Is anyone else in the same situation as me?

I've been playing Genshin Impact for over a year now and I've always done the daily quests with resin, but for a while now (I'd say around the last update in 2025) it hasn't been working. I can synthesize, but it doesn't count as Lifetime Points, and I'm forced to do the purple quests. The thing is, it takes me a lot of time, and in the end, I only get the Primal Reapers without any Affinity XP and not the weekly completion. So basically, I can't even participate in the event to win a constellation; it always says in the quest menu that I've spent 0/120 Original Resin, whether I fight bosses or not.

I should also mention that I play on PC and I often play in multiplayer. I don't know if that really makes a difference, but I'm mentioning it just in case. I don't have any other problems on my account besides this.

Anyway, is anyone else in this situation? Does anyone know a solution to this problem? Any advice is welcome! I haven't seen anyone mention it yet, so I'm a little worried the problem might be with my account or something. Help me, I'm so tired of delivering meals in this game every day lol 😭

do you have any longterm quest points? they basically locked the convenience behind playing the permanent content like quests. is this a side account that doesn't play the main quest or something?

No, I don't have any points right now, I don't play much anymore (except for daily quests) and when I do, I only explore or build, so I'm completely out of date for the new region. It's ridiculous to block it like this 🥲

I'm a bit slow, so it takes me about 30 minutes a day, whereas before I could only spend 5 minutes on it. I love Genshin Impact, but sometimes it's a bit demotivating for me because there are days when I want to play and days when, well, I don't really want to. It's also a bit annoying to do the same quests over and over again 😭

You need to do content to get points (quests/exploration/events/etc).

Condensing resin doesn't generate points, it only lets you use leftover points from your reserve (from previous days).

Not sure why bosses don't count, they should (assuming you spend resin for rewards afterwards). Spending condensed resin doesn't count, only original resin.

Okay, thanks for the explanation! I did a lot of exploring but I didn't win anything 🫠 I also spent some temporary resin that didn't work; I'm not sure if it counts as my original resin or not.

What were you expecting to 'win'? You just earn points as you do quests, open chests, etc. You can use 4 for dailies, and if you earn more the excess gets put in storage. (and can be used on future days as you spend resin on things).

Not sure what you mean by temporary resin, you should just need to spend 120 of the recharging x/200.

I thought you just had to use the resin; I didn't even know you could get the daily quest rewards through exploration...
I'm talking about the purple resin you buy in the customizable world. Most of the time I only did 1 or 2 bosses, so I think that could be it.

I think those should count. They definitely work by using them for 60 resin and then spending that anywhere, but not 100% if it works if you claim it directly. Could be similar to condensed resin not counting. (spending resin to craft condensed does, but the condensed resin itself doesn't).

Doing only 1 or 2 bosses could indeed be the problem, that's 40-80 resin, not 120.

When I create condensed resin, it doesn't work either 😭 Tonight I'm going to try spending the 120 resin on bosses; I'll comment on this post again to say if it finally worked or not.

Do note that the resin only counts for points/dailies while you have some long-term points left to use. If those are at 0, you need more quests/ chests/events etc to get them up before that works again.

Spending the 120 resin on bosses should count for the constellation event regardless of whether you have points. (But you do need to do dailies as well to complete the day, the requirements are dailies + 120 resin spent.)

Adding onto what others have already said, long-term encounter points reset at every x.0 version.

So the reason why it hasn't been working is that the points you accumulated during the Natlan patch era expired when the Luna patch launched.

are you spending resin to collect rewards after the fight?

open chests or do puzzles or do quests > get encounter points > spend resin to skip dailies

Yes, but I was told I had to spend all 120, but each time I only did 1 or 2 bosses, so I'm going to try spending it all and see if that works.

making fragile resin counts towards the 120, spending already made fragile resin doesn't

make sure you have some encounter points before you start making fragile resin

You need to do quests and exploration in order to get encounter points. You can then use encounter points to claim e.g. spent resin as doing dailies. If you have 0 encounter points, this will not work and you'll have to do daily commissions as normal.

As for the constellation event: you need to do 4 daily commissions (or claim rewards through the abovementioned encounter points) and then spend 120 original resin. Condensed resin doesn't count, but if you don't care about farming, you can spend 2x condensed resin (won't count) and then spend 120 original resin at the crafting bench to condense 2 new condensed (will count).

I think your problem is that you have 0 encounter points and are also not spending 120 original resin.
