Yep, first thing that popped into my head when I saw that scene. Considering Seelies are “Angels” it kinda fits that that a Moon Goddess would be considered an “Archangel”
Xerxes4572026-01-13 17:05
Lucifer was not an archangel.
Long_Membership14012026-01-13 17:33
Dude, he was an archangel
Regulus2422026-01-13 17:40
Looks like there's debate on whether he was an archangel, cherub or seraph.
Infamous-Drive-9802026-01-13 18:21
I mean didn't Gabriel a Archangel need to fight Lucifer with a sword made by God himself for Lucifer to fall (i guess i depends on the version of the story, some say God just blasted him to hell pretty much) ? It would make sense that he was a Archangel or closer to a Seraph ? (As far as i understand Seraphs are only bellow God himself , being the highest rank of angels)
NobodyAsleep85422026-01-13 17:36
Yes he was? He is often described as a powerful Seraph/Cherub or an Archangel.
Xerxes4572026-01-13 18:06
There’s debate about it. But he can’t be all three.
NobodyAsleep85422026-01-13 18:47
He isnt all 3. it just isnt properly stated which one he is. Some say he is an Archangel, Some say hes a Seraph and some say he is a cherub.
Xerxes4572026-01-13 19:09
If following a Bible interpretation, he would be a Cherub. Because I believe it states that specific one. Regardless, if he is one of those three, then I think it’s not exactly accurate to say he is one of those three since it’s not clear.
NobodyAsleep85422026-01-13 19:14
Also He very much was an Archangel given he is the BROTHER of Michael, The Archangel. That much is stated.
Xerxes4572026-01-13 22:31
He was never stated to be the brother of Michael. Where is this coming from?
MatStomp2026-01-14 01:30
From the TV show Lucifer :D
Xerxes4572026-01-14 01:33
Man, that show as a poor representation but it was based off a comic.
NobodyAsleep85422026-01-13 18:48
I would think of Columbina as a Seraph cause of the 3 wing motif on her model
The_Starfallen2026-01-13 12:44
This shot is just gorgeous 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Vanthraa2026-01-13 13:01
And here I just thought about Aglaea's golden threads while watching this scene lmao
peruanToph2026-01-13 13:01
This to remind why Columbina has a very close connection theme-wise with Traveller
Traveller is the Morning Star, which is another name for Lucifer, the Fallen Angel
Weaponmaster4702026-01-13 13:09
Interestingly Koitar, First Angel who co-led the Angel rebellion against the Heavenly Principles (Lucifer of Teyvat's Angels) is the Goddess of the Dawnstar, cursed with memory loss, who has had a significant lore presence in Nod Krai.
What did Hoyo mean by this?
kujah_0h2026-01-13 13:26
Trying to set up a romance presumably. It needs a way to stay competitive since ML is very popular these days. They don't have to commit to it, but it does the job.
Edit: Cmon guys. Just accept it. Columbota and Aebot in the trailer were literally in the lover's pose and Koitar was the wife of a guy from the stars. That Serveu somethinf2.
Even if not explicitly stated, people have already licked these crumbs clean and Hoyo's home base loves her for it. Its arguably more embarrassing to deny it than to try and hold up the veil.
Weaponmaster4702026-01-13 13:28
And it just so happens there is another Archon on the horizon with cryptic origins, that shares certain keywords and motivations..🤔
kujah_0h2026-01-13 13:46
Would you like romance here?
Weaponmaster4702026-01-13 15:30
In all honesty, I wouldn't care. It's all been there, done that.
If Mr "Elysia" wants to show the world more of his dating experience through his game avatars feel free, the community response would at least be amusing lol.
TWOSimurgh2026-01-13 19:12
I am not even into the ML but I want to see Tsaritsa the Waifubait just to see the absolute crashout at FatuiHQ. I believe someone will actually harm themselves over it and seeing the most insufferable people meltdown is a pleasure worth sacrificing a character to harem gods.
AlterWanabee2026-01-13 14:21
Competetive? Genshin is still at the top 5 years later, and the only games that basically challenged or defeat it is Star Rail, FGO during their peak months (fuck Summer for giving Summer Castoria and Summer Morgan together), LnD, and the big IPs like Pokemon. Also bonus points for Arknights which IIRC was higher during W Alter.
Certain "competetive" games only hope to match the game.
kujah_0h2026-01-13 16:18
Wuwa's not quite there and Hoyo has other titles, but the fact that Wuwa was able to carve up as large a share of the market as it did in a relatively short time must have spooked the.
With a greater focus on glazing rover that even some people in CN side were questioning why they were getting babied, plus the power of implication, they're sort of in a harembait limbo that just works. Its makes people happy. Its a genuine strategy though to be honest I dont like it.
There's going to be a lot of competition from here on put and Genshin started development way before 2020 which put them in just the right position at the start of the pandemic, and wanting to replicate that success, lots of games were put into development and there are 3 new big prospects that could erode Genshin's market share: Endfield, Ananta, and Silver Palace.
