Encounter Points Explained - A Guide to Instant Completion of Daily Commissions
I've seen a lot of confusion around the encounter points recently, despite them being explained pretty clearly in the game. I've made a short guide on how they work.
**TL;DR: you can finish daily commissions in 3 different ways:**
1. Play them manually;
2. Obtain 4 Encounter Points by doing various activities, like opening chests and playing events, and then talk to Katheryne to instantly finish all 4 commissions;
3. Spend 120 Resin on crafting Condensed Resin or claiming rewards from the Ley Lines, Domains, Bosses, etc., to automatically convert 4 accumulated Long-Term Encounter Points into 4 Encounter Points, and then talk to Katheryne. This only works if you have LTEP to spare (get more LTEP by farming EP; you can hold a maximum of 4 EP at a time, and any overflow gets converted into LTEP).
**What are Encounter Points (EP) and why you should care?**
EP allow you to instantly complete daily commissions. Each commission requires 1 EP, so you need 4 EP if you want to instantly complete all dailies.
**How do I check how many Encounter Points I have?**
You can see how many EP you've got by going to Adventurer Handbook -> Commissions. Each icon of a present box equals one EP. They max out at 4 and reset when used to complete commissions\*.

^((\*I haven't checked whether unused points carry over or not))
**How to get Encounter Points?**
The main sources of EP are exploration activities (like opening chests and collecting oculi), doing events, and playing through the stories.
For example, chests (regardless of quality) and oculi are worth 0,5 EP each.
**What are Long-Term Encounter Points (LTEP) and how to get them?**
Once you're at 4 EP, any further activities that would normally grant you EP, will grant you LTEP instead.
LTEP can be used as a substitute for EP.
**Are Long-Term Encounter Points permanent?**
LTEP reset every year, usually in a patch that ends with 0 (5.0, 6.0, 7.0, and so on).
**I have a lot of Long-Term Encounter Points. You said I can use them as a substitute for EP? How?**
You can convert LTEP to EP by spending Resin.
**But Resin is valuable. Isn't it a huge waste to spend resin just to speed up dailies?**
You're not wasting any Resin!
Just use Resin as you normally would. Claim rewards from the Ley Lines, Artifact Domains, Bosses, or convert Resin into Condensed Resin. Any use of raw Resin counts.
Using Condensed Resin to claim rewards does NOT count.
**Oh, so I'm not losing any Resin... ?!**
No! The game simply tracks how much Resin you've spent during the day.
For every 30 Resin spent, 1 LTEP gets automatically converted into 1 EP.

**So if I run out of Long-Term Encounter Points, I can't instantly complete dailies by converting Resin into Condensed Resin anymore?**
Correct. Condensing your Resin allows you to skip commissions ONLY if you have LTEP to spare.
