"Paimon is the unknown God!" Jokes aside, is her origins ever going to be revealed?
Doing Albedo's Character Side Story, and maybe I'm reading into it, but I feel like that reaction says something

Nope, just hinted Paimon likely from "Up there", or some what controlled by "Up there".
Could be Celesta, could also be beyond the False sky.
Or
It could be You, Yeah, you. I know you are controlling Paimon!

This guy might sound to be playful joking but seeing how Alice broke the 4th wall, "up there" might as well seriously be "you".
I feel like Genshin Devs will include themselves to the game soon.

I’m genuinely gonna start tweaking if we still somehow don’t get any lore on her while we’re in Nod-Krai. You know? The land of lore drops right now. They’re going this far in actually introducing WQ lore into the main story and bringing in lore relevant characters that it’ll genuinely surprise me if she doesn’t get even a smidge of anything new

They gon find a way to keep her secrets til Act 10 of Khaenri'ah 💔🥀

> ever
Probably, eventually. That kind of info sounds like a late-story thing though, so probably not anytime soon. Late into Snezhnaya's AQ at best, more likely in the very last chapter of Teyvat's storyline.

paimon got enough power to shatter 2 moons in one fell swoop

I've been waiting for more Paimon lore for 5 years now... Seriously, it's getting tiring o(-(

Is it just me who wouldnt like that paimon is the unknown god its kinda a overdone trope "gah! the best friend of MC is actually the villian!??!" I think theyre gonna go this way with all the hints but paimon is a little cutie and I like the found family between them. Idk like I wouldnt hate it but it wouldnt be hyped maybe in the moment but after its just like oh ok
Id love paimon lore without making her some secret evil person
Ecstatic-Source60012026-01-13 13:35
At this point I am coping she is secret 5th shade of reason. Cuz she is well... looking for a very specific "reason" with us 🤡👍
arminismyspirtanimal2026-01-13 15:45
Yeah it would be cool if that's the case or ive seen HCS shes a sister of asmoday? I think that lore would be cool and def more surprising
Gentlemanor2026-01-13 13:09
Paimon is Da Wei's daughter.
Case solved
Artistic_Cable62182026-01-15 17:10
sad, but only Kiana his daughter...
Mewsergal2026-01-13 13:26
Paimon is Paimon

Maybe eventually. She is a bit of an outlier compared to the rest of the Teyvatian citizens. Her unusual origins have been pointed out a few times at this point and been called various things. It’d be strange if we didn’t get anything on her later on.
Given her crown, and how the crown is the icon for the circlet of the five Artifact slots, and how we currently only know of four Shades representing Life, Death, Space, and Time of those Artifact slots, I feel she’s either Phanes - the Heavenly Principles itself - or a fifth unknown Shade representing Reason; Circlet of Logos. And she’s smol because she’s in a low power state, as gods have been shown to do.
Paimon’s cards representing the Omni Element in the TCG suggests she in some way has some connection to all 7 elements. This is corroborated by her being referred to as a rainbow balloon tied to a string reaching from celestia by that one Melusine.

They've been subtly shooting down ideas over time.
Prior to natlan we had countless theories, she was istaroth, phanes, a moon sister, an angel/seele.
And they've kept shooting term since natlan.
God's limit showed the shades, so she supposedly isn't any if them.
Nod krai is about the moons.
And Nicole and the lord of night are angels who don't even acknowledge her.
As it stands the ones that remain are unknown god but even that's shakey.

The traveler’s secret is that they can absorb any power and harness it. When the shade of space was sealing them they were reaching their hand out, they absorbed part of Asmoday. This is why the traveler you pick magically finds Paimon. The part of the power they absorbed finally manifested, and the shade decided to embrace living as Paimon, thus “switching sides” and “loving her new master more than her own self” as Ronova theorized in the last Interlude trailer

Paimon is like a balloon tied to the sky island, and she wears a crown, real stuff. She's someone big.
StevesEvilTwin22026-01-13 15:13
They all but confirmed that Paimon is the Primordial One in the Frostmoon Scions lore.
The Frostmoon Scions call the Primordial One "Pitakmoonen" (which is a title for Ukko, the Finnish sky god), but in the Chinese script, the transcription of "Pitkamoonen" is heavily butchered in order to make it sound more like "Paimon".

For all the Paimon theories out there so far, [this one is my favorite](https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Lore/comments/1nxgjej/paimon_is_a_piece_of_the_heavenly_principles/). I just don't really buy in that she's Asmoday.

Hang on.... what is paimon is Nibelung's familiar?
There are too many weird things about her tying her to Teyvat that doesn't make sense.
