The same way the Shenhe story is canonically after Liyue. The interludes don't really have a set place on the timeline, just that they take place after a certain thing.

makes some sense time wise. he'd need to travel a bit with hat guy, be turned humanoid, and spend a good amount of time learning alchemy, basic people skills, etc. with enough time for mondstadt to understand what happened and him being a new Durin, but then also forget him.
tbf over a year is a decent amount of time for that, instead of the months if we go by release times. imo its a good retcon as it just gives him more time to settle in mondstadt before the whole fate thing smacks him in the existence.

Simulanka is supposed to be after Fontaine too though, so that retcon basically undoes the time he spent with Wanderer which ended up being important to his story

It should come after Bedtime Story at the earliest, but I’m not sure this interface would allow an optional interlude to appear after that quest instead of adjacent to it. Bedtime Story is the first time the explicitly name the Sinners, and Paralogism invokes that title when discussing Rhinedottir.
