read a single line in the nod krai AQ or you're just hating for the sake of it. Even the way she acts and her personality has reasons which has been explained in the AQ. And since she's a archon equivalent of nod krai, hoyo will obviously try to push her more, this have been the case with all the other archons.

But that’s the thing the harbingers and moon sisters etc are all about her as an archon equivalent, like her positioning in the lore, but not HER as a character. Like you could strip her of any personality traits and it would make no plot difference. All of her plot is just things happening around her whereas previous archons had some personal stake in their stories that made you feel like they were characters with thoughts and feelings.
You could tell me they had her under tranquillisers this whole time and I would believe you with how little she contributes other than fighting when she’s powered up.

That's because nod krai's story isn't even completed nor does she have her story quest yet, smartass. Do you seriously believe that the AQ would revolve around her a a character only and not on nod krai itself? Even in Fontaine, we knew very little about furnia personally in the AQ and only learned about her and her character development as a person in her story quest.

Also, didn't columbina save the entire nod krai cast and the traveller from Rerir even before she powered up? They would all be dead if not for her, but sure, she contributed nothing to the quest according to you.

The fact that you judged her even before she had her story quest yet already tells me that I'm arguing with a no brainer here, so I'm dropping the debate here.

Another interesting note is that her Constellation features both the Harbinger pattern of including the Harbinger's sigil (narwhal for Childe, doll for Wanderer, Hand of Glory for Arlecchino), and also the Archon pattern of including an image of the character themself in the constellation.
