The game is (very likely) *not* doing all of those individually because that would be a psychotic way to set things up. There's likely a single flag/variable for which twin you picked and that tells the game which content to show the player.

We kind of know they DO use the flag system. There was a bug in Chenyu Vale, as I recall, an NPC who's dialogue was mis-coded such that both gender choices were peeking through. Something like, "You're looking handsome today, \[TRAVELER NAME\]!} {You're looking beautiful today, \[TRAVELER NAME\]!"

You’re not wrong, though it depends on how the devs organized the codes. It COULD be as easy as flipping a switch, but if they never established a switch to begin with it would be a lot of work.
Imagine sorting mails or documents into folders properly the moment you‘re done with them vs stacking them on a pile and and do the sorting a year later.

They could give traveler permanent infusion and they would still be mediocre. A charge attack only infusion with a cooldown isn't going to fix anything.

Keep playing chronologically. I came back to Genshin in May having quit after finishing Liyue (got tired of doing dailies and was scared of the Raiden Shogun for some reason) and I've missed out on almost all the limited rewards from 6.x so far but I was able to experience each Archon Quest without knowing what comes ahead. For some, I did have minor spoilers (like Fontaine's ending with >!Focalors' death!<) but I got to play the game, relish each twist, as I went along.
I'm in act 2 of NK now, finished Natlan only a month or so ago, so I'd strongly advise you keep going. Your transition will be far more fluid and it'll keep you from getting spoiled.

Outfits for the twins!? That's awesome! Honestly I was kind of against them getting outfits seeing as their designs are such a core part of the game, but these actually look great and most importantly keep their aesthetic intact.
I'll still be sticking with standard Lumine though, it's still one of the game's best outfits. :)

I love them both (despite being apprehensive about the concept of alternate twin outfits), but yeah, if I had to say one negative thing it's the complete lack of blue in Lumine's version. Like, they're clearly meant to match, even more so than their original outfits, yet Aether has a bunch of really nice blue accents (shoulders, inside of cape, the flower, and the feather things) while Lumine has... absolutely no blue. It's odd.

The only thing I can think of is they're a deliberate reversal of the original outfits, where Aether has a very strong cream-and-dark-brown-and-yellow palette while Lumine has a much purer white, far less and lighter brown tones, while also having some blue as well as black.
The more I look at them, the more certain I am of this; new Lumine is based on original Aether, and vice versa. New Aether even has her hair flower on his jacket, and his forearm armour (vambraces?) are *strikingly* similar to original Lumine.

I hope I like the Aether outfit when actually playing with it because it looks weird to me in all the previews. New color scheme is also so cold and overall a white cloak feels wrong for an adventurer. The brown theme looks right in every environment.
