Playing Genshin on Mac using PlayCover is slowly cooking my laptop pls Hoyoverse 😭
So I play Genshin on my Mac using PlayCover with IPAs, and while it technically works, my Mac gets insanely hot….even tho i have a powerful processor
I know Genshin isn’t optimized for macOS yet, and PlayCover is basically a workaround pretending my Mac is an iPad. It does the job, but it’s clearly not ideal.
I really wish Hoyoverse would consider an official Mac version or at least some form of proper optimization. Apple Silicon Macs are powerful enough, and a lot of us are already playing anyway, just in cursed ways that shorten our laptop’s lifespan.
If there’s ever a petition, sign-up, survey, ritual sacrifice, I’m in. PLEASE HOYOVERSE 😭🙏🙏
Any other Mac players suffering like this?

The only issues I've had with Playcover is every now and then, when I try to open the game, I will get a pop up that it was closed incorrectly the last time and then I need to force close it first before booting it up again. One time this did not solve the issue and I had to re-install the whole game. > <
What version of MacOS do you have? I have been scared of updating my Mac ever since I put Genshin on it in fear of Playcover no longer working lol. I'm still using Ventura 13.5.1
I think Genshin can work on iphone, ipad, right? It's ridiculous that it can't run on mac (my air should have more than enough power for that and it also frustrates me).
same goes even with phones. you can't see even a flagship phone who takes tremendous photo/video which is also a heavy gaming phone...and vice versa. something has to be tuned down so that another can be tuned up.
The only thing holding it back is the OS compatibility itself.
I think u r playing on retina settings. That's why it's running hot.
I put 1080p resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio and 1.0 resolution scaling. It runs very well on my potato.
