Return of the Legend
Hey guys! I am one of the oldest genshin player, I started playing 1 or maybe 2 month after the game release.... I player for 8-9 months till I reached at 55 and then stopped playing coz release of Inazuma was taking forever... And i was bored to dead pf loging in just to do dailys and use my resins... ( Which was 120 resins back then)
I then played on 2023 for a month ... Coz my insta feed was bombarded with raiden rerun banner... I thought she was cool and played just to get her ( i actually got her ) .... Now I am back... Started playing mid December... Saved enough for xilonen but lost 50/50... All these lunar, nightsouls , and moon shit ... Is totally new for me... But I am slowly catching up.
But the next banner is Columbina and i think I should pull her coz.. she buffs some kind of lunar damage.. which I don't really get ... But I want to reply my Xingqiu with her on my raiden team.... Is she worth or sh8i wait for Neuvillette ( I want him coz don't have enough water characters ).
Btw I am not a legend... Just wrote to get some attention 🫡

From the sound of it, you seem to have found the drive to return and play again. Not sure if it's congratulations or condolences LOL though I personally don't recommend returning, the game is not generous and it's honestly getting old. Also because you're not exactly a newbie who will have a fresh experience jumping into the great unknown, the part of you knowing full well how much you've missed out and the cruel fact that you won't be able to catch up for a long time will be the biggest enemy of your enjoyment. If you can look past that, however, you'll be fine, I guess.
I'd suggest you simply avoid end game and run through the story and major side quests to build up resources for your future pulls. But even then, you hardly get anything because most primos are from daily activity and events. Your rebuilding time will take quite a while, ofc, unless you're willing to spend.
As for meta.. idk if you should care. If you do, however, secure top tier supports/sup dps over any main dps. Ofc, ppl will yap about go for what you want, it's a gacha game ffs. I agree, too. But ppl can do that only when they're not starved of primos, and as for you, only if you're ready for the consequences. No matter how busted your main dps is, it won't do shit against hard content.
I gotta say you've picked the best time to come back if you do plan to stick around. The game's new meta is morphing into final shape with the release of Columbina - newest archon level unit, and is by far the most generous it's ever been (personal opinion anyway, still stingy af compared to ZZZ). Columbina running alongside Ineffa, two meta defining units in one half of the patch, is extremely rare and generous by Genshin standard. You shouldn't skip either one of them ideally, but if you must.. well, just don't think about it and have fun. Luckily you do have some characters leveled up so that you won't need to waste time and resources leveling obsolete ones just to transition -Diluc, Xiao, Eula and even Raiden Shogun as main dps will yield very undesirable results down the road. Just play whatever you have right now the way you used to, have fun, and incorporate new characters ASAP.
Team building will be a whole other day, not gonna delve into it as you probably have an idea already when you said you want Neuvillete(not the best choice tbh). I'm just gonna give my honest take on your coming back. Happy 2026 and best luck on your pulls.
