Something I noticed on a replay
Recently decided to replay genshin to actually learn the lore this time and something I noticed is that diluc actually owns a book called “Biography of Gunhildr”
For those not in the know, the book is primarily about the the Gunhildr clan(that Jean and Barbra are apart of) about the clan and how its ancestors lived through the founding ages of mondstadt all the way to modern day from the og Gunhildr fighting against decabarin and putting venti in power as the archon of the wind
All the way to the aristocratic age where the clan would be the best of the aristocrats protecting the city even to this day with Jean acting as grandmaster of the knights.
With that said, it made me curious because to me, Diluc doesn’t really seem to me as the type to read history books like these for fun which to me points towards Jean having a bigger role especially in mondstadt than just the acting grandmaster.
Not just because of dilucs connections to characters like nefer,the ratio, and to an extent Yelan. But also her ties to Venti through her lineage as one of the clans that allowed venti to get into power. Perhaps we get another Diluc quest down the line that requires Jeans clan to do something that involves her connection to venti?
Idk if I’m stretching though but it does seem interesting if it’s ever brought up especially jeans heritage. Maybe it might make a good mondstadt arc too?

Diluc also has a LOT of lines about reading in his interactions. He is very dedicated to Mondstadt and knows a LOT about the history of the nation. He sussed out that Venti was Barbatos almost instantly. He is almost as well informed on Mondstadt's history as Lisa, and she runs the second biggest library in Teyvat.
Not to put a damper on your ideas that Jean is important, particularly to Diluc (that is evidenced within the Archon Quest itself, as well as several other dialogue lines and events they have together)... but Diluc is a Noble who would have had to learn about the same history that Eula distances herself from, and Jean is proud of. He was a Knight of Favonius, which includes a history portion to the test too.