Theyre gonna offer what Genshin's offering (open world), but with a more modern engine, new combat, economy, mechanics, and even general style of play and fanservice, then what must Genshin offer too? The late 2020s are genuinely a cause for concern which I think is the reason why they're upping the ante with Columbina using Arcane references of the lovers and setting up Koitar and Serveu something2 like theyre reincarnated lovers to maybe build a FL. Lord knows that trope is massive is east asia and theres a lot of people outside it that actually like it.
AlterWanabee2026-01-13 16:20
The fact that you're already considering the late 2030s (so basically 15 years from release) means you have no other argument. Like gacha games barely even reach the 10-year mark (FGO still needs a few years for the global version to do so).
kujah_0h2026-01-13 16:35
Wuwa in under a year put itself in the top 10 rankings and is vying for top 5 every month now.
Umamusume blew up outta nowhere.
TCG is massive.
Naruto Mobile is a top 10ner with CN revenue alone for some fucking reason
And NIKKE as usual is horny and wealthy.
Hell, even Snowbreak is becoming a safeheaven for people who like that sort of thing. (I dislike it personally). Anyways, I saw a revenue of several millions now as well and surprised its not reflected in many lists.
Endfield, Ananta, and SP have nearly 50 million pre register, and even if only a 5th of them become stable, mainstay players, thats still millions in revenue that cpuld have gone to Genshin. Fatigue and attrition already sapped my friend group of Genshin players and now there's literally only me left who plays while everyone else moved on, so I have an understanding and acceptance and im not arrogant amd totally sure about Genshin's position.
AlterWanabee2026-01-13 16:38
By the way you're saying, you'd think that Genshin's market share shrunk. Instead, it actually stabilized and was growing by Nod Krai. The market share that WuWa took was the ones that already left Genshin. MHY has no plans of getting them back by the look of things.
Second, WuWa getting into top 10 is not even a great thing considering that there is a drop off after like the top 5 or so. You go from HSR, LnD, and Genshin grossing around 20 million, to top 6 to 10 grossing around half of that. This is not to say that they are lower, since by the profit margins they are way higher than Genshin (FGO for example has like the highest profit margin of the bigger gacha games).
kujah_0h2026-01-13 16:55
Wuwa was top 5 a month ago IIRC. They were in the top ranks for msot of its short existence which is impressive. A lot of the early Wuwa playerbase were Genshin players and they acclimated into the familiar setup pretty fine. Their growth later on tapping into former players and even newer ones that saw Genshin as outdated turned to the more modern Wuwa for that reason. Its not just ideological, but practical for new gacha players.
In anycase. Genshin still wants to grow as a company. What better way to do that than broadening the customer base? HSR and ZZZ already do that, but still. Its a pretty dumb thing to assume that the premier gacha title is gonna let all its competitors slide. Hell, what we have right now probably isnt even growth, but tapping into the old 300 million playerbase who may have reinstalled Genshin for Dottore, Columbina, Sandrone, etc. Legacy characters brought millions back to Fontaine. People are incredibly loyal to the story.
HYV is already pushing itself to stay relevant and im curious to see what this will mean for future story direction and gameplay updates.
Princess_Moe2026-01-13 20:02
>Wuwa in under a year put itself in the top 10 rankings and is vying for top 5 every month now.
assuming you're basing the rankings on the monthly revenue report in gachagaming, it's so easy to call you out for dreaming stats outta your ass lmao
just in 2025 alone, the highest wuwa got in those posts was 5th during its anni patch and would even go under 10th at times
>Endfield, Ananta, and SP have nearly 50 million pre register, and even if only a 5th of them become stable, mainstay players, thats still millions in revenue that cpuld have gone to Genshin.
anyone familiar with these preregistration counters know those are artificially ramped up for clout lol
kujah_0h2026-01-13 17:49
Edit: did not see. I mean late 2020s, not 2030s.
Rex_Lapis_2026-01-13 13:09
Threads of fate nothing more
Senator_StrongArms2026-01-13 15:36
Lucifer looks like he landed on electrical line then burned himself to death becoming an art piece.
Infamous-Drive-9802026-01-13 18:25
I mean i know about 2 versions of Lucifer becoming a fallen angel, he fough the Archangel Gabriel who was wielding a sword made by God himself so he could defeat Lucifer, or that God himself blasted Lucifer to hell. In any of those he would look burned as fuck, now i could be wrong on both since i'm not a religious person
cyrcyrcyr2026-01-13 22:00
that was Michael , gab si the messanger.
ThePoetessOfLesbos2026-01-13 16:25
Godamnit, I don’t have a team for her don’t make me pull her 😭. I’m still in Inazuma and it’ll take me years to actually meet her in game, so hopefully she’ll still be usable by then
aaa_thepro2026-01-13 17:52
Further hint that Traveler and Columbina are connected way deeper than we thought.
Uekita72026-01-14 00:17
I thought the exactly same thing.
MatStomp2026-01-14 01:31
Also new art set she can use is called Morningstar.
